@Teksetter Hello, hello! [Bouncing in cage] I got your messages this time!
I read your initial comment in KateGray's thread, BTW, and I must respectfully differ with you - I don't remember anything offensive or awkward about it. Of course, I understand your wish to be careful in your messages. I can be abrasive at times (spiky fur aside) and I try to remember, when I'm feeling mouthy, that esteem is earned. You've lost none in my eyes, though.
I don't actually think hoarding items and overcoming bosses without them is necessarily an indicator of personality. If one completes a game with a cache of resources that is not burdensome, I think that is entirely within the game design, and intended as a valid outcome. (I've played Skyrim a great deal as a Khajiit, for reasons you can probably guess, and I nullify advantages, fast travel, and even wagon/ferry rides by hauling huge loads out of dungeons. Now that's burdensome...)
OTOH, while I dearly love the NES Mega Man games, I felt (even as a youth) that we were hoarding our weapon energy to the detriment of fun and experimentation in the game, because there is so much emphasis on the Robot Masters and too few chances for resupply. I quite often think about how the Mega Man games could have evolved if you were forced to choose or try stuff more often, and I wonder if newer titles could follow that philosophy. (MM 11 came part of the way, I felt.)
I do hear you about chilling, though, and I agree. I think Kate's right about that part. There's good and bad stress in gaming, right? That's why I play Ikaruga and Danmaku early in my day - a shot of something strong puts things into perspective. Stay cool!
@Snatcher - Complex is a way to describe it I guess. I’ll try to send him a message this afternoon and see what’s up. I’m sure he’s fine though, people take breaks from interacting from time to time.
@TheJGG Yeah... now you finally know the truth. Don't make fun of it, though or I'll have to snap my fingers...
Silly me... and here I was thinking the XXX meant your birth year. Like @MarioLover92, Landroid91 (Tyranexx), Zeldafan79, our very own @ogo79 and so on. Was gonna ask how you were managing to give us your classic dry wit at ninety years old...
You kids and your “talkies” have no idea about REAL entertainment. If you’ve never sat around the radio with your Little Orphan Annie Secret Decoder Ring eagerly awaiting the secret message, you just haven’t lived. Yessir, things were better then in the 1930s, we had grit and gumption then, something you kids would known nothing ABOUT! Where’s a cloud, I’m gonna yell at it!
@Snatcher You and me both, I find myself posting comments less and less because of how heated comments sections can get. I do find myself commenting occasionally on articles that don't seem "sensitive" for lack of a better phrase, like expressing excitement or happiness for a newly announced game for example, or even the "what game are you playing this weekend" posts (BTW, this past weekend, it was Apex Legends, love the new 3v3 Arena mode).
@Link-Hero - Well, he clearly occupies a chunk of your headspace, and this can’t be good for you. He clearly doesn’t want your “advice” as you seem to think of it, so just forget about him entirely. And how would he know you’re talking to him when you don’t at him unless he has you on ignore?
@bimmy-lee Just to add something on the matter He admitted to Eel that he is logging out of his account just to see who (and what) is talking about him.
He just want attention and drama because he is lonely and depressed often as almost nobody want to be his friend
@Link-Hero - Well that should tell you all you need to know about the level of interaction he wants to have with you.
@Zuljaras - Haha, that’s pretty dramatic, but not entirely surprising. I did mention to Thanos that I understand now that at least a certain amount of the drama that comes up for him is self inflicted, but I guess that’s just the way things are for him.
