@Dogorilla When I wanted to get the Blu-ray from the Walmart I live nearby, they were sold out for a week. So only the DVD was on the shelf, so I had to wait for awhile before they restock the Blu-ray.

@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot Ah fair enough. Wish i lived near somewhere that sold DVDs and Blurays, they're getting hard to come by in the UK without ordering online (other than secondhand stock in charity shops). I did recently buy Community season 1 from a charity shop, and also got Star Trek: The Next Generation complete box set for my birthday

The recent price rises for streaming services again. I've cut Amazon Prime now, still leaching Netflix but am paying for Disney+. I'd consider cutting Disney+ if not for the fact that I share it across the family including with my Niece who is pretty much on it 24/7. But yeah, going to start adding to my BluRay collection again I think

And I'm prepared. Migrated my Unraid setup from my old 2014 i5 4950 machine to the 2021 i3 10105F HTPC build I had. 512GB SSD for cache, 2x 10TB + 2x 2TB HDDs for a total of 14TB of usable storage, 2.5Gbps network card. Plus my trusty old 1660Ti for a very overkill hardware video decode acceleration. So very much ready to pick up some movies to rip and add to the collection

........ and probably need to get a bit of a move on because it's getting increasingly difficult to find the movies I'm after

I recently bought Future Boy Conan on Bluray after finding it for around half price in HMV. I've never really got into TV anime (other than Pokemon as a kid) but I'd like to give it more of a chance, and this series caught my attention because of the Miyazaki connection. Also bought Puss in Boots: The Last Wish because I still haven't seen it and everyone says it's great.

It is interesting to read about all the differences you mentioned. I ordered the 4k version of "The Neverending Story" today and I was thinking that this version might be worse, than older releases. They might even have censored some stuff. Thank you for your post, I learned that I should inform myself better before purchasing a product.

And I should give the older Dragon Ball Z movies a try.
