Anyway Starry Night or The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai?

Very tough decision, both are very iconic and historically significant paintings. I've been obssessed with Japanese culture as of late so I'm going to go with Kanagawa for now but rest assured: both of these could change with the drop of a hat.

Was there glass in front of the painting? I've seen the video and I can't tell if there is or not.

What they are doing is not going to stop oil, throwing soup at a (idk how old it is) painting is not going to change anything except make you look like an idiot.

Having a crested gecko is fun and really cool, but once a week I have random panic attacks about it not getting enough food or something like that. The gecko is fine, but I can’t stop worrying about it. ( as you can probably tell, I am having one of those panic attacks right now)

Too hard to get him to stay still.

Being serious, he eats enough food( they don’t eat much fully grown and he’s only about 4 months old). I just worry to much about things.

Hey, at least it’s not a red eared slider. They can live for around fifty years in captivity.
Moral of the story is that reptiles can live for a surprisingly long time.

@Sunsy Sounds like a good day that you've had, I'm thinking of getting some eShop credit as well. I still wanna get some Game Boy games from the eShop. I saw a video from Good Vibes Gaming about Donkey Kong Land, and that was the perfect reminder for me to get the DKL games downloaded on my 3DS. That's a cool cap you've got there. Also just curious, what kind of chocolate do you like having? Is it a candy bar, or something like that?

Yeah that's what I remember as well. I remember that the Smash Ultimate direct mentioned that, where its online would be distance based. I'd imagine that most of the other games work like that, too.

Ohhh, I see, thanks for showing me. I had no clue that was a thing, though I hardly ever do voice chat. The only time I've really done that was when I was talking to a friend of mine in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, when we were playing online. Speaking of which, it's been some time since I played New Horizons... I should get more time into Happy Home Paradise. I can't wait to see how many weeds have grown on my island. lol

I love Super Mario 3D World as well. We could hit each other up on Discord when we wanna play. Wonder if we're gonna go for all the green stars and stamps!

I used to have Sonic OVA on VHS as well, though I no longer have it, unfortunately. I don't know where it ended up. Most of the Sonic stuff I have consists of games, though I have a Sonic amiibo and everything from the Sonic Mania collector's edition. I also have a history of Sonic book from around 2013.

@Tyranexx Oh that's a really neat touch. There's that Mario edition GBC, though I didn't know about it until much, much later. Kinda wish I had it! I've been kind of in a Game Boy mood lately, since I've been playing stuff like Wario Land 2 and 3, and I wanna get the Donkey Kong Land games from the eShop. Granted, I've been playing them on my 3DS, but I say it still counts, lol. Yeah, way more people had the original Wii Sports, and I've had fond memories with it. I'd say my favorite ones were tennis, bowling, and golf - I've been thinking of playing that one for nostalgia's sake as well.

@Fizza Glad to hear the painting's OK at least, but yeah, I agree with you... if it was my piece getting messed with, I would not be happy. I've always liked art as well, and I've even been to an art museum for a painting class one time.

On the topic of soup and sunflowers, just to point out the obvious their plan was not to throw soup and thus the world stops using fossil fuels. After 40ish years of people asking nicely, educating and negotiating that it is gonna kill us all and it’s actually cheaper to use renewable energy with only people to still be indifferent to global warming and certain governments even in the West like UK and US are going backwards on policies a different tack was used. Just to irritate people constantly like when a child throws a tantrum and to also create a message to a certain audience (as they have given up on a wider message) in this panto with the painting as a prop to show that look at how angry people are at the non-damaging protest has done whilst the same anger isn’t displayed at people knowingly killing us and pricing us out of life to bring in more neutrals to the debate after seeing the reaction on the social inter media webs.

Personally I think they should of gone bigger and more targeted like throwing toilet paper over BP CEO’s house!

Starry Night but as cliche as it is you need to see it in person and seeing the brush strokes does add to the experience rather than clean pixels on screen.

I actually prefer his other Starry Night the one over the Paris river displayed at the Tate (or I saw it at the Tate at the time) as that is the one it went from understanding the mechanics to feeling what he did for me.

@Rambler yeah it’s a panto for the people who already agree, at best it encourages the people who agree to become more engaged with such things. Not to say people who disagree aren’t able to be persuaded, I remember watching a South Park episode (a show which has always leaned right) was mocking Al Gore/global warming only for years and years later they did an apology episode which is very unlike them. But thank the Jebus Cross that all these billionaires have started to urgently try to get into space now and just like trickle down economics they will share getting off the dead planet with us poor people…

I’m the same with art, my other half is an art lover so I’m dragged to galleries alot, she is one of those people who will be staring at a piece for so long that 3 or more groups will have come, looked at it and then moved on before she is done. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy seeing art but don’t get it as nearly much as they do. When we were at the Louvre I was more preoccupied with counting down in my head til we get to Disneyland Paris so I can meet The Hulk whilst she was being wowed by the pretty pictures.

@Rambler one of Liz Truss plans is to eliminate smoking in Britain before 2030. I don’t see it happening as the plan is to raise the age limit and ban smoking outdoors. The smoking outdoors bit will having people kicking off and it will be another u-turn.

@Rambler yeah installations are fun. I went to the Tate Modern a few months ago to see Kusama‘s display. I know her story of being in a mental institution is cliche and The Infinity Room is on the nose but fudge it is beautiful being in that room.

Huh. My Switch itself just crashed there while I was transferring videos over to my phone. I regrettably didn't think to take a picture of it for future reference but it said something about 'an error has occured. ....something something....if blank happens, hold the power button for 12 seconds'. Anyone know what kind of error code that is? I haven't even had my current Switch for that long (only coming up on a year in 2 months time) so I'm quite perplexed about it. I was able to send the video on after restarting it (and checked all my saves and cloud saves for good measure) so I'm not really worried about it yet but may as well be on the safe side.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I did have this kind of error happen exactly one other time. It was when I was playing Pokemon Café Remix and the same error message popped up there as well. That happened back in March though so I still don't think I really need to worry about it.

It just happened again. What's going on?!

EDIT: Checked the error history, looks like it's Error 2168-0002. Should I be concerned?

I hate being sick. I woke up, thought everything was fine and I was over it, and now I have body aches and am coughing every two seconds. On the bright side I get to play a lot of BoTW today.

@Fizza Have you looked up that error code on Nintendo's support site? The steps I've seen include restarting your Switch, and making sure that it has the latest system update. Maybe try those steps and see if that fixes it. However, it does say that the console will need to be repaired if that issue persists. Hopefully it won't come to that... best of luck!

@blindsquarel Dang, that sucks. You get well soon!
