Ya, thanks! Nice talking to people who are awake and aware. Most people dont care enough to bother- ignorance is bliss, as they say.
I recommend everyone at least buy 1 silver eagle (about $18) and hold it in their hand, carry it in their pocket, and just see what it feels like to have real money on your person. It's a different feeling than fiat currency, for sure.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Interesting hobby though...collecting coins isn't actually uncommon. My grandpa collected foreign coins (he was a sailor and went around the world). Gold coins is just upgraded version of that.
I'm not a professional by any means but I heard most gold and gold coins though are marked up vs. the actual market price of raw gold by middle men, some would sell close to 25% mark up/profit I heard.
Gold from what I know isn't really great at getting returns (from college I read an economists article how gold only has 2-4% return vs. funds that average 8-12%)...I think gold isn't good for 'investing' rather for keeping value of wealth over time (as it's stable, both up and down) ie like Swiss and Japanese govt. bonds (who have negative yields but far lower still than possibility in volatile market).
I've met some libertarians who trade in silver. lol. They're hella serious. I'm a fiscal conservative type, but not quiet "let's go back to barter market" kinda guy.
@JaxonH
If you are suspicious enough about currency, then you might want to be suspicious about the internet's ability to gain information about you. ;-]
Apart from that it seems to be the case that you like to do a lot of research on the topic aswell (which probably is a general collectors thing), which I can appreciate.
Also I remember there once was a competition when I was a kid (7-8 years old; in a magazine; I think from a German interactive crime-solving-kids book called "A case for you and the tiger-team") where you could win a gold bar. I was SO fascinated. Didn't win it though, unfortunately.
Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.
@Lloiddd The most late reply ever! Sorry but life has been more eventful than usual
I love to cook anything to be honest, I'm going through a Korean phase but it changes quite often. I prefer to cook food that is simple though, sometimes a complicated recipe isn't worth it...
I've been asked to make a YouTube channel by multiple people but it's never happened, maybe one day it will happen.
I don't consider myself funny but I make people laugh by accident which I guess is nice? My comedy script is just incase I run out of money, it will probably never see the light of day
@Lloiddd Apologizes, I saw this but I forgot to respond. But I like to write a bit of short stories to keep to myself. I tend to check out a lot of different writing prompts and give it a spin on my own.
I also like writing my thoughts down about video game stuff. For example, I wrote an entire review of Ys VIII, detailing pretty much my thoughts on it and comparing it to other games I've played. And I tend to leave a bunch of detailed posts everywhere on forums like here and Reddit.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
