My original PlayStation stopped reading discs a few months after my original controller's (non dual shock) circle button died. My original PS2 stopped reading discs...started with blue then all discs. My PS3 has YLOD'd a few days after I opened it, but I was lucky enough to be able to fix it myself since it was out of warranty by that point and the store I bought it from was closed. My original Xbox 360 Elite kept getting e74 errors, but I upgraded, so it never really died on me, you can consider that it probably would have though. Really, I just don't have much luck with 1st version Sony releases I think, I've had no problems with the 2nd revision Sony console, but yea, I've come to learn Sony makes shoddy 1st versions of products. My original Xbox, Sega Dreamcast and all my Nintendo systems have been problem free.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
-My old Gameboy after years of pleasure and joy, just broke because of a rotten screen full of rust. -My Gameboy advanced's D-pad got busted so I had to get the SP version. -I sold my DS lite to my little cousin and after a year of use, most the top screen's pixel's were distorted, the hinges broke, and the L&R buttons stopped working. And you know what, He still finds ways to play it. Poor little guy, did not stand a chance. -The L&R buttons of my DSi only work for 9/10 pushes and I'm afraid it will get worse.
-Lastly, my old N-gage failed me as both a phone and a game console. And I thought I wouldn't need my gameboy anymore that time
Dog pooped on my Genesis Gamecube's laser messed up GBA's down on the dpad stopped working cuz of all the hours of Pokemon
Oh and the people with problems with the ds's shoulder buttons: put your mouth over it and blow. The buttons get dusty and you can blow the dust away and they'll work again
Lots of censorship here...

Xbox360 - Red Ring of Death DS Phat - A and B buttons no longer responded DS Lite - Damaged top screen, not even sure how that happened DS Lite - Touch screen no longer worked Wii - Disc drive had to be replaced DSi - R button no longer responded 3DS - Speaker's are starting to crackle.
The only consoles that survived was my Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP. No matter what you did to them (drop them, bang them, throw them, spill water on them) nothing went wrong with them, I guess they made things tough as heck back then...
I've only ever had an old Atari go out on me. Not sure what the problem was but I "fixed" it with aluminum foil.
My son on the other hand has been gaming for far less time than I have but has had two issues: Triforce DS = L button stopped working and no amount of compressed air would fix it. Hinge broke too. 3DS = Gyroscope was broken from the get-go. Nintendo's solution the first time was to replace the memory card (ha!) and then they finally replaced the 3DS when it was sent back the second time.
And that's why you should never upset your dog. They can be pretty passive-aggressive.
As for consoles that have failed for me: PSP: The screen started suffereing from the dead pixels problem that the earlier systems were known for. Dreamcast: Good system, crap laser mechanism. Playstation 1: See above.
The worst that has happened with my stuff is that my original brick Game Boy has horrible sound and glitches, and the protective screen covering fell off.

RRoD on the 360. have never had problems with either sony or nintendo systems (knocking furiously on wood right now!).
Same goes for me, except for the RRoD part. My discs are always completely mint, consoles always extremely carefully treated....and yet...the 360 failed.
my Vita... jk my wii dosent read disks and my DS lite broke, but FAIL... no they didnt fail me
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
Phat DS's hinge broke. DSi's R button didn't work. (You had to press extremely hard) Eventually the L button too. Wii wouldn't read discs so it had to be repaired.
Gotta go with the 360. Crapped out on me THE DAY the new Mortal Kombat game came out. So then I went and bought another one and the game wouldn't work in it either! So I'm done with Microsoft products.
My first ds lite took about 3-4 times down a flight of steps, before cracking the hinge after a small drop to a bed, the poor thing held on for another few months before it finally had some internal damage and now all it can do is blink a white light before dying. Also it's L and R buttons were shot.
My second ds lite still functions but the L and R button are dead, blowing has stopped working.
That's it for me but my Gameboy Advance takes a lot of pressure for the L and R buttons, but the might have always been stiff. My Colour is going as if it was brand new and it's been completely submerged in water once.
