@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot I didn’t even realize until recently that candy corn is kind of icky. I think it would taste better maybe in a trail mix of some kind with peanuts and pretzels, but on its own, candy corn is kind of gross and I find the taste isn’t unique. It really just tastes kind of like sprinkles, but way more sugary. The brand of candy corn I got was Brach’s, but it was probably one of the worst impulse purchases I have made.

Thank you for the compliment! I really like a lot of everyone’s avatars on NL. I have a thing for constantly changing mine really fast. I did have some issues with cropping the original picture to fit my avatar (like the character getting off center) but I was able to make it fit. If you are curious, the character is Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie. Thought I’d change my avatar since they recently added Tooie to NSO. I have heard of Azur Lane before, but I haven’t played it.

@Tyranexx
Thank you.
I was not expecting my tuxedo cat will give a birth yesterday.
When I was at home last afternoon, I heard a squeaky voice from my cat cage and I was thinking a baby kitten voice. And it was right.

@Anti-Matter Kitten cries are indeed very distinct! I love cats and am definitely hardwired for little mews in particular lol.

@Tyranexx Yeah, it’s definitely helping me a lot, plus I am kind of reading some books on small occasions too. I haven’t found a new movie to watch, but I think I will find one soon. I really enjoy movies a lot more now.

Yeah, whenever I buy a new art supply or art medium that I haven’t done before and I find that it doesn’t work for me or I can’t get used to it, I just used to let it sit and move on to the art supplies I am used to using, like what I did when I purchased an oil paint set on impulse, damaged my paintbrushes and made a lot of unsalvageable paintings, and realized after that I didn’t have all the necessary materials (or skills) to use them. But, I think from now on I’ll be donating art supplies I don’t use a ton instead of tossing them out or letting them sit and take up space. Trashing unused art supplies hurts me so badly! Though, when I was looking through my art supplies recently and choosing what to donate, I did find quite a few items that were unusable and didn’t work anymore, so declutterring definitely helped with finding what art materials worked and which ones didn’t work and took up an unnecessary amount of space. I definitely should have done this months ago!

Yes, cuz while some fan translations are close to the original, I think I have come across some online that people have said is inaccurate or full of errors, or significantly change things up that deviate from content in the original. But, I also do agree that the game not actually getting an official English release is why wiki pages on YW4 are mostly empty with info and details on its story. Since those wikis rely on official and canon info, they likely would not want to use any translations that don’t come from Level-5. If it was maybe a fan wiki, then maybe it would use a fan translation, but most wikis do not use fan translations or info since some of the stuff might be erroneous. Although I don’t understand Japanese, I am assuming Level-5’s official English translations of the YW games are closer to the original Japanese versions, though I have heard that the English versions changed the settings of the three mainline games to America, or tried to make the game appear like it took place in America instead of Japan. I am happy that Level-5 hasn’t gone bankrupt and that it appears they are getting support from Nintendo, cuz I really want them to continue releasing YW games in America, even if they don’t localize YW4. In fact, I think Nintendo worked as the publisher for the 3DS YW games in America, so they have assisted them before by acting as a game publisher.

I remember I tried to take Japanese lessons in Duolingo maybe three or four years ago, and I can’t remember how well I did, but I think I did okay, but I eventually stopped using the app and didn’t make much progress with my Japanese practice. I also did take Spanish classes in the past, but I never really understood the words or seriously practiced them because of other stuff I had to do. I have heard that a lot of people said Japanese is the hardest language to learn, also because of the writing styles. However, I still do think that translator apps come in handy for me, even if the translation is kind of rough, and it also helps when Google Translate shows the written form of a Japanese word and shows how to pronounce it, so I have become a bit familiar with certain Japanese characters and letters by the way they look.

My screen protector hasn’t really cracked from falling luckily, but I remember I was walking outside with my phone in hand a few years ago and fell on some rocks, and so did my phone. My screen protector got kind of cracked on the sides, and the outside of the phone screen also got somewhat scratched, but my phone screen was still in good condition. Screen protectors are very fragile when you are trying to take them off of the phone screen or when you drop them, so even though my current screen protector has some cracks on them from that rhythm game incident, I just leave it alone since the protector still works, and also because I don’t want to damage the thing any further. I do think I could find some extra screen protectors for my phone model online, but I’ll just wait a bit until my current protector shows more damage and age. I find that screen protectors have a ton of longevity.

I don't think Id like it though.

@Tyranexx Well, I no longer really care about Yo-kai watch. Ni No Kuni 2 has kinda the opposite problem from 1. The battles are good, but the story, and traversing the world, not as much.
I finally finished Paper Jam! Still meh though. Other M was kinda neat imo. A few things got annoying, the "detective mode" allowed you to just be trapped until you found the one small thing you needed to.

I'm hoping to finish Digimon Xros Wars (Japanese name for Fusion) before too long. I never really found the lack of evolution to be an issue though. The third season kinda stands on its own. Never got dubbed. But I can sorta see why. Lots of Ghost Game type stuff.
Tamers is one of my fave seasons too! Though, I wouldn't be shocked if Adventure, in its OG subbed form, overtakes that. Imo, Adventure tri was a nice fun collection of six movies, translated into episodes. But, as much as it left to build off of, and as much as it built off the OG, it still kinda didn't know that much of what it was doing, and the ending, uhhhh, kinda sucked. Then Last Evolution Kizuna and 02 The Beginning came, and the latter retconned a pair of very important characters from tri.

I recently found out that your Switch/Splatoon 3 profile name is an anime. Totally random when I was looking up a voice actress' portfolio. I was going through the list and like... waaait a minute! That name looks familiar! 😂😂

@Budda Yup, Space Dandy! That's i! It was on cable tv here back around 2014, and had good english voice acting. It starts kinda weird, but I liked it. It has some cool science fiction plots. I rarely like or watch anime otherwise, but I did like Space Dandy. It has a nice sound to it for a user name too. Another reason behind choosing Space Dandy is because it contains the name "andy". It's VERY slick. 😁

@Pastellioli
Ow, speaking about Yokai Watch 3, after I played Tempura version (Japanese version) I personally prefer the Japanese than the English version for some reasons:
1. The name translation in English version looked very odd by changed the USA into BBQ that also changed the currency from $ Dollar into BBQ Dollar
2. The Japanese voiceover sounds better than English version in my opinion.
3. A lot of English names for the places don't look matched with the place demographics.
For example, San Fantastico from Yokai Watch 2 to 3 doesn't look matched with the city looking as it was Nagisaki in Japanese version that basically from Nagasaki and the city itself really looks like Nagasaki with the retro maritime looking city. San Fantastico (from San Francisco name) doesn't even look like Nagasaki. Osaka was the closest to looks like San Francisco.
4. Also, the major change of the beginning of storyline that made Keita's Dad suddenly can talk in different language after arrived on the other country, for me it was more make a sense in Japan version than English version because here is my thought.
In Japan version, they cannot talk in English and suddenly Keita's dad can talk English because he got inspirited by Merican Yokai.
But in English version, since they can talk English from beginning, after they moved to BBQ city, Nate's dad suddenly can talk with Southern / Aussie accents after get inspirited by Merican Yokai.
For me, the concept of unable to talk in completely different language then suddenly they can talk sounds more make a sense than their accent got changed.

Btw, I have accumulated more than 330 hours of Yokai Watch 3 Tempura 3DS.
Slugger is one of my favorite Yokai from Yokai Watch 3 since I like the muscular dude looking creatures with sporty looking outfits.

@Pastellioli I tend to go through some of my stuff every year or so (sometimes longer I'll admit) to try to make room for more space. This has worked wonders for my mental health. I donate what I don't need that's salvageable and either repurpose or toss the rest. I've made cleaning rags out of old shirts and containers from old Tupperware. The best part about donation is that someone else can use what we don't need.

I don't really have anything to add regarding Yo-Kai Watch, fan translations, and whether we'll ever receive an official game again. But I am glad Level-5 is still very much relevant. Despite some missteps, the studio's IPs still have plenty of potential. Even Holy Horror Mansion if they play their cards right.

I legit wish we could just download languages straight to our brains and know them lol. I am honestly jealous of people who grew up in multilingual households. Part of the reason my high school offered German was related to the fact that many of my home area's original settlers were from Germany; most were farmers and tradesmen/women who came over during the 1800s. I also didn't go to a large school - it was rural - so they could only afford one foreign language teacher. I know they offered French previously. Spanish after I left. Now I think they're moving back to French last I heard. I like learning, but languages can get particularly involved and take a ton of practice. I usually don't have the time or patience these days.

Screen protectors are definitely a great investment, especially for phones and other frequently used touch screens. I admittedly never invested in them on my DS systems though. I didn't like how they could impact touch screen inputs, or their "gummy" look and feel.

@Mariotag That's fine, I understand moving on if you decide a game isn't for you. But yeah, I've heard Ni No Kuni 2 is the opposite of the first in many ways. Fans of one game often seem to dislike the other in my experience.

I will concede the detective mode in Other M could be mildly annoying, but I don't recall ever being very bothered by it. Glad you finished Paper Jam. I'll play that one as well at some point, but Dream Team is up next when I get to it.

I completely forgot Digimon season 6 was originally called Xros Wars! I actually prefer that name now that I think about it. I didn't dislike the fusing per se, I just missed normal Digivolving lol. The first two seasons are very close to season 3/Tamers, but I have to give the edge to the latter for some killer new designs and the darker/more mature content. Going back, a few things went over my head back then. You're reinforcing some other feedback I've heard about the Digimon Adventure Tri movies, though I do still think I'll check them out sometime. I'll just go in with an open mind first. Knowing how hardwired I can be for nostalgia though, I suspect I'll still prefer the original anime.

@Tyranexx I think I should look through some old stuff more frequently, I think the times I look through stuff I don’t use is rarely or maybe once a year if I were to take a guess. Alongside my art supplies, I do have a single Funko pop of a video game character that I do want to donate or give away since I don’t have much use for it, but I’m unsure of what to do with it, though I think I’ll come to a decision very soon. I am not really into buying game merchandise or collecting, so if I did have game merchandise I would donate it, but I am considering buying a Banjo-Kazooie plush or something like that at one point. I would love to own something small for a game series I really like. I also love seeing those really huge merchandise collections online, the dedication people put into those is impressive and amazing.

Ooh, making cleaning rags out of shirts was very common for me and my family years ago. Recently, we had towels that had a bunch of holes in them, so I repurposed them into small towels instead of trashing them, and similar to that, I also kept empty olive jars and used them as pencil holders. It feels great finding ways to repurpose old stuff and donating items! Just the thought of someone finding joy or use out of something I never really used makes me happy.

It also makes me glad Level-5 is becoming more relevant now. I just hope that they release more Yo-kai Watch games after Holy Horror Mansion. I’d love to play more of the games since I’ve only played the first two and some mobile spin-off called Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble back in the past.

I also wish that I could instantly speak languages too! That is very interesting about your school and the reasons they offered German. Some of my family members speak Spanish, but I unfortunately never picked up on most of the words or trying to practice them. Coincidentally, today I was trying to speak some sentences in Spanish, but my pronunciation was off. I also wouldn’t have the time to practice another language, and I would maybe assume for me, it would take a few years for me to fully understand.

Speaking of screen protectors, my 2DS handheld does have one, but only for the touch screen at the bottom, since that one is used a lot for the games I play and is likely to get damaged. I never got one for the top screen and one day I accidentally scratched it right in the center. It luckily wasn’t anything too big or serious, but I still am bothered that I let that happen.

@Anti-Matter I haven’t played 3, but I have heard a bit of the localization changes they made to the English version, since in the English versions of the 3DS games, they changed the setting to America and made the human characters American, so they had to change parts of 3’s story to fit the localization, but I can definitely see why parts of the original Japanese version work more better than in the English version, since in the original version I heard that Keita/Nate and his family move from Japan to America, but in the English version, since they changed the setting to America, I heard that the move was changed to another part of America, and the characters there had exaggerated accents instead.

Your drawing looks nice! I have seen a few of your drawings in the artist thread and I really like them a lot. I really like the design of a lot of the yo-kai in the games. They are just so creative, plus really fun to draw too! My favorite yo-kai design-wise are Jibanyan (and pretty much all the feline yo-kai), USApyon, and Komasan, since I really like animals and mythology a ton and the animal yo-kai look so fun. Slugger looks so cool.

@Tyranexx Detective mode was the reason for one of the main points where I got stuck in my first Other M run... Paper Jam still has the boss arena for me, as well as collectibles. I missed one bros move. I liked both Ni No Kuni games. Though, the first one grated on me after a while, (I went for full 100% completion), and the second one, I missed out on alternate fighting styles as part of dlc.

Yeah, seasons 1 and 3 were both really impressive for Digimon. I liked the darker tone for Tamers, as well as this apparent deeper connection between the tamers and the digimon, which culminated in the megas. If 02 had gone its original planned route, it would have been better imo. I read somewhere there was a fight during production, and the staff broke up, which is why the dark ocean, which was originally meant to be its own arc, never got fleshed out.
I'm looking forward to the 2025 project.
