I'm gonna have to wait until I learn how long it takes to beat all of "Princess Peach Showtime" before I decide to get it or "Super Mario RPG".

Gah, the new Direct was good! A new F-Zero, Tomb Raider remastered trilogy, the Mario Kart 8 Course Pass' final update, Princess Peach Showtime! I'm so glad that's coming out right before my birthday in April. Between the game reveals, the new F-Zero, and the new Trolls Band Together trailer, watching Elemental, I had a great day.

Nice, that's cool. I still haven't preordered SMBW yet, but I still want to do that. Maybe in the next month, that sounds like a feasible time to do so.

Oh gosh, I remember hearing that about Mortal Kombat II. I think Modern Vintage Gamer made a YouTube video about that? Exactly, it is pretty much pay to win. Many arcade games from the 80s and 90s were like that. Where, if you wanna see more of Ms. Pac-Man's mazes for example, you'd have to pump in more quarters if you run out of lives. Yeah, Smash has much simpler controls compared to something like Street Fighter, and the Nintendo characters literally drew me in anyway, so I was able to get into it. On the Pokemon games, thanks.

Absolutely, there do exist good licensed games as well. Disney Illusion Island is honestly really good, and I do want to play more of it - it should be easier to get more time into it, since Splatoon 3's Splatfest is over. Yeah, it sucks when the internet goes out... even more so if you can't play your games.

Oh gotcha, I know that feeling... though I was told that plane accidents are actually quite rare, more so than car accidents. I wouldn't be in a plane until I was in my 20s. I'm not too keen on how the plane tilts while it's turning, kinda makes me feel uneasy. Though I do understand that's just how planes make a turn. Oh gotcha, I forgot about Pilotwings. Didn't play the games too much, but I did play a bit of Pilotwings 64 on NSO+EP last year.

Same here, I used to play Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed online as well, but there typically wasn't a lot of players. Maybe like three others at most.

That's cool. Yeah, the live-action remakes pretty much tell the same stories, and the animated originals are generally more charming to me. Actually, I haven't paid much attention to the remakes because of that.

Yeah. Nintendo could have gone that route, but I'm really glad they chose to add more characters beyond those four, even if they all play identically. It's cool that the Yoshis are playable too, even if they make the game easier. Which is actually good, it makes SMBW accessible to everyone.

Nice, I always have the habit to pre-order a few weeks before release if I pre-order a game. I think I'm going to get the Steam version of Trolls Remix Rescue first, just in event I get the Switch version for Christmas. It's basically tradition, a friend and I get each other a game every Christmas, so I'm going to wait on the Switch one in event that that is the game. He loves Metroid, I surprised him with Metroid Dread.

He did, and he is not wrong, lol. The arcade version is brutal because of the cheating CPU, even when set to very easy. It makes me wonder about other versions. I don't have the SNES or Genesis version to try, but I do have the DOS version from GOG, and very easy is easy, I can get to the second to last fight no problem, while the arcade version destroys me from fight three on. Yup, it's kind of funny given pay to win is a term some use for F2P games, but it can be applied to arcades. You're welcome.

Yeah, I could think of a couple of cartoon and movie tie-ins that were good too. The Cars games, they ended up being good racing games. Jimmy Neutron Attack of the Twonkies ended up being faithful to the cartoon it was based on, and so on. I don't think all licensed games are bad, some can be great experiences when care is put into the gameplay and being faithful to the source material. It does suck, that's why I love DRM-free PC games the most.

Yeah, it's just a fear I have. Yup, kind of like that. I watched someone play flight sims on PC, and it seems like an interesting genre. Piloting a plane, and I got a taste of it with the classic game Strike Commander.

Transformed had some players online up until Mario Kart came out, I played it online when I got my Wii U 9 years ago. Plenty did play Sonic & All-Stars Racing on Wii, some nights the lobby was packed.

Yeah, honestly, I haven't seen many live action remakes, only a few, and one in theater, being Aladdin.

Indeed. Also, how about that Princess Peach: Showtime. All the abilities Peach is going to have looks so much fun!

@Sunsy I often do private browsing, but I do stay logged in on PC as long as I keep the session open. It's a privacy habit left over from college. The nice thing about many mobile devices is that their autocorrect and vocabulary features can learn, so they do pick up on some names and titles.

Skipping the spoiler tag since I'd like to at least watch the first film sometime, but I had no idea Poppy was a princess. I just figured she was friendly and well-known among her troll kind lol.

Good habit to have. I mostly use private browsing whenever I want to watch a YouTube video I don't want recommended. Gets annoying when videos you don't want to see get recommended. That is true, I had a good laugh when my phone learned a word I've been typing, lol.

That's fine, that's why I spoiler it. She is, it's in the summary and trailer to the movie IIRC. She is a friendly character to the other trolls, if you ever watch the movie, you'll see.

The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

Sonic Adventure 2 might be one of the more overrated games ive played. I haven't reached team Dark yet, by the Tails and Knuckles stages are a slog to get through and some of the sonic stages have some really bad level design. Im going to finish it, but the only enjoyable part has been the sonic stages and even those are frustrating at points.

Why does a random adult animated sitcom have better parody country music than music that plays on the radio?

Modern country music is just pop with beer and heartbreak as the only themes possible.

Pretty much lol

Ooof...gotta say, Smartfood White Cheddar popcorn is guilty pleasure of mine. Gotta get another bag tomorrow...

@blindsquarel I actually share that sentiment nowadays. And I used to love the hell outta that game too. Sorry...heck. Am I allowed to say "hell" on here? I'll just stick with "heck" to be safe. But it's gotten to the point that...yes it's the best Sonic 3D game. But no it isn't the GREATEST Sonic 3D game, that it's, as you said, overrated at times. I tend to favor Sonic adventure as my go-to Sonic 3D game. And Sonic Unleashed.

While that one has it's problems, I do like the scope of the levels & the visuals are so godly. That you think you're playing a game made by Pixar. And it holds up very well after all these years. But that's my take on that.

But I must apologize for the text of...uh...texts. Words? Ugh, I should be in bed right now. Pulling all-nighters kinda makes me outta of it. so I bid you all a good, or pleasant, night.

It definitely has a lot going for it. Sonic and Shadows levels are, for the most part, great. The story is really good for a sonic game, and the music is really good. But that is it, and when 2/3 of the game is terribly designed mech and treasure hunt levels it just leaves me wanting the game to be over. I will say that, so far, the dark story is much more fun than the hero side due to Shadow controlling better than Sonic.

Now that we got a remake of TTYD, we need to start bombarding twitter with #RemasterSuperPaperMario

Even though I never beat SPM, I have so much nostalgia for it; like genuinely a lot to the point where I would have an Arlo-level reaction if we ever got a remake of SPM

It’s amazing how Paper Mario fans will turn their favorite game getting remade into a way to hate on the newer games. Best example I can find is Chuggaconroy. In his reveal reaction he spends most of it trashing Sticker Star instead of actually talking about TTYD. Then he did the whole burying Sticker Star and dancing on it thing in twitter. I know that this shouldn’t bother me, but why use a remake of a beloved game as a way to trash one you don’t like?

While Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't dislike F-Zero, he doesn't care about it as much as the other Nintendo franchises he's helped create (as noted by series co-creator Takaya Imamura), being far more enamored with Star Fox and Pikmin — to say nothing of his more successful series. He was genuinely surprised when told during the Wii U era that there was a lot of Twitter support for a new F-Zero game, as due to the series' declining sales, he believed that people had grown tired of the games.
