@BabyYoshi12 Well, if a game's initial objectives have been reached, then there literally IS nothing to do, and being able to play through it four times because of various endings doesn't really change any of that, because it necessitates starting over four times as well, meaning all the coins and stuff will also be back.
But, in all those four playthroughs, once you have reached that point of finishing the collect-a-thon, it's once again basically just running around in an objective-less world, so I don't see Super Mario Odyssey as a game in which you can do everything. Sure, you can keep running and jumping around like a headless chicken, but seeing as you've already grabbed all the coins or whatever, there is no sensible point to it, which actually IS the case in Breath of the Wild.
But having said that, I do understand the liking one game more than another game, but I was simply trying to line out the differences, and why BotW is a VERY worthwhile experience, regardless of its minor niggles. It was not a slight on Animal Crossing at all, if that was how it came across.
And of course, "being able to go everywhere" is within the confines of the game, obviously, so yeah, you couldn't leave Hyrule, but that's the ENTIRE world that the characters live in, and you CAN, for all intent and purposes, go ANYWHERE within that world, whereas previously mentioned, in ACNH, you already find within the first few moments of the game, that you can't even climb/walk across the first rock that you walk into at the beach.
Mind you: I do really like Animal Crossing, but personally, I would have liked it, if I could truly walk all around my island in any way I wanted to, and not just by hopping streams/ditches in-land, to get to the other parts of the beach. In real life, I also love to stroll along the beach, and I'd be pretty pissed if I couldn't get past a piece of rock that isn't even knee-high...
@Tyranexx Illuminati? Hell, no. I despise those people, almost just as much as those Scientology freaks.
If I really was a Mad Titan, I'd already have snapped them out of existence a LONG time ago...
@Anti-Matter Sorry to burst your bubble, but everybody except you already knew that there wasn't even a remote chance that EA was going to release a Sims game on the Switch. You can keep dreaming, but it's just not going to happen. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment every time, which is something that you shouldn't want to do to yourself.
So, don't keep your hopes up for a Sims Switch Edition, and just play the older games on other systems, and be happy you can still enjoy those.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX Did you watch the video? Watch it and come back because it has nothing to do with restarting the game- you finish the main objective and you go back and collect all the power moons. The Metro Kingdom in itself has a lot of things to do.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
@ThanosReXXX
About The Sims 4 game, since last year during EA presentation i realized EA didn't even give a chance for Nintendo Switch to get The Sims 4. Instead, they add more Expansion pack Island Living for both PS4 and Xbox One. At that point i felt brokenheart, all the hopes for The Sims 4 on Nintendo Switch has gone. After brokenheart, i ultimately decided to buy some DLC for my The Sims 4 PS4 and started to embrace my PS4 Slim existence after i treated my PS4 Slim with half hearted feeling (i was still salty with PS4 before June 2019). After i bought some DLC, i changed my mind how do i deal with consoles. I felt stupid to felt salty with my PS4 before as matter of fact i bought some PS4 games before April 2018 when i bought PS4 slim White 500 GB on 1st April 2018. I chose White color as my effort to get the Best color for my purchase and to realize if i wasn't care at all with PS4 i could ended up by chose Black color instead as the ugliest color. Now, i have embraced both Sony and Nintendo machines, i have rewritten my PS4 games list with new list (i add more new games and revived some titles that i have sold as my anger toward PS4 before). At this point i don't mind if some games are still exclusive to one machine and not get ported to Nintendo machine since i have the machines i need, i can take a chance by consider the games i want regardless of the version. PS4 or Switch version, doesn't matter at all as long i still able to play the games. After i embraced my PS4 slim, i expanded more my collection by bought PS3 machine on 29 December 2019. I quickly built my PS3 games library during early 2020 like i have no ill will anymore with Sony. But of course my Sony games are still safe for kids and Teen, no adult games at all. PS5 has been revealed with some 1st party and 3rd party games from the trailer and i have registered three PS5 games for my next purchase (Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Astro's Playroom and Planet Coaster).
@1UP_MARIO Well, the same can be said about BotW. When you beat the main story, the rest is all just finishing the extra jobs. In Odyssey, when you beat the main story, the rest is just going back and collecting the power moons.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
@BabyYoshi12 no they both have endings but BOTW has more to do as it’s has a bigger world and more quests more memories to catch to get more stories about the champions and then there is the expansion pass. Both must have switch games.
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Well, you can do everything else before beating the main boss in BotW, @BabyYoshi12 .... & it does all serve some sort of purpose towards that end, as well Perhaps if you play it, you'll see what everyone's going on about better
@BabyYoshi12 There's also the Champions Ballad dlc added a good chunk of game after beating gannon. Finding & completing all shrines was still fun - I beat the BOTW story without finding/finishing all the 120 shrines. Fighting guardians to get large ancient cores was fun for a long time. If you buy the DLC, finding the DLC gear was fun. You can also build a house after gannon.
@BabyYoshi12 I didn't need to watch the video, because I was already familiar with the fact that you can replay the game multiple times towards multiple ends. I also own Odyssey, because it is a flagship title, so you might already have guessed that I did...
Either way: my point stands. In all those ways offered of replaying the game, it still remains a fact that if you've finished collecting all there is to collect, which I previously referred to as the collect-a-thon, to already indicate that there is indeed a LOT to do and collect in the game, then there just isn't anything useful or fun left to do. Well, unless of course you enjoy running around in worlds/levels that you've already completed multiple times over, that is...
In that respect, both BotW AND Animal Crossing New Horizons have tons upon tons more replay value, because the gameplay is theoretically never-ending.
@Anti-Matter I wasn't really asking for any explanation about your feelings on The Sims, I just wanted to make you understand that you should have a more realistic expectation about it.
But if you do make me a text wall, then mind your spacing, my friend. Mind your spacing. Opening up your text wall with spaces makes it SO much easier to read...
@ThanosReXXX No, that’s not the point. Watch the video, it’s very different. There’s four endings within one play through. There’s 999 moons, that’s a lot. There’s not infinite shrines in BotW, at one point you’ll have done it all. @BruceCM Same with Odyssey. It doesn’t force you to move to the next kingdom. You can stay and collect all the moons if you want to. Or you can come back and do it later. I will play it, I don’t really know why we’re talking about BotW, I was just saying Odyssey is open-world. 🤪 @1UP_MARIO There’s no ‘infinity’ in either. 999 moons, 120 shrines. Since the shrines are bigger, it’s about even.
At the end of the day, they’re both huge, if you played and enjoyed them both, why does it matter which one is better? I’m just saying, Odyssey is huge too.
i think the bugsnax walrus may have eaten the pikmins, that's why pikmin 4 hasn't been released

I was all grumpy this morning when I woke up because I am never really a fan of working on a Saturday... even when I technically was told I could have blown it off. But it seems fate wanted to reward me for being slightly less lazy today. While having my morning news, I saw the new Pokemon VGC rules - and most importantly the news that the DLC came with an update that lets us "legalize" Pokemon from previous games to VGC/tournament play! This is a change I have been BEGGING for since XY! But it doesn't stop there, the DLC adds a way to reset effort values of Pokemon, meaning you can retrain old Pokemon however you like, apparently as often as you like! Add these things to the already existing hyper training feature and it means all my old random shiny Pokemon are now fair game!
And if that wasn't enough, while I was drinking my morning coffee and listening to the update news: I hatched a Shiny 5IV perfect Magnemite in a beast ball!
Maybe I should volunteer to work on Saturdays more often?
Oh, and after work, I'm doing the Pokemon Go community day, and then getting sushi for dinner!
