DS: The Urbz: Sims in the City (and Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, if that counts). Couldn’t afford anything else. Bought circa June 2005 shortly after the Australian launch.
Wii: The Sims 2: Pets, Bully: Scholarship Edition, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, The Sims 2: Castaway (these were all bought before I actually bought the Wii as I was anticipating a holiday sale/bundle), and when eventually picking up the console, Wii Sports (obviously) and Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City. Console purchased in late 2008, so, I had quite a bit of catching up to do.
3DS: Super Street Fighter IV, The Sims 3, Nintendogs + Cats : Toy Poodle and New Friends. Bought on launch day.
Wii U: Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U. Bought on launch day.
Switch: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch (what a dichotomy!). Bought on launch weekend.
Porygon did nothing wrong.
Pokémon Sleep Friend Code: 1158-2327-1187
Now, now, we don't know if anyone was taking offence or just joking themselves but, just to be absolutely clear on the matter, English is a stupid language.
Any language where its own rules suggest the name of the language should be spelt 'Inglish' but it is instead spelt 'English' is obviously beyond stupid.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
My parents gave me and bought me several games throughout my childhood, but the first game I bought with my own money earned through a 9-to-5 job was Resident Evil 2.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,529 games (as of November 20th, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 3 games (as of November 23rd, 2025)
Can't remember the older stuff like the C64 and Amiga etc, but for consoles/handhelds:
GB: Super Mario Land
GBA: Mario Kart
DS: Pokémon Diamond, Zelda Phantom Hourglass, Prof Layton, Brain Training (Bought the DS as a 'family' present one Christmas so got a game for each family member - my game was Zelda and I hated it!)

Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure, Sega Bass Fishing
PS1: XCom & Gran Turismo
PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2 I think
PS3: Arkham Asylum

Switch: MK8 was a bundle title I think, so the first game I actually paid for separately was possibly Arcade Archives Double Dragon!
XBox Series S: Assassins Creed - Black Flag apparently!?! I had Game Pass at the time so was mostly just playing stuff on there. I still haven't played Black Flag...

PS3: Uncharted PS4: Tales of Zestiria PS5: Tales of Arise
Xbox 360: Tales of Vesperia Xbox One X: Sea of Thieves
PS5 = Kao the Kangaroo
Actually I got three PS5 games for my first PS5 games purchase, but I mentioned Kao the Kangaroo first since I love the new design of Kao and it looked deserved to be called first.
The other PS5 games I bought at the same time are The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf as the second PS5 game and Instant Sports Plus as the third PS5 game.
And Goodness knows
The wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...
PS5: Astrobot in a bundle, but No Mans Sky was the first I actually bought. I still haven't played anything on the PS5 other than Astro's Playroom yet though (which was really good BTW).
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Come December 4th, 2025 and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be my first Switch 2 purchase despite the fact I don't have one yet..
A lot of my earlier consoles were gifts with a game gifted to me as well. So I'll list the first game I personally purchased after the fact.

SNES & 64 were both hand-me-downs. Earliest games I remember playing were Super Mario World and Mario Paint. Got Rayman 2 and DK64 with my N64.
I've supp'd for months on naught but broth of bean
The first-ever time I remember picking out a game to purchase with my own money was Lode Runner for the Atari XE.
It was a neat process of looking through the games on the shelves and picking one that felt like it spoke to me. It wasn't the first game we had on the system, and I still recall my dad trying to convince me to get some farming game instead, but Lode Runner seemed cool and I loved that game. I also remember the process of getting it more clearly than any other purchase, barring recent years.
Later systems don't really matter, IMO. For a while, it was just "whatever set of games were included with the system by the time the whole bundle became cheap enough for me to afford it" and then when I started buying new-ish systems around the PS2 era, it was just what happened to be out and cheap at the time, and "flagship" titles didn't start to be part of the equation until even later, by which point other parts of life mattered more than a new game or two, so I don't really remember.
For every console I own or have owned? That's quite a few, hehe.
Disclaimer: As a child, I received many games and consoles as gifts, so the list only includes the games I paid for with my pocket money, etc. Since the N64 era, I've bought everything myself.
My earliest memories of gaming are of my uncle and his Atari 2600, where I played Missile Commander.

Arguing with stupid People is like playing Chess with a Pigeon. No matter how well you play Chess, the Pigeon will knock over all the pieces, poop on the board, and strut around as if it had won.
Well this is an arguable list for me, as most of this will be Christmas gifts, even going into when I was actually buying games with my own money. (only exceptions are GBA, 3DS and the non-Nintendo ones)
N64: Pokemon Snap
GBC: Tetris DX, Frogger, Jurassic Park 2, some WWF game
GBA: Super Mario Advance
GCN: Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, Smash Melee
DS: Super Mario 64 DS, Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits
Wii: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Twilight Princess, Metal Slug Anthology
360: Lost Planet, Kameo, Viva Pinata
3DS: Pilotwings Resort, Super Monkey Ball 3D
Wii U: ZombiU
Switch: Super Mario Odyssey
Ps4: Nier Automata
I'll be honest, I was shocked to find out how much I got N64 Pokemon releases wrong. I keep thinking they came out earlier than they did. Pokemon Snap did not come out until months and months after I got an N64, the first games I got for it were actually All Star Baseball 99 and a WWF game.
