@Tyranexx I finally beat that one boss!!! I used Shulk, Riki, and Reyn. Made a decent amount of progress today, as well.

Shulk makes a decent backup tank; he deals plenty of damage and can also help heal in a pinch. There were occasional setups when I didn't use him, but that wasn't often. The character I almost never rotated out was Sharla.

@Heavyarms55 Unlike stop submissions, I've never really bothered with the scanning. Most around here don't really bother with it as it's time consuming and, yes, does earn a few odd stares lol. I don't think there's a way to disable it, but I've been told the game will stop prompting you if you let one of the "tasks" for it just sit in your research menu.

Kids are a definite "No vulgarity" flag for me too. I also don't try to swear if any strangers are around, even if I'm in a group that slings a few expletives now and again lol. I thought I was alone downtown when playing Pokemon Go about a month or two ago, lost a remote raid catch (don't even remember which monster it was now), and used "The mother of them all" somewhat loudly in an area with a bit of an echo. I was already a little worked up from another bit of bad luck. I turned around, saw an older gentleman walking near me who was clearly within earshot, and promptly apologized. I still hope he either didn't hear me or didn't mind lol. He didn't say anything.

I'm debating about taking the older flagship phone approach after this one. To me it feels pointless to drop big bucks to buy the latest and greatest since they release every year. The key motivator for my current phone was to buy one that could jump carriers easily. Verizon and AT&T are the two biggest players in my area, but both use different phone bands (CDMA vs. GSM respectively). I needed an easy way to switch between the two; I was on my previous job's phone plan at the time, and they used Verizon. I was actively searching for a different job then and knew that situation wouldn't last. To save money, the plan was to jump in on my family's AT&T plan and pay my share. Hence the unlocked phone. Plus, I prefer to save up and pay for my technology up front vs. paying for said purchases over time...often with interest.

@MarioLover92 Melia's attacks can be pretty powerful, though her elemental ones definitely require a bit of setup.

Congrats on beating that boss you had trouble with! That's always an awesome feeling of accomplishment, especially after a few attempts. Where'd you stop for the time being?

@SM3DASislit Haha, more like I've done enough internet searching and thinking on the topic to get where I am! There are a ton of suggestions out there on how to manage backlog, though different approaches work better for different people.

I also get the impression you like Moana. It's an excellent movie, one of the better recent Walt Disney Animation Studios films IMO. Though I still haven't seen Big Hero 6.

@Tyranexx The Disney 3D-animated films are for the most part, masterpieces. Have you seen "Schaffrillas Productions" on YouTube? His critiques of Disney movies not only more or less line up with mine, but he also notices general flaws with movies too. He is obsessed with Tamatoa though so I advise you to take caution on that front.

On that "M" note, have any of you taken the time to watch the Mulan remake? I could go on for hours about the poor execution of these remakes, but I'd like to know who has first!

@Tyranexx You used SHULK as your tank in Xenoblade? Did I read that right? Or is the first booze I've had in 2ish weeks hitting me a lot harder than I realized?

@Heavyarms55 Not just Tyranexx, me too. Only because of DE that I even played as other characters, but the first four times I beat it on Wii it was Shulk all the way. No affinity grinds either.

I was surprised when i played Mario & Sonic 2008 Wii, Indonesia country has been mentioned since from the first Mario & Sonic games. 😮😀

@Snatcher I’ve been watching her for about 2 months now. I used to like Calli the most out of the Hololive EN girls, but Ame has quickly become my favorite.

@theJGG Shulk is a glass cannon in all my play throughs. I don't know how or why one would use him as a tank. But I always max affinity my whole party.

@Heavyarms55 The reason I used him as a tank was because at the time I didn’t really enjoy playing as other characters. And considering how spamming Arts tends to draw aggro very easily, battles become a bit one on one. Hence I slapped as many HP gems on Shulk as possible, and gave him the best armour first. Now I’ve beaten the game playing as Melia and Sharla, so on that front I have some experience.

And honestly I didn’t even know that you could gift items to other playable characters. Or trade. Until I played DE, that is. What a godsend that game was.

Shulk is really feeling those hits

@Tyranexx I'm currently at the beginning of chapter 10. I finished watching the cutscene where Shulk beats Metal Face and finds out that Fiora's alive. That's where I saved my game last night.

@theJGG I haven't heard of Schaffrillas Productions, but I believe I'll give that channel a look. Thanks for the recommendation! I don't mind the Tamatoa references either; he's one of the better villains to come out of the more recent movies IMO, though he didn't have a ton of screen time. I might be slightly biased towards Shiny, however.

I haven't seen the live-action Mulan movie. No Disney+ subscription aside, I was burned horribly by The Lion King remake. It wasn't bad per se, but it felt...unnecessary. They also neutered one of my favorite Disney villain songs. I haven't seen all the live-action Disney remakes, but most I have seen range from somewhat decent (namely the ones with more original content, like Maleficent, and I did like Beauty and the Beast), to meh. I don't know if I want to see it as I love the original Mulan and don't want that ruined for me either.

@Heavyarms55 I used Shulk as a backup tank for some party setups. Usually when I was just messing around, not so much for story events. Reyn was my de facto tank most of the time. Though Seven built right doesn't make a bad pseudo-tank either.

@MarioLover92 Ah yes, that reveal. Definitely an awesome twist, though one I (sort of) knew about/guessed going in. I didn't have much else spoiled for me thankfully.

I've watched that Tamatoa guy before. I like his reviews.

@Tyranexx Eww, Mulan's Live-Action remake is terrible. Feel lucky that you didn't watch it and instead watch a Pixar movie like Soul or Onward.

Sorry to bud in on your conversation, but you guys seem confused regarding joining friends in Spatfests, so I wanted to help you out.
That being said, you can just have the two of you join a battle together, the rest of the team will be random people, and then it's the usual after that. (So it's like how Salmon Run is done). I've done this my friend a few times (the most recent we did that was the "Final" Splatfest).
I hope this helps you out.

Okay, that's cool. Sounds like you're quite busy with it. All jobs (unfortunately) have annoying (or dragging) parts, but it seems like you like your job (unless I somehow missed something). It's always good to have fun co-workers (as long as they get their part done), especially if a job is more boring (or tough).

Oh, I didn't realize that. I feel like Indonesia is developed enough to be in the Olympics. Okay, that makes sense. I mean there are the Dream Events in Mario & Sonic.
Huh, interesting. We all have different tastes no matter what it's for. I mean, other people think that baseball is the slowest (or lamest) sport, so it just depends on the person. Boxing was a fun addition to the Olympics. Yeah, I've never cared for UFC (or WWE), as it's either brutal like you said (UFC), or it's "acting", from what I've heard (WWE). I also just don't care for sports, outside of the Olympics.
Yay, that's good that Indonesia has been recognized in the Olympics since 2008 (at least for Mario & Sonic). That's odd that the other Olympic Games with humans didn't Indonesia as a country option, as I believe (IIRC) both the Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic series are made by Sega.

True, I just feel like people should be taught (or directed to somewhere) how to manage their backlogs, especially if they have trouble with it.
I do, although Wreck-it Ralph is my favorite CG Disney movie, Moana is definitely up towards in regards to favorite Disney movies.
Also, am I using that meme too much? I try not to use it too often on here, so I hope I'm not using it too much.
I also like Big Hero 6 and would recommend it. (especially if you like Marvel/DC movies or just superhero movies in general).
I've also seen most of the live-action remakes as well.
(I know it wasn't in your response, but since people are talking about it currently, I decided to throw this in as well).
