I got a cartridge of the original The Legend of Zelda a few days ago. To get some extra mileage out of the My Arcade Retro Champ I got on my birthday back in May.

It’s already working, even though I brought my Zelda Game & Watch on this trip with me, I just love the game so much I’m already four dungeons in with the blue ring and the level 3 sword.

I wish there was a way to save the that didn’t involve killing Link on purpose though (this device doesn’t have a way to do the saving trick). I don’t like adding to the death counter.

(That reminds me… using the save trick on Zelda 2 on the G&W adds to the death counter! I hated that!)

The strange part is that I only go to the building one period, every other day. But that is the only place I can think of that I may have got something.

Yeah, this is what happens every time I get a cold. It won’t be as bad as when I last got one, because I had a rodeo that day. Let me tell you trying to tie a calf is not fun when you can barely stand up.

I guess it was ahead of its time in that odd very specific aspect.

Had a really good day today. My friend and I did some chatting and shopping, so I ended up getting an eShop card for some Apex coins (like the game, most of it will be saved for a holiday skin), and treated myself to an Alice's Wonderland Bakery figure set with a gift card I had. Yes, it's a kid show, but I love this show, and I like figure sets of characters I like that I can display nicely in my room.

Also, I loved that this was the cap to my drink. Getting this made me happy.

@MarioLover92 Try being me, I'll be up all night thanks to caffeine. Usually only have such in the morning hours, it kind of sucks as I can't have chocolate after a certain time of day either. On the brighter side, I can have a small piece of chocolate in the morning, lol.

Yeah, IIRC, Smash online is mostly distance based. I remember playing Brawl online with my IRL friend, because he was 5 minutes away, never had a problem. With public players, it was lag central.

Yup, Mario Kart 8 has voice chat on the Wii U. You create a friend's game, and you can chat with your friends between races by pressing the - button. Note the microphone in the corner of the screen.

Wii U's Mario Kart 8 has a feature built into the game for free, and doesn't require an app. All you use is the gamepad's microphone.

That would be fun, I love Super Mario 3D World.

Yeah, still a nice gesture as some do upload episodes to YouTube. Disney did it with some Disney Junior and Disney Channel shows, albeit they're only up for short time. I have that OVA on VHS tape, honestly, it's the only VHS tape I still have, I consider it part of my Sonic collection.

This is probably the last I'll post in the forums for a few days. This coming weekend is by far the busiest this month, which is saying something. I doubt I'll have much time to internet.

@Zuljaras I really like that pumpkin diorama! It sort of reminds me of a light up Halloween diorama my grandmother used to own before she downsized. That was pumpkin themed too.

@Sunsy I actually really like the appearance of snow, and I do like messing around in it now and again despite entering my third decade lol. My tolerance of it starts waning after about five or six inches though. Not a fan of shoveling, and it usually doesn't snow enough to justify the cost of a snow blower.

@MarioLover92 Yep, that's the one! Pikachu's cheek would light up when the unit was powered on. I received it for my tenth birthday along with Pokemon Gold and Tweety's High-Flying Adventure (decent platformer). I received a Scooby Doo game loosely based on the Jekyll/Hyde episode too around that time, but I'm not sure exactly when. I've heard of that other version; I was pretty sure there was more than one. We unfortunately never had Wii Sports Resort, just the original since it shipped with most Wii units then.

Also I have been playing some ocarina of time on switch online for the first time! I wasn’t sure because everyone said it was janky and didn’t age well but I love it!

While I do like the OLED screen more, I can only really tell the difference when I compare it directly to the normal switch. But the bigger screen is great at least. Honestly I think games on the tv are the way to go.

Almost had a heart attack there while checking Twitter: apparently 2 idiots from an activist group stormed into National Gallery in Britain, started spurting out speeches and then proceeded to not only glue themselves to the wall but also right beforehand threw tomato soup.....at SUNFLOWERS. You know: BY VINCENT VAN GOGH?!

It's fair to say I was very relieved when it came out there was no actual damage to the painting (thank god for reinforced glass) but still: I don't give care about what the organisation their from is about, YOU DON'T TRY TO DEFACE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ART PIECES OF THE LAST CENTURY.

Just to be pedantic, there is a few Van Gogh Sunflowers as he did two lots of series of them. I always preferred Cafe Terrace and Starry Night myself.

To be honest I’ve seen more respect from the protesters who know there would be no damage to the picture and choose to attack it as they see it’s iconic value rather than some of the people who see it and then start rubbing the glass. I’m always in two minds if I should call them out or not when people do things like that.

Personally I would have like them to attack Damien Hirst instead, not his work just his face.

@Fizza I had a heart attack reading this, I thought something did get damaged, such art, needs to be preserved, and if that preservation was ruined by two idiots, man, I would not be happy lol.
