@ThanosReXXX
Ah, sorry for my complaint about Virtua Tennis 4. I was inexperienced with SEGA tennis games but i'm good enough for playing Hot Shot Tennis on PS2. 😅
Btw, have you watched the Wholesome Indie Direct and Mario+ Rabbids Spark of Hope trailer ?
The Wholesome Indie Direct was great, almost every indie games shown caught my attention. 😃
Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope trailer was great too. The Rabbids got proper voice depend on their gender, no more BWAAAH... !! voices like old Rabbids games.
So... No Imagine / Petz games from Ubisoft presentation just now ? 😕
Any new casual games shown ? (Don't care with Just Dance)
Well if you don’t care for Just Dance there’s absolutely nothing. You were on the live chat so you were there for at least half the show. Rainbow Six Siege, the epic stunt game, Avatar, Mario&Rabbids… that’s pretty much it really.
@TheJGG
I see.
I was sleeping when the time for Ubisoft presentation due to being aired at 2 am Jakarta time.
At least i have watched Wholesome Indie Direct at 12 am Jakarta time and almost every indie games shown got my attention.
It actually appeared as though both ThanosReXXX and TheJGG were streaming the Ubisoft event via YouTube. I noticed you both using the app when I booted up my own Switch for a little TWEWY.
I noticed you using TWEWY while we both were booting up our own Switches for a little waste of time!! My setup was pretty nice; but it wasn’t as simple as just watching it on my television. I had the live comments open on my laptop, which I used to make witty and sarcastic remarks in real time to poor souls like @WoomyNNYes, and I had it open on television. There was about maybe half a second lag between the TV and the laptop broadcast but nothing untoward.
Live comments here… and I say NOW… because it could change with toxic users…. It’s really great! The Square Enix one is today of course so maybe stop by and say hello! Or don’t, we will no doubt hear your thoughts in due course.
@ThanosReXXX
oh i most definitely did not purchase that freddy krueger figure

Well, maybe when it's on sale, @Tyranexx ....? I'd recommend Kingdom Battle, too but I never played the other Rabbids stuff to compare them in those to it I didn't bother watching the whole Ubi Forward but I had it in Youtube on my PC while I did other stuff, mostly for Sparks of Hope
@Tyranexx Well convenience is convenience! My posts are frequent enough that I may end up getting banned for shamelessly plugging my work but hey, I make absolutely no money from this at all. I wrapped up Dearly Beloved this morning, and now I’m well and truly happy with it, enough to put it in the folder. I share your sentiments with Thanos but I’d be a poor human being if I didn’t respect his wish! It rises steadily though, but I’m less concerned about the length and more the quality of the things I post. Onto the good stuff.
Once E3 is over there’ll be a small hibernation period where I won’t have any new games, during which I could have a window to write a possible Xenoblade Chronicles treatment. One thing I know I’d do if I was going to write this, is to use the game’s English script word for word, and build on it. Unless context and common logic dictate otherwise I’d want to keep dialogue unchanged that isn’t my own. Could be a good way to keep my English going… I was hit by a stroke of inspiration actually and managed to write a small demonstration. It covers the first… minute of the first cutscene of the game. I’ll put that in another post.
The eShop has too much software indeed, but I would have never played such indie hits like Stardew or Celeste if I didn’t have a Switch. Thing is, I detest mobile games so the modern video game console business model of paying sixty dollars for your game up front and (most times) receiving a complete package. Every now and then there’ll be an indie game that’s so good it can pass for a major game in terms of quality. I own many of those that are available on Switch.
The Hobbit’s awkward transition to the screen is partly why watching the Middle-Earth saga is hard. The Harry Potter series has been fantastic throughout, and that’s the core strength. The Lord of the Rings is amazing though, especially Return of the King. Almost every single scene is memorable, so much dialogue is quotable, and the action scenes were years ahead of their time. I admit I haven’t watched any of them start to finish, I have a life and my patience with films isn’t four hours long. Nonetheless the production of the original trilogy can be hailed as a marvel… a massive accomplishment in filmmaking.
I honestly can’t think of any visual novels I’ve played, probably because I likely haven’t played any. I think we both would like to invest in the Famicom Detective Club games on discount! They look superb from a graphics standpoint, and the effort put into the artwork, voice work and the general feel of the game is quite impressive. And naturally I’ve never played Doki Doki Literature Club, but I am very interested in getting it. This is a bit of a spoiler but is necessary to knowing whether you want to play the game; it’s a psychological horror as well. So if you’re sensitive to those kinds of elements it’s important for that to be known. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the genre but the game’s nature means it was always a buy!
Last time I ate out… God that must have been a month ago. That doesn’t mean I’m not able to enjoy a quality breakfast however, because yesterday morning I had some pretty great homemade waffles. I have a tendency with pancakes and waffles, to spread peanut butter (smooth of course), and then drizzle maple syrup. It makes for two different kinds of sweetness, one’s thicker and the other’s lighter. They taste well enough that they complement each other. Otherwise I just stick to toast… and as for the dentist, I haven’t been in three years. The dental in the African subcontinent is as good as you’d expect; not too bad but not too good.
Time doesn’t flow for me anymore. As of writing this sentence (2:40pm) there is just over seven and a half hours until the Square Enix presentation. I feel like a racecar tyre, I’m meant to last a specific amount of time but during E3 I need o stretch my operating window before I fall off a cliff. All said and done it worked yesterday… even if the show was an unequivocal waste of time. Most of the live-chat users would agree, we were making some pretty funny jokes.
Duly noted, I’ll hold out on open Final Fantasy VII Remake spoilers until you at least have played the game. I know some people here’ll be less than enthused the game will be exclusive to the PS4/5 hardware for the foreseeable future, but that’s how it is. As for Xenoblade late-game shenanigans, it was so much easier in Definitive Edition thanks to the Casual Mode setting. I was able to do late-game quests, like the second Coming of Age ceremony, the War God statue quest, Three Sage Summit, and more, and advance my level quickly, especially in the Lv75-85 bracket, where it was really tedious getting through that. The final boss rush becomes far too easy though, and I remember the deep satisfaction I experienced when I finally beat the final boss, because it took me weeks on end!
Well Lewis Hamilton isn’t just any old driver, he’s statistically (and in my opinion objectively) the greatest F1 driver of all time! His mentality over the last few years has been quite inspirational; do your talking on the track, don’t bother with mind games, work hard, never give up, never get complacent… it’s a true champion’s mentality. My parents are fans of his so it was passed down to me. While that is true I still support him because he’s one of the most complete drivers. He’s not dirty, but he can be very aggressive, he starts well, he has blistering raw speed, he takes care of tyres, and he doesn’t make many mistakes. He’s very old by F1 standards, usually their peak is around 25-30 but he’s winning championships at 36, but he’s lost none of his speed. He’s also into fashion, and that’s… very fascinating indeed.
Indeed, mute Charlotte! Down with that absolutely awful speak! Makes me wonder if NintendoLife could make a fan dub patch or something. Alex, Zion and Jon voicing all the characters. And of course our resident “genius eccentric”, Kate. That would be better than the current Trials of Mana cast. At least they know how to use their voices.
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you're interested in my Xenoblade fanfiction, rejoice... because it doesn't exist. I wrote this instead.
Long ago, the world was nothing more than an endless sea… cloaked in a boundless sky… reaching as far as could possibly be imagined.
You open your eyes, and see nothing but dark, grey fog. Your feet, covered by worn boots, are damp. You are standing in this sea, lapping slowly against your legs, and it is cold to the touch. The fog lifts, fading into nothing. It is then that you see your world, no… our world. The sea sprawls on for miles, no, more than that. Just you, me, and the great sea, nothing more. Then two great titans came into existence..
The ground shakes and two… beings emerge from the ground. One is completely metal, and the other pure white. You cannot tell how big they are because you have no sense of scale. They must have been taller than the trees, taller than a building, but you feel like a speck next to them. Where did they come from; I hear you ask. Why are they here? Who are they? Fear not. These questions will be answered in time, patience is a virtue. … The Bionis and the Mechonis.
And suddenly they behave like your kind do. They swing their weapons; one a beam of light, the other a sword of metal. They clash over and over, each being sensing the other’s intent, like it was some kind of dance routine. The Titans were locked in a timeless battle…
But then the battle began to change. The white being swung it’s brilliant blade, sailing through the air until it connected with the metal one’s shoulder, and with a horrible screech of rending metal the creature’s right arm falls off, crashing into the sea with a torrential wave. The being’s severed hand collapses, and the six digits release their now lifeless grip. The creature, now enraged, swung it’s sword to the side of the white creature, at the same time the beam of light crashed down through its head. Until… only their lifeless corpses remained.
@Sunsy Ah, duly noted. Thanks for the warning! It may be an eventually purchase. More than enough to get along with right now.
@BruceCM I've been tempted by Kingdom Battle mostly due to how discounted it gets during sales. While I like strategy games, Fire Emblem usually scratches that itch lol. Plus, Rabbits are...well, annoying. Their gibbering, along with the Minions, drives me nuts. Though I've heard it's toned down in the crossover.
Yeah, someone was just saying about that elsewhere in the forums, @Tyranexx .... I never played the other Rabbids games, so hopefully you'll see some posts by those who hadn't liked them before
@Tyranexx Ive never wanted to play rabbids games or turn based, but I loved Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle. I didn't find the rabbids annoying, like their other kid-targeted stuff. Granted, that's my opinion.
I've seen it go on sale for $14.99, or $19.99. I'm sure it will go on sale again soon.
@BruceCM Oof, I was autocorrected earlier. I clearly typed "Rabbids". Darn phone lol.
@WoomyNNYes Thanks! Glad to know they aren't too annoying at any rate. I'll keep an eye out for other price drops, though I think I'll skip for right now. Plenty of stuff to play lol.
@Tyranexx
You can try Raving Rabbids 2 / TV Party / Rabbids Go Home.
Well, at first I was also do not like Rabbids for being brainless, noisy and annoying but after some watching of their gameplay from their Wii games, their games are actually quite interesting regardless of their looking. I really misjudged them by their looking until I saw their gameplay.Rabbids games are not really bad as you think.
My recommendation try Rabbids Go Home first. It's a crazy shoplifting game where you play as 2 Rabbids with shopping trolley as their transportation and 1 Rabbid as on screen live ammo (you can throw it like Starbit Mario Galaxy to clear the inflated rubber / open the metal platform / punish someone). The objective of the game is stack a pile of random items and garbage to make a tower of garbage to go to the Moon (sounds very naive and stupid to think Rabbids can go to the Moon by making a giant tower like Babil tower) so during gameplay, you will collect random items such as animals, foods, furnitures, clothes by make the Rabbid scream in front of peoples to strip the people's clothes (the peoples will get naked with their underwear and bra, don't worry about nudity here as the peoples are very skinny), etc. You can customize the Rabbids looking by pointing the Wiimote on the screen and you can torture the Rabbid inside the Wiimote by shake the Wiiimote crazily. Such a pleasure to torture the Rabbids for having ugly looking and annoying personality. 🤭
@Anti-Matter I'll consider it. It isn't their looks so much as their actions and "speech" (or lack thereof) that bothers me. Rabbids Go Home sounds like a fun timewaster for a lazy afternoon at any rate. And I might like torturing the Rabbid in the Wii remote a little too much....
(No animals, real or imaginary, were harmed in the making of this post)
@TheJGG I gathered the Ubisoft event was a waste of time, though I'm happy for those who are excited about the new Mario + Rabbids game. I did fit in the Square Enix event today; I had a similar setup to what you described. Likewise there was a bit of lag on my TV, but it wasn't bad. The chat here was actually very refreshing, and not nearly as busy or asinine as some other live feeds I've viewed in the past. There were plenty of "Balan" puns to go around! I think my suggestion of Balan: Other M wasn't bad, but I think Balanetta took the cake in the chat lol. Or at least with Thomas! The event itself wasn't bad, but there wasn't much there for Switch owners. Guardians of the Galaxy looks very good even though it clearly isn't a Switch title; I'd certainly play it! They spent a ton of the 45 minute presentation on that and other Marvel content however. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection was, I thought, a no-brainer for multiple platforms, but it's only coming to Steam and Mobile as of this writing. A few flashes of a few other games before the presentation ended. Overall I'd rate it a somewhat okay meh, even with a couple of high points in there. Just not a lot for my tastes really.
Still gradually working my way through your new content in order that it's currently listed in the folder. Lasaria Woodlands has me itching to try Xenoblade Chronicles 2 again, same with Octopath Traveler with this Frostlands piece right now. I'm sure it's fine if you plug your content in your signature - that's what it's there for!
Ironically before moving onto your monster post, I read through the small Xenoblade written demonstration first. It definitely evokes images of the game's opening cutscene, almost blow by blow! I'd be interested to see how it progresses should you continue. I'd also stick closely with the English script for a faithful literary retelling, though you should certainly add in your own flair in the details and side conversations.
Overall, I'm not a huge fan of mobile games, though that's not to say they're all bad. There are few decent ones, though in my opinion they're few and far between. My main problem with a lot of them are that they're low-quality, ad-ridden apps, or else they're pay-to-win. The only reason I still play Pokemon Go on occasion is how lenient it is when it comes to free content you don't need to pay for. I've never dumped money into the game and don't intend to. There are some mobile ports of games that were originally on consoles that I might go for, however. Including some of the DQ entries that, as of this writing, are expensive in some of their physical forms right now. Looks at Dragon Quest VI
I can still watch the entirety of a long film if I'm not busy, though I watch less films in general these days. Hence why my "Movies Tyranexx Needs To Watch" list keeps growing. Both the Harry Potter films and the original LotR Trilogy are very well done. Ways to adapt a series right IMO. I've had high hopes for other fantasy series, such as Chronicles of Narnia back in the day, but they really went off the rails with Voyage of the Dawn Treader. From what I've read, other issues have kept them from producing The Silver Chair. Another series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, was...mishandled early. In that case, they used the book as a base and then kind of ran off with some of the ensuing material in production.
The Famicom Detective Club games do indeed look superb, especially alongside comparisons of how the original games looked. Clearly a lot of effort went into them, but....At the end of the day, it's very hard for me to justify spending that much on a digital-only title. I may change my tune at some point, but it's a risk for a series I have no experience with. If I get one on discount and like it enough, I'd very well consider getting the other at full price in the future. As for Doki Doki Literature Club, I actually like psychological horror elements if they're done right. Definitely worth knowing and not, admittedly, what originally popped into my head at the words "questionable content". My thanks!
I love pancakes and waffles, though I keep those to a rare treat. Ironically I have a waffle iron, but I don't use it much since it can be a pain to clean! XD Peanut butter mixed with something sweet is a heck of a treat! It definitely gets along well with maple syrup, and I like mixing it with honey too. I generally stick to quick breakfasts, usually toast or oatmeal with some fruit thrown in for good measure. I also usually eat a boiled egg, though I do a whole batch in advance to save time.
Thanks for holding out on the FF7 Remake spoilers, even if it'll admittedly be awhile before I get to the game. I'd love for the game to hit other hardware, but it's certainly understandable why it isn't on the Switch; as much as I love the machine, it doesn't have enough horsepower to handle a game like that yet. That was my problem with Xenoblade Chronicles: DE: I was too stubborn to knock it down to Casual Mode! I nearly caved to that mode a couple of times but persevered! Overall I'm happy that I held out and was able to grind my team up to snuff, but that did make the final boss sequence laughably easy. Still a blast though!
I don't follow F1, but it certainly seems that Lewis Hamilton is an awesome guy both on and off the track. I agree, that's the true mentality of a champion. No fighting dirty, bad sportsmanship, and seems to know his profession inside and out.
I would LOVE the NL staff to do an entertaining dub of Trials of Mana! Or even a bad lip reading. XD
(Edit: VERY busy week coming up by the way, so it might be a bit before I can monster post again.)
O Teksetter, friendly @Teksetter, where is your steady voice to help me navigate all the choppiness and the jostling of E3 season? 😏
I’d say some kind of updated console name is inevitable, not just a SKU change like the redbox Switch. 5 years in, there’ll be more ambitious upgrades this time, right? I’d rather Switch Plus than NEW Switch - just too generic! “Switch 2” seems too souless for Nintendo.
I have been pondering your words, and I will readily admit that you could be quite correct - likely you are, in fact. For my part, I don't understand Nintendo's logic, but there's nothing new in that. I had thought that Nintendo was very leery of creating confusion in the marketplace with another Wii U-style scenario - "I already have a Wii, why should I upgrade?" - but they may be less concerned about that risk than I thought. Especially if - and here I am speculating, obviously - the "base" Switch model will continue to be featured at retail for years and years to come, like the original Game Boy. (Say, a minimum of five more years.)
If Nintendo commits to a stable platform with incremental upgrades, like the *DS line, they could have some interesting options. To wit: imagine a future enhanced model sold with an enhanced dock, which runs the same game cards as the current Switch. When the time comes for 128 or 256 GB games/cards, they may or may not be interoperable with the two current Switch models, but using the same format would be advantageous for Nintendo. In such a scenario, maybe a third, refreshed model might be comprehensible even to the less savvy customer.
I must, however, point out that your proposed name - Switch Plus - is insufficient. Clearly the new model must be called the Nintendo Swith Max Pass Plus.
I LOVE what you are saying about pinball (my condolences about that bar closing) and Subnautica. I think I will elaborate after E3, though...
