I'm back from my trip to the Irish Open!
It was a fantastic time all around. Getting to see all of my golfing heroes was so exciting and seeing all of the intricacies throughout the course and the shots the golfers were taking was utterly mesmerising. I would highly recommend if you have even a passing interest in golf to go to at least one tournament in your lifetime, they are far more engaging than you would think on the surface (I was at the Irish Open for over 6 hours yet it felt like the time flew by).
However, I also managed to get a bunch of gaming stuff done as well in between what with the downtime during the 3 hour+ journey to and fro:
1. I started Mario Galaxy again for the 3rd (technically 5th) time and, like always, have been having a great time. I can't think of another game where I'm this excited to 100% it for the third time of asking but honestly? Mario Galaxy is just that damn good man. I'm currently on 25 Stars and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
2. I played a LOT of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu as well in an attempt to try and find some shinies during the aforementioned downtime. I won't go into too much detail here since I'm making a post in the appropriate thread about it but to summarise: things got both insanely lucky and unlucky at the same time.
And 3. During the Irish Open, watching the golfers whack their shots with such speed and precision, it made me get a hankering for Mario Golf again since it had been a fair while since I had last played it. Needless to say, I am now once again hopelessly addicted to it's gameplay loop (I put in over 3 hours into it on my trip ALONE. Help me). However, there was one bit of unfinished business that I had to take care of when revisiting it: unlocking Luigi. This green demon has been taunting me since Mario Golf came to the NSO service with his absurdly 4-Dimensional chess-esque strategies, constantly hammering me with win after win. And, when I started this, it went about the same way as before. There was a point where I even got a 5-1 lead on him and he somehow clawed it back to bring it to sudden death.... and then proceeded to win the whole thing. It took me a few hours to recover after that one but eventually, after at least a dozen attempts over the course of two months, I got on a run where it was neck and neck between me and him going into the middle holes. I played the best golf of my entire life and he miraculously kept making mistake after mistake. On the very last hole, I managed to clinch an extremely long putt and the demon had been exorcised; LUIGI. WAS. MINE.
All in all, it was a bonkers 3 days in more ways than one and I'm hoping and praying I get to do this again next year!
I'm not 'salty' or anything just at a boiling point, next week I'm going on vacation and seeing family I've not seen in 6 years as well as going on a plane which is a whole other level of stress for me. My favourite YouTuber passed away and it hit me like a freight train. Then I'm getting called out for being challenged when someone is 'rude' if that word means anything any more. Next year I'm graduating and stressed out as all heck about maybe going to college, even though I'm going to take a year long break after I graduate to get a job and think about it. On here some of you people are the only none family people I know. I have no friends, and very little communication skills as well as internet interaction skills.
@Kermit1 The detox will do you a world of good, plus it won't be something you're worrying about while on holiday. I did some time off myself before Pokemon Legends Arceus released and it was extremely soothing to not have a constant need to check things every so often. Have a great time off and I'll see you again soon!

@Kermit1 Everyone benefits from a digital detox every now and again. (Saying that, it's probably about time I did one too lol). As for the last year of school before college....Yes, it can be pretty stressful at times. List everything you need to do and when it's due to help prioritize, and don't procrastinate too much. Senior year stuff, including applying for scholarships, figuring out what you want to do after you graduate...it's a lot. Most importantly, remember to reserve some time/breathing space for yourself to relax and do something you truly enjoy. And don't skimp out on sleep if you can help it; a good night's sleep does wonders.
Enjoy your vacation, and I hope you have a nice break.

Oh, I will take a break for a while too.
The newest articles I saw currently just got my nerves like beyond disgusting. 😤
I will return on the next morning.
@Kermit1 Taking some time away from the internet is probably a good idea. It'll still be here when you get back. Hope things go well for you in the interim. If you find yourself getting too stressed, try engaging in breathing and mindfulness exercises.
Out of interest, who was the youtuber?
