@Rambler
That's the perk of being an adult though: familial obligation is optional, especially if you don't care all that much about your family to begin with, like me. lol

Disney+ has all kinds of weird educational shows I don't even bother to watch. I only subscribe for their MCU stuff nowadays. They don't even have the underrated Fillmore!, giving me more reasons not to bother with their service:
That show's intro was badass. The premise was unique too: gritty '70s cop drama, but in an elementary school setting.

Let's not forget the bloated amount of games coming out this year too. It's as if corporations just want us to stay at home all day and play video games while streaming shows. You know, not having a life? lol

@Maxenmus Well in all fairness there’s three main game company’s and then loads of Indie games. So yeah it makes sense that there is a lot. I get it, Nintendo has come out with many games this year, but there all developed by different teams, and is luckily not sacrificing quality.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Maxenmus Ah, gotcha. Yeah, with stuff like Netflix and Disney+, all these movies and shows are super easy to access now. Plus, we don't have to tune into a channel at a specific time - we're quite spoiled nowadays, lol!

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️

Another good thing that separates streaming services from ordinary cable TV is the lack of contractual obligations, AKA "cancellation fees." You could literally subscribe to Netflix for one month and immediately cancel it so that it doesn't renew.
However, this might not stay permanent for long, with how companies work. A number of people have voiced their concern that streaming companies might consider adding cancellation penalties in the future because it's how companies made more money and ensured they don't lose customers/viewers through cable packages (regardless of the more sensible notion that enforcing such policies will in turn make them lose subscribers).
I honestly hope that those people and myself are just being paranoid, because dang, I'm not gonna subscribe to Disney+ if they're gonna handcuff me to a cancellation fee.

My dad and I didn't really get along either (in fact, my relationship with him was far worse than with my mum), so as cold-hearted as it might be for me to say this, I don't have a lot of tears to shed for the old man. I appreciate your condolences, but honestly, his death made my life a lot more peaceful. He had the worst temper (most of which was passed on to me) and was barely a father figure to me. We would just get in each other's faces all the time and have shouting contests. It was a nightmare living with him.
Sorry to hear about your brother's addiction. Addiction is... really tough to kick. I don't do drugs, but I have other vices of my own that are psychologically harmful, if not biologically. It's tough, but it's not an excuse to manipulate your family and be awful to them though. Best of luck to your brother.
Your mother reminds a bit of mine, but her abusive behavior has lessened over years of therapy and medication. She's a lot more tranquil now, literally became a different person. I still don't get along well with her because of communication barriers between us. It's hard to just wash away years of bad memories with your parents, especially when it involves them verbally abusing you and caning you with a rattan cane (Asian parents love corporal punishment). I just can't see myself ever becoming close family members with my mum. For what it's worth though, we're mostly cordial with each other... on the good days. Sometimes her insensitivity did still upset me, but for the most part, I guess we're doing better than ten years ago.
I love my alone time as well. I guess if I'm closer to my family, I might not have turned out this way, but there's just something soothing about the freedom of alone time, just having your entire life be in your hands and doing whatever you feel like, not worrying what others will think of your interests or hobbies. Someday, I just want to go to some remote hotel/resort and have a staycation by myself. Just being away from home and have my own personal space far away from the presence of people. Except online people like yourself whose face I'll never see, of course.
@Kermit1 Yeah, I was already an adult in that year. Still nice to unearth some old eShop cards I had. Kind of cool seeing how they looked during the early 3DS and Wii U days. The Wii shop card was just a bonus find.
For some reason, I just liked saving the cards after using them.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, I got a couple of them. I still have a Wii Points card with a GameStop label on it. That one was definitely Sonic 4 episode 1, I remember going to GameStop the day before release to get the card.
Yeah, I never cared for designer stuff. Some of my classmates wore those or band shirts. Me, I wanted to just wear my favorite characters, even as a teen. When I was a teen, I was short, so a boys XL fit me fine. I had a bunch of Pokemon shirts, and the few Jimmy Neutron shirts in boys XL (the majority of these were little kid sizes 4-7 unfortunately). I like it now, because I can just go online and get character shirts easily, rather than take a trip to a store and come out empty handed. I have Sonic shirts, Super Mario Princess Peach shirts, Disney shirts, and a lot of Trolls shirts (most of them have Poppy on it, actually going to wear one to the movie on Monday). Cool part is, they're all mens sizes, which stores usually don't have for some characters. Those shirts sound awesome BTW!
Ouch, surprisingly I wasn't ridiculed for Nintendo. My friend from school loved the Zelda games and we played Four Swords. I do wish I had someone to talk about the latest episode of Jimmy Neutron with, or like something without being ridiculed for liking something "childish" like cartoons back then. Which is why I just feel the past few years has been the best for being a fan of stuff I like, both gaming and cartoons. Nowadays, I can talk to my friend about Trolls, it's been over a decade since I've been made fun of for liking what I like. It feels great to be a fan nowadays.
Don't know, but it's still fun knowing seeing Trolls World Tour last month on the big screen, there was lots of small details I didn't pick up on watching on DVD or the initial home release in April 2020.
@Anti-Matter Yeah, the ones I found are the older ones from the Wii, and early Wii U/3DS days. Current ones have Nintendo characters on them (Luigi on $10, Mario on $20, Peach on $35, etc).
I haven't played the new Kirby game yet, so I don't know what it's like. Being inspired by a game that is a live service, doesn't always mean it's going to be a live service, they may just get the ideas from that game's concept or gameplay. For example, Asphalt 9 is a live service racing game. Crus'n Blast is also a racing game. They're both similar, but Crus'n doesn't have any live service features, you have to play the game to unlock stuff.
I have no problem with a live service game if it's an online only game, since that means there's always new stuff being added to game. If it's a single player game, I don't see it happening unless it's like add-on DLC or something like that. Personally, I think traditional games that aren't live services will always be around, there's people who still like playing them, myself included.

@tekoii
Do you play other Switch games with online feature?
I don't really play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that much as I have pretty low hype with racing games.
I still want to revisit my island on Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I'm ready to play online in ARMS.
Good news, DDR A3 got a lot of new songs and I like some of the new songs on DDR A3.
This is my favorite so far.
I play lots of Nintendo games, and Playstation games too. Mostly platformers, and rpg's. Also love playing multiplayer games with my friends!

@tekoii Yeah, wave 2 has been a lot of fun so far, played on my own and with a friend. I will try to join Saturday, and it's a good day too, I have to be in bed early on Sunday. Going to see Trolls World Tour again on Monday, and the local theater is showing it at 9AM, so I need to be up early. So, it works out.
I know I can watch the movie at home, but still like the big screen experience. After all, this is one of the movies that did skip theaters, so friend and I decided to see both local showings this summer. Two local theaters are doing it as a summer event.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
