I will say, the review read like a 10 and the cons seemed like they were just there to have something to complain about.. Kinda like when your writing an essay and need to add some fluff to hit the page limit. It doesn't add anything to the essay, but you need it to fulfill a requirement.
But it is sad how anything less than perfect is seen as a disapointment. A 9 is still an incredible game and basically the same quality wise as a 10.

@blindsquarel It does kinda feel like that I agree. Like difficulty can be a con I guess but it’s a Mario game, though I don’t think difficulty should make the game lose a point, but then the con where “it didn’t do anything groundbreaking” comes in which is such an odd one to me, it’s a Mario game, it’s a working formula.
And look I’m not saying that’s not something that can be complained about but like you said the review read just fine and then bam the cons kinda slap you in the face for no reason lol.

The point about the game not being groundbreaking was the worst critique. Difficulty, while subjective, is a fair point. But Wonder is being praised as the best and most innovative 2D Mario since world, yet its not groundbreaking enough? What did the reviewer want Nintendo to do, have Mario fight demons with a gun and make him curse every few minutes?

@blindsquarel Right? 2d Mario as been the same things for a while, maybe I would understand if it was the 3ds 2d game, as that game was just Mario but you collect coins? I never played it so maybe there was more but that’s how I saw it. Then you have Mario U and that’s just Mario gain! Mario wonder just form the mechanics shown alone makes it more innovative then the other 2d Mario’s, so like you said I can’t really understand why it 2as not innovative enough, they can’t Chang the game completely, I’m not sure what you can add to make it more innovative, make it a rayman like platformer I guess? And I even admit this for botw 2, that they can’t change it completely, it needs to still be botw.

Twitter may (and I wish I was joking about this) block access to the site to ALL users in Europe due to Elon Musk being pressured by European legislation to address the levels of toxicity found on the site.
While I'm doubtful it'll actually go through (given how MASSIVE Europe is as a continent), it sucks that this even has to be a potential fear to begin with. I only just started using Twitter less than a year ago and have made so many fantastic mutuals on there and potentially losing all of them thanks to Mr. Elongated Muskrat not wanting to take responsibility for the site's sharp decline under his tenure? It sucks man: plain and simple.
