I’ve played trough the Nier Games and xenoblade 2 I’m good with a slow burn but I understand why someone would get annoyed with a game that gets good 20 hours in Thats why I cant recommend Xenoblade 2 one of my top 5 games
this has less to do with amount of content or whether it takes a while to get good and more the game revolving heavily on and/or requiring you to spend good portions of it not doing the things that make the game good. So my opinion on how much I'm enjoying Xenoblade 2 at the time depended heavily on whether the last cutscene was interesting drama or bad comedy and whether the last major sidequest was paced well or had several nonsensical barriers to completing it that aren't fun to deal with. Even with my last time I was playing it, my memories are a mix of a fairly underwhelming blade quest and really fun combat challenges.
@VoidofLight There you are! I knew someone would bite. This is the unpopular opinions thread - I wasn’t stating a fact. And, I will add, consumers of art are allowed to disagree and find alternate interpretations to the creators. In this instance, I don’t care what GameFreak says - it’s a company line issued to sell games, not stone tablets from heaven.
If Nintendo tried to convince you that Super Mario Run was a mainline Super Mario title, I wouldn’t try to shout you down for not wanting to accept it.

Imagine if CD-i games were counted as mainline Mario titles...
Not that they existed, mind you. I'm saying that hypothetically if they ever did.
@Krull I mean, you can continue to not accept it, but you're pretty much going against what's factually stated. Legends is stated to be a mainline game, therefore it is. Saying it isn't is denying an official statement made by the creators of the game in favor for your own headcanon or ideas.

@kkslider5552000 I feel called out lol, granted I don’t like one more over the other. I like generations just as much as unleashed.
So I guess my unpopular opinion, is that I think unleashes combat isn’t nearly as bad as people say it is, it has problems sure, but there was so many combos you could do that I didn’t even attempted, if I had I’m sure they would had been even better. Not all of them were great, but I feel like a great majority was.
Oh and generations took every5ing we knew and loved about him, and made it great again.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Kermit1 Is it odd if I say I do this too, it’s just such a great space to think, maybe put some music through your ear buds headphones whatever as well, which bring me to! This comment is sponsored by raycon…

@Snatcher The bathroom is such an interesting place, you can light a candle and "boom" it's a spa, or sit in the dark thinking deeply about life while thinking you're going to die thanks to Taco Bell.
I seem to have lots of unpopular opinions but have generalized to save me writing too much. I am a Nintendo fanboy. So therefore most of my opinions will be based from that standpoint and therefore are pretty unpopular even on this nintendo fan site.
Link to the past is the most overrated Zelda game. I get what it did for the series. I get that the series wouldn’t be the same or possibly not exist without it. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t and can’t be surpassed. The game just doesn’t feel fun to play. Movement is stiff and the dungeons just throw a bunch of enemy’s on the screen instead of relying on actual puzzles. Plus the characters just feel bland. Compare the seven maidens to the Seven Sages in a link between worlds. The sages all look unique and have some importance to the story other than helping seal Gannon. Meanwhile the maidens are bland and don’t feel important. I have tried to play the game on three occasions and I just couldn’t do it. It was boring and felt like a chore to get through.
Currently playing: Pokemon Soul Silver, Mario RPG

I disagree on the gameplay front (or at the very least, you are not wrong which is why I'm impressed its as fun as it is), but I do agree that LTTP is a boring world with a lack of genuinely interesting characters.
Which for an SNES non-RPG would normally be a non-issue but considering how the literal next Zelda game did so much more on the Gameboy from that perspective, and plenty of Zeldas are good at story, it does stand out.
@blindsquarel I feel the same. I've had trouble getting through a Link to the Past. Got to the Dark World and then quit. However, with A Link Between Worlds, I was able to get through that game all the way through at least twice. It's such a great game, and it's one of my favorite Zeldas ever made.

@kkslider5552000 I saw your other post saying that you like the first Paper Mario over its sequel. Just curious, what makes you prefer the original over TTYD?

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
