@Not-Geno That translator is not really helping, seeing as it doesn't translate Wingdings back into text...
Here's a crazy idea:
Why not just type actual text, so people might now what you're trying to say the first time around, instead of them having to do stuff they don't want to do, to find out.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
Ubisoft is giving away a free copy of Rayman Origins to anyone who watches their twitch feed for 30 minutes or more. You need to link your twitch account to a Ubisoft Uplay Account. It starts in 20 minutes and 1:30 Eastern Time Zone. All the information is in an article from June 4th at Gameinformer.com.
@Octane I didn't forget. I didn't know it existed at all! That's encouraging, I'll have to go find that. Then again, why is it behind closed doors now?
@BacklogBlues Cool promo...but....I'm not sure I'd link anything to a UPlay account no matter what is free....
@NEStalgia That's what they did last year as well. Press only at E3, and public demo at Gamescom. There was a hidden Dropbox link in their presentation from yesterday that contained a thank you message and them explaining why the public won't get to see the demo until Gamescom (them being Europe based may have something to do with that as well). But it was also to build up hype. Every major gaming website is present at E3, so it makes sense to show it there, along with a more cinematic trailer. And Gamescom is where the public is; but people will have something to look forward to since every gaming news site will be talking about it. I dunno, they're pretty transparent about it, and they said that they think this is the best way to gain the most publicity.
My mother bought a little bottle of eucalyptus essential oil at the pharmacy, mostly because the oils are a novelty there, so I bought a small cheap humidifier to try mixing some drops of oil in the water...
But apparently that's bad for humidifiers?
Anyone here has any experience with these things? The humidifier is small and cute, I'd hate ruining it so quickly.
@Morpheel - I actually did some internet research on the topic because I wanted to put eucalyptus oil in my cpap machine, which is basically a humidifier. The manufacturers say to not put essential oils in the machines as the oil doesn’t evaporate like water. It can leave scum in the reservoir, and it can also be pulled through the machine and gunk up the mechanicals. I also read a lot of people who said they put it directly in the reservoir and haven’t had a problem. Other people said it ruined their machines.
If the humidifier is expensive or special to you, I would advise against it. Try putting the oil on a small dish, or a cotton ball, and then place it near the intake. That works really well for me. It does eventually evaporate sitting out in the open, but the effects last a while. I recently switched from eucalyptus to a blend by Doterra called breathe. It’s basically eucalyptus with mint in it.
@Bimmy-lee: Thanks for your input! It’s my first humidifier. Cheap one, but quite nice.
I mixed some oil into the water before reading about it, so we’ll see how it does. The humidifier actually comes with a circular slot around the nozzle (?) where you’re supposed to place an scented ring that came with it.
I didn’t use the ring because it’s only one, and I wanted to test the oil. Maybe it would better to use that slot in the future.
On a tangent, I was so mystified playing with the humidifier, trapping the mist in a wine glass, looking at the cool effect... That I went and dropped one of the glasses and now there’s sharp bits on the floor. My foot has been stabbed.
@Morpheel - You’re welcome. It’s knowledge I thought I’d never be able to share! I’m sure you’ll be fine just running a single tank of water with oil. It might be fine if that’s how you always do it. I’d use that slot in the future. You could put the oil on the ring, or figure out something else that will hold the oil and fit in the slot. Some of them have porous stone discs that absorb the oil, and then they can be placed safely in the machine. You could always run a diffuser near the humidifier as well. Good luck.
FF7R looks great. I didn't think they could pull it off, but they seem to have.
At first I thought it was a faux pas going form the high of FF7 to life is strange. But then I understood it, for it also featured a train. Well played, Square Enix, well played.
I caught Ubisoft's conference while at work today. There wasn't too much there that interested me, but Watch Dogs: Legion looks like my kind of game. It's a shame that it won't be hitting any platforms that I frequent. Besides that, the only other standout to me was Gods & Monsters, but I'm gonna need more gameplay for that one before I make a decision.
Square Enix's conference just now was pretty awesome! FF VII Remake looks pretty cool; while I understand why, it's unfortunate that this also isn't Switchbound. My interest is now more piqued with Oninaki, and FF VIII Remastered is even hitting all platforms! Some other things looked pretty cool as well, but those were a lot of the highlights for this RPG fan. I've never heard of The Last Remnant Remastered; would that one be worth my time?
The only disappointment for me was that we still don't have a solid release date for DQ XI S besides "fall". I suppose it could crop up in tomorrow's Direct, but we'll see I suppose.
I really enjoyed the portrait transitions between each thing they showed off as well.
@ThanosReXXX From what I've found on the Microsoft conference, there wasn't much to interest me there. Same with Bethesda; out of their franchises, I'm really just into Elder Scrolls. Blades doesn't look/read like it'll be worth my time. I was hoping for a tidbit on ES VI, but it seems that it's too early at this time for any news on that front.

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
@Tyranexx Bethesda e3 is weird because they're not a big publisher, they only have a handful of games. Filling the same time period as platform holders and major publishers is awkward for them. ES VI is a loong ways away. Starfield is first end there's no detail yet on that. I expect VI will be like FFVIIR. They're going to showcase it the first year AFTER the new gen launches.... And then actually release it right before the NEXT generation releases after that.
Watch dogs looks great. Can't believe I'm not being sarcastic. They took a game with zero personality and made it fun. Ghost recon games are always good.... Clancy himself may be gone but they keep his spirit well with the series.
Bite your tongue. MS had a Tales game. Tales >>the rest of E3 plus PSO.
Dq probably gets a date tomorrow. You know, i have last remnant remastered on ps4 but haven't ever launched it yet. I didn't get the point of the event coverage... I'm watching like.... Didn't i already buy this in, like, December? And then the switch logo came up..."ooohhh....OOOHH.... Wait...&$#+&"
That's weird. Xbox game. Then in November December they pulled it from the 360 store, AND Steam to make it PS4 exclusive. And now it's on switch?
@Heavyarms55
Well...
I guess from what i know, Dragon Quest still looked pretty Japanese due to Akira Toriyama art style while Final Fantasy (especially modern FF) has embraced Western style yet still maintain their Japanese uniqueness. FF X was very Okinawa, very Japanese (Hymn of Fayth was in Japanese language) , very Harajuku in their clothing fashion but still popular in West due to Blitzball, Tidus and Jecht relationship, Sin and Aeons.
I guess....
