@Tyranexx
You can try Raving Rabbids 2 / TV Party / Rabbids Go Home.
Well, at first I was also do not like Rabbids for being brainless, noisy and annoying but after some watching of their gameplay from their Wii games, their games are actually quite interesting regardless of their looking. I really misjudged them by their looking until I saw their gameplay.Rabbids games are not really bad as you think.

My recommendation try Rabbids Go Home first. It's a crazy shoplifting game where you play as 2 Rabbids with shopping trolley as their transportation and 1 Rabbid as on screen live ammo (you can throw it like Starbit Mario Galaxy to clear the inflated rubber / open the metal platform / punish someone). The objective of the game is stack a pile of random items and garbage to make a tower of garbage to go to the Moon (sounds very naive and stupid to think Rabbids can go to the Moon by making a giant tower like Babil tower) so during gameplay, you will collect random items such as animals, foods, furnitures, clothes by make the Rabbid scream in front of peoples to strip the people's clothes (the peoples will get naked with their underwear and bra, don't worry about nudity here as the peoples are very skinny), etc. You can customize the Rabbids looking by pointing the Wiimote on the screen and you can torture the Rabbid inside the Wiimote by shake the Wiiimote crazily. Such a pleasure to torture the Rabbids for having ugly looking and annoying personality. 🤭

@Anti-Matter I'll consider it. It isn't their looks so much as their actions and "speech" (or lack thereof) that bothers me. Rabbids Go Home sounds like a fun timewaster for a lazy afternoon at any rate. And I might like torturing the Rabbid in the Wii remote a little too much....

@TheJGG I gathered the Ubisoft event was a waste of time, though I'm happy for those who are excited about the new Mario + Rabbids game. I did fit in the Square Enix event today; I had a similar setup to what you described. Likewise there was a bit of lag on my TV, but it wasn't bad. The chat here was actually very refreshing, and not nearly as busy or asinine as some other live feeds I've viewed in the past. There were plenty of "Balan" puns to go around! I think my suggestion of Balan: Other M wasn't bad, but I think Balanetta took the cake in the chat lol. Or at least with Thomas! The event itself wasn't bad, but there wasn't much there for Switch owners. Guardians of the Galaxy looks very good even though it clearly isn't a Switch title; I'd certainly play it! They spent a ton of the 45 minute presentation on that and other Marvel content however. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection was, I thought, a no-brainer for multiple platforms, but it's only coming to Steam and Mobile as of this writing. A few flashes of a few other games before the presentation ended. Overall I'd rate it a somewhat okay meh, even with a couple of high points in there. Just not a lot for my tastes really.

Still gradually working my way through your new content in order that it's currently listed in the folder. Lasaria Woodlands has me itching to try Xenoblade Chronicles 2 again, same with Octopath Traveler with this Frostlands piece right now. I'm sure it's fine if you plug your content in your signature - that's what it's there for!

Ironically before moving onto your monster post, I read through the small Xenoblade written demonstration first. It definitely evokes images of the game's opening cutscene, almost blow by blow! I'd be interested to see how it progresses should you continue. I'd also stick closely with the English script for a faithful literary retelling, though you should certainly add in your own flair in the details and side conversations.

Overall, I'm not a huge fan of mobile games, though that's not to say they're all bad. There are few decent ones, though in my opinion they're few and far between. My main problem with a lot of them are that they're low-quality, ad-ridden apps, or else they're pay-to-win. The only reason I still play Pokemon Go on occasion is how lenient it is when it comes to free content you don't need to pay for. I've never dumped money into the game and don't intend to. There are some mobile ports of games that were originally on consoles that I might go for, however. Including some of the DQ entries that, as of this writing, are expensive in some of their physical forms right now. Looks at Dragon Quest VI

I can still watch the entirety of a long film if I'm not busy, though I watch less films in general these days. Hence why my "Movies Tyranexx Needs To Watch" list keeps growing. Both the Harry Potter films and the original LotR Trilogy are very well done. Ways to adapt a series right IMO. I've had high hopes for other fantasy series, such as Chronicles of Narnia back in the day, but they really went off the rails with Voyage of the Dawn Treader. From what I've read, other issues have kept them from producing The Silver Chair. Another series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, was...mishandled early. In that case, they used the book as a base and then kind of ran off with some of the ensuing material in production.

The Famicom Detective Club games do indeed look superb, especially alongside comparisons of how the original games looked. Clearly a lot of effort went into them, but....At the end of the day, it's very hard for me to justify spending that much on a digital-only title. I may change my tune at some point, but it's a risk for a series I have no experience with. If I get one on discount and like it enough, I'd very well consider getting the other at full price in the future. As for Doki Doki Literature Club, I actually like psychological horror elements if they're done right. Definitely worth knowing and not, admittedly, what originally popped into my head at the words "questionable content". My thanks!

I love pancakes and waffles, though I keep those to a rare treat. Ironically I have a waffle iron, but I don't use it much since it can be a pain to clean! XD Peanut butter mixed with something sweet is a heck of a treat! It definitely gets along well with maple syrup, and I like mixing it with honey too. I generally stick to quick breakfasts, usually toast or oatmeal with some fruit thrown in for good measure. I also usually eat a boiled egg, though I do a whole batch in advance to save time.

Thanks for holding out on the FF7 Remake spoilers, even if it'll admittedly be awhile before I get to the game. I'd love for the game to hit other hardware, but it's certainly understandable why it isn't on the Switch; as much as I love the machine, it doesn't have enough horsepower to handle a game like that yet. That was my problem with Xenoblade Chronicles: DE: I was too stubborn to knock it down to Casual Mode! I nearly caved to that mode a couple of times but persevered! Overall I'm happy that I held out and was able to grind my team up to snuff, but that did make the final boss sequence laughably easy. Still a blast though!

I don't follow F1, but it certainly seems that Lewis Hamilton is an awesome guy both on and off the track. I agree, that's the true mentality of a champion. No fighting dirty, bad sportsmanship, and seems to know his profession inside and out.

I would LOVE the NL staff to do an entertaining dub of Trials of Mana! Or even a bad lip reading. XD

(Edit: VERY busy week coming up by the way, so it might be a bit before I can monster post again.)

O Teksetter, friendly @Teksetter, where is your steady voice to help me navigate all the choppiness and the jostling of E3 season? 😏

I’d say some kind of updated console name is inevitable, not just a SKU change like the redbox Switch. 5 years in, there’ll be more ambitious upgrades this time, right? I’d rather Switch Plus than NEW Switch - just too generic! “Switch 2” seems too souless for Nintendo.

I have been pondering your words, and I will readily admit that you could be quite correct - likely you are, in fact. For my part, I don't understand Nintendo's logic, but there's nothing new in that. I had thought that Nintendo was very leery of creating confusion in the marketplace with another Wii U-style scenario - "I already have a Wii, why should I upgrade?" - but they may be less concerned about that risk than I thought. Especially if - and here I am speculating, obviously - the "base" Switch model will continue to be featured at retail for years and years to come, like the original Game Boy. (Say, a minimum of five more years.)

If Nintendo commits to a stable platform with incremental upgrades, like the *DS line, they could have some interesting options. To wit: imagine a future enhanced model sold with an enhanced dock, which runs the same game cards as the current Switch. When the time comes for 128 or 256 GB games/cards, they may or may not be interoperable with the two current Switch models, but using the same format would be advantageous for Nintendo. In such a scenario, maybe a third, refreshed model might be comprehensible even to the less savvy customer.

I must, however, point out that your proposed name - Switch Plus - is insufficient. Clearly the new model must be called the Nintendo Swith Max Pass Plus.

I LOVE what you are saying about pinball (my condolences about that bar closing) and Subnautica. I think I will elaborate after E3, though...

Looking at some interesting upcoming games for either Switch or PS4 / PS5 from Direct or presentation recently, it made me want to continue my upcoming games library growth.
In July 2021, i will focus on PS4 / Switch new games and games i haven't bought yet while keep my PS3 / PS2 / Wii games library growing.

Btw, who have ever played Skylanders on consoles ?

I’m happy to report that my copy of NieR: Automata came in the mail this morning! I expected it to arrive around the 29-30 ballpark but I was very surprised to see it arrive just three days after it was delivered to the re-mailing service in the UK. I chose to get it physically delivered because not only could I not find the game at any shop here, but it was also exceptionally cheap. The Witcher 3 should also arrive in four to five days, so I’ll need to figure out storage and whatnot since I’ve had to delete many games since. I since played through an hour and a half of it and it loves to switch genres very fast. One minute it’s a shoot-em-up, next it’s a hack’n slash, the next it’s a platformer… usually it hurts the game but I’ve heard it helps in this case. 2B is awesome, so is 9S. More to come!

@Tyranexx I have no idea how to feel about Mario + Rabbids because I don’t even know if I liked Kingdom Battle or not. It’s a fairly challenging strategy game and it’s relatively faithful to the series… maybe I’ll give it a go when my backlog’s empty. It isn’t now, I’m getting ready for the next summer of gaming.

Funny story about the Square one, I fully intended to join you all in the chat but around 9pm (about an hour before the show started) I fell asleep on my couch, while the Xbox show was still going on. Apparently I was sleeping quite peacefully, and when I woke up the next morning I was described as angelic. But nonetheless I woke up at 11:30, and the show had ended. I went to the VOD on YouTube via my Switch, meaning there was little in the way of spoilers, and then flicked through it…

I feel like it was… a bit underwhelming. If I find myself busy this time next year I may as well rely on you to compile your thoughts though, because your impressions are nearly word for word identical to mine. Guardians of the Galaxy’s quite impressive, seems Square are bankrolling their stranglehold of the Marvel video game rights. This was the equivalent of Ubisoft showing off Rainbow Six Seige, but less offensive solely by virtue of GotG being a completely new game. I felt similarly about Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection, a seemingly easy port job and subsequent money has been highly questionably put aside. Makes me wonder if this’ll be shown in tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct. More food for thought.

But does it need to be explained? The absolute…. meme that was the Stranger in Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins trailer. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a trailer that’s made me laugh as hard as this has. Not even in a good way; the game looks absolutely atrocious from what I’ve seen. The main characters looks like they walked in and robbed their local Target, snorted two pounds of coke, and then lived out their drug-induced hallucinations in a dark alleyway, declaring a good eight times that they were gonna kill Chaos. “I’m excited to play as three protagonists I’ve already seen before; Lightning Prompto, Recoloured Gladio, and Edgelord Cor.” (quote by me) Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better I read the YouTube comments and I began laughing all over again. I can’t even think about this game without a persistent, almost delirious chuckle. And it’s just the cherry on top that the demo was broken. You could say it was a chaotic launch.

Glad you like the songs I added. Those were all made before the newer ones, so the difference in… general quality is noticeable. But the unintentional design is that as you go down it’ll get better. I’m also glad you didn’t hate the Xenoblade written demonstration. I added a bit more this morning, and I found a document online with all the spoken dialogue out there. I’ll just need to weave it together, make new dialogue and make it believable. I wrote down some good names for the seventeen in-game chapters a few months ago so I can certainly use those.

When I was younger I played too much Clash of Clans for my liking. At the time I was begging my parents for Gems, which obviously cost real money, and they thankfully never let up. Now I’m able to think for myself a bit more I completely reject and actively lambast the principles upon which mobile games are based on, though there’s some good ones out there. Stardew Valley was ported to mobile and if my fantastic console experience is anything to go by that’s one of the best mobile games of all time. Have you played Stardew?

Maybe it’s not out of the question to reserve one slot a week for a movie from your movie list? That way it at least guarantees you’ll be able to make progress at all… I’ve tried it and it works quite nicely; I finished watching the BBC television adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “The ABC Murders”, which was a deeply riveting case in of itself. I began the first part of “And Then There Were None”, considered to be Christie’s best work of all. I agree that Percy Jackson & The Olympians was badly executed, they were always locked in for mixed results because of the structure of the books. It didn’t help that they chose to age up the protagonists, so Percy and Annabeth are both sixteen instead of twelve. You lost the feeling of growing up with the characters, a feeling that Harry Potter encapsulates better than any other film series in history.

I share your feelings about Famicom Detective Club; getting it on discount is probably the only way I’d get it at the moment. Most of Nintendo’s first party games are like that, I want to get them but the pricing betrays the game’s age, not necessarily their quality. Such games include Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, to some extent Hades, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and The World Ends With You: Final Remix. And it’s only two and a bit weeks to go until Doki Doki comes out so you’ll have plenty of time to get psyched for that one. You’re very welcome, even though I should have been more clear with my mentioning of questionable content. I doubt that even needed a spoiler tag because the publisher states this under legal obligation!

Today the unthinkable happened, we ran out of peanut butter. I certainly hope I can mosey over to the shop before it closes, because apart from that, salted butter and strawberry jam is all I trust to grace the serrated surfaces of a crispy piece of toast. It’s quite smooth on toast so it makes for a really nice combination when eating. I save pancakes and waffles for the weekend, and it’s usually a nice thing to look forward to. When I was stuck in England last year I did some video calls while preparing pancakes. Considering it was at 6:20am due to the time zone difference everyone appreciated it!

You have time, don’t you worry. I wouldn’t count on Final Fantasy VII Remake coming to Switch, like, ever, so next-gen hardware will do the trick. Thanks to the free upgrade from PS4 to PS5 versions of the game by virtue of having a disc PS5 and a physical copy of the game, I got Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS5) for free. I’d still need to buy the Yuffie story content if I wanted it, but having a native PS5 game is refreshing. 60fps, 4K, better lighting, a photo mode… it’s pretty good fun! The moment you join in will be very joyous!

No pressure whatsoever; we’re here for fun and games after all! And speaking of games, the Nintendo Direct’s coming! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on that and Capcom! In the meantime I’ll be getting my vaccine so I’ll prepare my couch, it’ll be very well used come Tuesday night…
