@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yep. I remember when streaming was THE cable beater, but in some ways I think the general concept is subsuming cable in terms of how bleh it is. Though that partially depends on how many services one ends up subbing to.
I managed to go see PIB 2 last night before some bad weather rolled in. I gotta say, it was a pretty decent film! JH is shameless, almost laughably so. Not even a "conscience" could help the dude! XD I did like the darker aspects too, though I can see why those would've bothered some parents (though PG should always come with an asterisk). I just couldn't believe they actually resorted to "swearing" via the bleep trope. XD
@Sunsy I don't use GOG, though I know there's plenty on there I'd like too. I only buy things on Steam if they're on sale, though once in a great while I'll pick up a freebie if I know it's good. Such as when SteamWorld Dig 2 was briefly free awhile back. I've paid for the Switch version however (physical). And the regular Doki Doki Literature Club is free on there too.
Outside of hobby shopping, I basically only shop on a need to basis. Grocery shopping isn't too bad as long as a store isn't crowded, but the only good places for "things" around here are Walmart and Dollar General. I REALLY dislike going to the former. Especially because they've mostly gone self checkout.
@MarioLover92 Happy belated birthday! I hope it was a good one! I hope your celebrations were full of many things Mario...and cake! (Or whatever other awesome foods you prefer)
I got MPT via a My Nintendo discount when they were available. So not quite 50% off - more like somewhere from 30-40% - but even that purchase was more than worth it. Definitely a trio of quality games. I wouldn't be against trying Hunters again, but only if it's remastered to where the controls aren't tanky and awkward.
Glad you're enjoying Planet Robobot! It seems to rank pretty high on many Kirby fan lists. Not sure if I'll play that for my next Kirby title when I'm in the mood (just finished Triple Deluxe recently) or cave to Kirby and the Forgotten Land since it showed up in my Christmas haul this year. My first experience piloting a mech in anything was ironically in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@Sunsy Ah nice! I love space too, other than Star Wars The Martian has to be one of my FAVORITE movies, so it's nice that Marvel has a space movie too! I kinda watch Marvel movies more when they come to Disney+, so I'm looking forward to that! Super Mario Bros should be an interesting movie, and I've enjoyed the Trolls movies(Which is funny because I didn't think I would, but they managed to win me over), so I'm curious what Trolls 3 will be about!
Cool! I saw the first two Guardians sometime after getting Disney+. Thor Love and Thunder was my first Marvel theater movie, because of it I got to see the Guardians on the big screen. My friend showed me the trailer and decided to go with him to get out of the house. Hoping Guardians 3 will be next. Nice to meet someone else who enjoyed the Trolls movies. Me too, I'm still waiting for a trailer, not much is known except Trolls 3 was announced in late 2021.
Hopefully, I'll see it in a theater this time. Did luck out with Trolls World Tour as two local theaters showed it this past summer.
@Sunsy thats weird is it just because copyright the music was changed. Because music is pretty integral to the trolls franchise messing with it is messing with the core of trolls. I wouldn’t think that is something that would come up ever
I don’t find Christmas music ever really popping up for me. I do however have to resist listening to the ghostbusters theme every time it’s recommended to me
I was talking about It's a Wonderful Life with the music being different...
Did make an exception to watch It's A Wonderful Life last night, mom and I realized we forgot to around Christmas time. Warning, do not watch on Plex, they replaced the soundtrack. Had to pop in the DVD for the correct audio. This is why using Streaming to save time to watch something, isn't always the best option. Sometimes it's worth the effort to pop in that DVD.
Mom and I missed watching it on Christmas Eve, so we did this classic a few days ago just to watch it. I decided to save time looking for the DVD, just put on a streaming version of it, which had an altered musical score (amongst other errors, such as the title saying "A Wonderful Life" dropping the "It's" part, and saying it's based off a Charles Dickens story). First few minutes felt like a bootleg movie, yet, everything else was the same. Actors, scenes, etc. Just the music was changed. So I decided to just put our DVD copy of It's A Wonderful Life on, which has the original soundtrack.
It wasn't Trolls that had a music change, it was It's A Wonderful Life. Such a weird version Plex had. Like changing a music can make a classic movie feel surreal. Hope this clears it up.
Fair enough. I'll only hear it if the movie is played or something.
@Tyranexx Both GOG and Steam, I tend to shop more when games are on sale. Some of the deals are just good! I also take advantages of freebies on both. One of my favorite freebies, in 2020, GOG had a Dungeons and Dragons sale, and gave away the Eye of the Beholder trilogy for free. Thankful for it too, was the first time I dabbled in D&D. Yeah, IIRC, the original DDLC is a free game, and the paid version is a special version of the game. I played DDLC when it was new.
That's like me, I usually like going to the stores when they are quiet. I haven't been to a Walmart in quite some time. Like over a year. I mostly like going to Target more, plus they tend to have cool character stuff other places don't have. I got collectable Trolls tins there, and they were the only store that sold them. Plus I like their game section. Not just games, but also gaming merch. Found my Amy Rose and Peach plushies this way.
@SlashFuture what I do is google a meme or image and then right click it and download it then on postimg I click choose images and select the image I want from my downloads.
@SlashFuture Awesome, animated movies are my favorite to watch. Not many, Trolls World Tour seems to be part of special events local theaters do. The theaters I went to had it as part of its summer series, and I went to both. Both times were great, and the second showing had a lot of people there, so I guess many still wanted to see this one on the big screen.
The second theater that showed Trolls World Tour, also showed Scoob, another movie that had the same fate as Trolls, being released to home. Part of the same summer event. They showed one movie twice a week for the summer.
Both times were fun. Wore my favorite Poppy shirt and had a Poppy plushie with me, and treated it like an event.
