I just wonder if NintendoCapriSun and Chuggaaconroy's let's plays had anything to do with it.
Maybe slightly. I've noticed way less hatred for Sunshine since their LPs which are some of their more popular videos ever. But Majora's Mask has always been considered awesome by fans, just more of them realized that as time went on I assume. Especially since later Zelda games do basically everything OOT did while Majora's Mask is still just its own thing.
No one should quote that for the sake of people with worse computers, but the average of my opinion of those games is seriously like a 9.2 or something around there. And I'm someone who would probably never go past a 9.7 outside of my top 5 favorite games. And keeping in mind that both PH and Zelda 2 are a 7 at best for me.

Believe or not, those are all 16 games in the main series. Yup, all 25 years of history in one post.
Backloggery. Now playing: 3D Dot Game Heroes, Donkey Kong, EarthBound Beginnings, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+.
I got my Hyrule Historia today! IT'S SO COOL. It's like the bible of the legend of zelda. I love seeing all the concept art for characters. Some of them I like more than the official ones.

I think Majora's Mask was underrated a few years ago, but recently I've seen more and more people putting it as their #1 Zelda game so it's moved out of the underrated category for me. The only Zelda game I would say is truly and underrated gen is The Minish Cap since nobody seems to talk about it.
I dunno, I think TMC gets a certain degree respect. I'm personally not a big fan of it (though that hasn't stopped me from playing through it 3 times...), but I don't think it's too uncommon to see people list it as one of their favorite Zelda titles.
Until some of the VC talk started up recently, though, I almost never saw anybody talk up the Oracle series, to the point where those two games almost seemed to be forgotten by history. Which makes me a little sad, because aside from Majora's Mask and maybe Link's Awakening, they're the most fun I've ever had with the series (which, believe me, is saying something). And as much as I'd like to blame the GBA's launch for overshadowing them, I'm not sure how legit that claim would really be, because I'm certain that both games sold very well at the time (iirc, Ages and Seasons sold nearly 4 million copies each). Oh well, I'm looking forward to seeing people's reactions when they get to play them for the first time/re-discover them when they hit the eShop.
And nobody talks about Four Swords Adventures much either, although that one's much more understandable to me; to really get the most out of it, you had to have 4 GBAs and 4 link cables on hand, as well as three other people that were actually willing to play it with you. So yeah, it could be quite cumbersome. It was devilish fun if you had all of those things, though.
EDIT: I'll agree that Majora's Mask is no longer underrated, though it was once. A significant portion of the fanbase considers it to be the best game in the series and, graphics aside (though I still love it's art design), I don't think time has been unkind to it.
@RevolverLink
Just from the videos i've watched, articles i've read, top tens and stuff like that, TMC is slightly less talked about than the Oracle games but that's really just from my experience. In all honesty I would say that Zelda II is the most overlooked game in the series because I enjoyed it miles more than the original. I know plenty of people hate Zelda II, but I actually enjoyed it a lot and not many people give it credit beyond being the "black sheep" of the Zelda series.
