I literally cannot deal with Final Fantasy VII. I have tried my hardest to finish it so many times but I always just stop caring. It is so poorly translated. It bores the snot out of me

@Apportal All of the games that you like I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I don't think I can say a game is overrated. They're just popular, and not my taste. I couldn't get into Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, but I know it's a very well made game.
I can appreciate the music and the scope of the game, with an interesting environmental setting. But that's pretty much all I'll allow it. Nearly everything else just needed to be tolerated.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Oh my God. That is truly a game to be tolerated. I can't even count on two hands all the stupid / annoying things in that game. It had many strengths too, but wow a lot of weaknesses

@alexntb I couldn’t get into ANY FF game to be honest 😂 the genre just isn’t my style of gaming. But some folks like the series so I respect that.
@WoomyNNYes 🤣 I think Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was an OK game, but my personal favorite is Returns for the Wii. I had such a fun time playing both of them, but Returns was just better IMO. Thank you!
@BabyYoshi12 I think 1-2 Switch was a great way to introduce ones to the switch, but I think it had a lot of wasted potential. For starters in my humble opinion it should have been less expensive, or better yet packaged with the switch. But I did like playing it with friends! I could never get into Splatoon 2 either, so you’re not alone 😂 thank you!
@gcunit what do you mean by “I haven’t unstuck the record yet”? 🤔 I couldn’t get into Xenoblade either. It had great graphics and an interesting story like you said, but play wise and controls were less than stellar 😂 thanks so much for posting!
Lol even the Final Fantasy games I like, it feels like I like them in spite of how annoying they are. But I can honestly say that Final Fantasy IX is one of the few RPGs worth its salt

@alexntb final fantasy vii definately hasnt aged well. I loved that game as a teenager, but now I can't really stand it. The localization just makes it feel dumb and awkward. The music and prerendered backgrounds are still good, but lose the rest.
I'm shocked by how many people like:
-Xenoblade 2
-The Last of Us (first game, havent tried the 2nd. Probably won't)
-Fortnite
-Minecraft
-Paper Mario

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.
Skyrim, maybe the problem is that I played The Witcher 3 before I first tried Skyrim, but god are the animations outdated, especially compared to TW3, the dungeons where unfair (there was a trap that instant killed you and you had to beginn the dungeon from the start), the world looks so dreary etc
Maybe the game was great back then in 2011, but it sure aged badly (imo)
I’m kidding! I understand your points. The camera was a bit buggy in the game and yeah, the motion levels did stink. But hey, opinions right? Thank you!
@mariomaster96 I played Skyrim at my friends house a while back and I loved it. Played it again a couple weeks ago and hated it 😂 it did age badly and the controls were awful IMO. Thanks for posting!
@Anti-Matter I forgot Fortnite! That game is truly Overated. My friend begged me to try it so I got it for the switch. Deleted it in the first day. I really don’t see the appeal 😂
Oh, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is so totally Overated. It’s funny to see people get so excited about it, when I never really understood. I couldn’t get used to the controls either. Thank you for posting!
Classic Final Fantasy. I do like IV well enough, but I never got on with I, II, or IX (which is the latest "classic" entry I've tried. Didn't dislike it, but I just sort of lost interest in it partway through. Maybe I'll go back to it one day though).
I love modern FF though. X (alongside the first Kingdom Hearts & Paper Mario) is what got me into JRPGs, recently replayed it on Switch & still love it. Also really digging VII Remake, which I'm currently playing, and despite it's mixed reputation I actually remember enjoying that Crystal Bearers spinoff on Wii.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 Nobody gets on with FFII! That game is a hard sell, even among JRPG fans. Heck, it’s a hard sell even for fans of Kiwazu, the creator. However, I have had a good time with original Final Fantasy - but only as the updated PSP/iOS version, which I’ve enjoyed enough to beat twice. Never tried the NES original - but that is really, really old school.
If we’re going to rag on old JRPGs, I’ll throw up a Secret of Mana. Lovely pixel art, nice music, quirky “story” (as far as 16-bit stories go), but the combat is just plain janky and having to find a save point after spending an hour or more finding my way through mazey worlds - I just kind of dropped it. Didn’t hate the hours I spent with it, but didn’t feel compelled to finish it and definitely wouldn’t rank it as a stone-cold classic.
@kkslider5552000 I’m sorry it offends you. This was just a silly post to see what others thought about other games. In no way am I trying to shame others for having different opinions.
@kkslider5552000 for me, Overated means something that wasn’t as good as you thought it was going to be. But I get what you’re saying. Sorry once again 😊
