I've been hooked to Asphalt 9 lately, on both PC and Switch. I miss playing arcade cabinets, so playing it with the Joy-Con wheel has become my preferred way to play it since it gives me that arcade racing experience I wanted. Also on Switch, squeezed in some Mario Kart 8 for the new tracks (again with the Joy-Con wheel), some Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog, and Pinball FX for the Trolls table.

The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

I bought Ghost Trick yesterday after seeing all the praise for it online and a friend telling me about how good it is, finished up with Chapter 6 last night and it's an absolute treat. The writing is fantastic with both an interesting story and a good joke like every other line, the puzzles aren't too challenging but they sure are a ton of fun, and oh MAN the characters are great. I didn't go in expecting too much, I played the demo and enjoyed it enough but wasn't sure if the whole game would be worth $30, but so far it's been a ton of fun and could very well end up high on my end of year ranking.

FFIV and Elden Ring. Might zip thru FFIV to get to the oracle games again

Cereza and the Lost Demon. Totally digging it. I'm absolutely in love with the art style and once the gameplay "clicked" for me (took a short bit) I've been hooked. I definitely see the criticism about the lack of challenge throughout but I'm having a blast and that's all that really matters. I'm trying really hard now to quit having/spending too much time on a "main game" (in my case it was anything Monster Hunter) and focusing on the never ending backlog!

I started playing some obscure video game called Tears of the Kingdom. I feel like I've done this joke several times already oh well.

I've yet to finish the tutorial area tbh, been a bit slow on playing too much of this one. I don't have a ton to say about it yet but while I do appreciate how its designed a lot, I do think the Great Plateau was such a brilliant first area for how it was designed despite still being non-linear. This one decided to be way more linear, maybe out of concern you'd find a way to get stuck on the wrong sky island at the wrong time, I dunno. I do feel like they have some more interesting ideas for the new...whatever they're called this time. Are they still runes?

I'm really interested what I'm gonna get out of this game. BOTW was brilliant but the main gimmick I know about this game isn't necessarily one I'd normally go nuts for. Maybe this game will be the exception.

@kkslider5552000 Yeah, for the tutorial area of TOTK, you have to get the three shrines on that group of islands and then go back big temple building to meet Raru. Each of those shrines gives you an ability (like BOTW great plateau did) so they're all crucial shrines. After the three shrines, when you get to Raru at the temple, he does the "one more thing" move and adds another shrine. But after that one-more-shrine, I think you leave the tutorial islands, and it's pretty awesome<3

A patched version of FFT War of the Lions on PSP Emulator on Steam Deck. Still waiting on that remaster Square

Also I don't know what I did wrong(or right in this case), I didn't even overlevel that much, but the infamous battle with Wiegraf was shockingly easy, and the battle with Velius wasn't too difficult

Been playing The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages recently on NSO. I've made it around halfway through Seasons on 3DS VC, but didn't play much of Ages, hence why I decided to play that. Been liking it too... I love a good classic Zelda game. I'll probably Seasons, then Ages on 3DS, and the other way around on Switch.

Just started The Witch's House MV on Switch. I never knew you could make a legitimately scary RPG Maker type game. it's a good game but I had to take a break to avoid nightmares.

Reaching the final stretch of the first Mega Man Legacy Collection, I started up Mega Man 6 for the first time yesterday.
Untitled
I was left pretty underwhelmed by Mega Man 5 overall: while I appreciated it's higher focus on the platforming side of Mega Man and the music/presentation was top-notch once again, it very much felt like every other aspect such as the basic enemies, combat and ESPECIALLY Robot Masters suffered greatly as a result and I felt pretty meh on the experience from the start until the end. Thankfully, 6 so far has pretty much fixed every issue I've had with it and then some, immediately hooking me in pretty much every aspect. The level design feels very well thought-out, the enemy variety is through the roof (shoutout to the panda/tanuki bots especially, those were a delight to see for the first time) and the Robot Masters are some of my favourite in the series so far honestly; varied attack patterns while still feeling fair and reactable, interesting weapons and a great bit of theming with half of them being elemental-based while the other half is weapon-based, leading you to naturally assume many of their weaknesses rather than it being guesswork like some of the previous entries.

I've taken down half of the original 8 so far (Tomahawk, Wind, Flame and Yamato Man respectively) and I'm just about to hop on again, absolutely great stuff so far and 6 may just overtake 3 as my favourite entry so far if this keeps up

Currently I am playing DooM Eternal on the Switch. I've already beaten it on the Xbox but I love it on the Switch

And to today I decided to start Super Castlevania 4. Currently I am on Level 7. It is very challenging for me even though I am a diehard Castlevania fan. I've beaten all Metroidvania CV games but the classic ones crush me The only one I have finished was Castlevania 1 Still the experience is just amazing.

Can't go wrong with Castlevania.

@Zuljaras i will be saving my castlevania sotn play through for October and halloween.

Just beat "Eldest Souls" - pretty brutal boss-rush game, kind of an isometric pixel-art soulslike.

Really enjoyed my time with it, but one of the most stressful things I have ever played - a few of the boss battles are among the hardest I have ever played!

Not sure what to move on to next, might try Cuphead?

Just wrapped up "Cereza and the Lost Demon". I really liked it. Now onto the next one on the backlog list (my goal from now till whenever is to focus on the backlog and not get tied up in any dominating "main" game).

I just started the Switch release of "Onimusha: Warlords". I missed this one back in that 'Golden Era' of gaming so I'm thrilled to be able to give it go now (got it real cheap on a super sale plus gold coins). The Switch has provided so much opportunity for me to catch up on previous generation(s) gems

Been playing a few games recently. I got back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after quite a lengthy hiatus. I did make a tiny bit of progress, but unfortunately I'm having trouble with this boss I'm at. I won't say anything else here because of spoilers.

I also played Dragon Ball FighterZ from the NSO game trial. I'm no hardcore Dragon Ball Z fan, but it is a decent fighting game. And I'm kinda bad at it, lol. I'm in no rush to get it since there are other games that I'm looking forward to getting, but I may get it on sale.

I'll be playing Splatoon 3 next because of the Splatfest. I got a few games in this week and finally picked my team, which is Love.

Pokemon TCG for GBC on switch. So glad it's finally out, I played it for hundreds of hours when it originally released and I'll probably do that again now.

Final Fantasy XVI (PS5) - FF is the most "hit & miss" franchise to me in gaming so I was a bit skeptical going in, however I'm glad to report that I'm loving this. In terms of gameplay I actually love the flow of the action based combat system (& FF switches things up so often I never really considered turn based battles to be a defining trait of the series) & the giant Kaiju-esque Eikon battles are awesome as get out. I do wish it had a slightly stronger party component (at least KH level) as your companions can kinda blend into the background outside of cutscenes to the point where someone has come or gone without me realizing sometimes, but it's not a huge issue, IMO. Similarly, while I think I prefer the aesthetic & tone of FFX or FFVIIR, the whole "gritty" thing hasn't put me off nearly as much as I thought it would (they even managed to squeeze in a Moogle!), the game is absolutely gorgeous, & the narrative is really gripping.

Zelda: TotK (Switch) - Really just started this over the weekend, and although I'm not in far enough yet to go into deep analysis, I will say I'm absolutely hooked so far. It helps that I haven't played BotW since 2018 (and I finished up the story in under 100 hours, so I never spent like 2-300 hours in it like some did to 100% it), so the world feels both familiar yet new (both because of all the stuff they did add to it, as well as the fact that I've just been away from it for so long). I absolutely love being blasted high into the sky from a tower and then gliding & diving to interesting marked locations.
