@RR529 Ooh, nice picks. I was able to buy two Limited Editions of Star Wars: A New Hope & The Empire Strikes Back. The difference is...that these releases have the theatrical (as in the original versions) of the films.
Plus I ordered the Blu-ray version of King Kong vs Godzilla 1962 Japanese version. Criterion's is way too expensive for me.
Lastly, I bought the Seven Heavenly Virtues. I see you bought Eiken on Blu-ray.
I just ordered four "Bill Nye" DVDs from Disney Movie Club. I'll do a little more shopping soon because that site's going to close in May after 23 years.
I picked up "Wish" on Blu-Ray, and just for the heck of it I also got the "Best of Warner Bros. 50 Cartoon Collection: Looney Tunes" on DVD (which I found out came out in 2013, might explain why it was like fifteen bucks at Target).
I grabbed Keeping Up Appearances on DVD (only saw some YouTube clips previously), and completely forgot that the 4K version of Super Mario Bros. (1993) was also out (there was a 20% off sale on all TV/movies), so now I'll have to wait just a bit longer for another sale. I wouldn't be totally opposed to paying full price if there wasn't some silly premium on this particular release.
the new 4K Blu ray Ultimate Collectors edition of Aliens arrived today. I'm glad I finally have the movie. alot better than trying to track down the old Quadrilogy DVD box set.
I used to have an older Special Edition DVD of Aliens years ago where the movie had the infamous scenes put back in the movie such as Newt and her family and the rest of the miner folk, Ripley sitting on a bench next to a holoscreen, and the Burke cocoon moment

I saw an Anastasia Blu-Ray a few weeks ago while thrifting, but as I couldn't remember if it's one I liked as a kid so I passed on it.
I'll see an HD DVD occasionally as well, but pass on them as I have no way to play them, and from what I've heard in physical media spaces they have pretty bad manufacturing quality and many of them are starting to rot out.

@RR529 I see HD-DVD's once in a blue moon in thrift stores. But mostly online, like eBay, is where you'll find them alot. Warner Bros. HD-DVD's are pretty bad quality in particular.
I came close to getting Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire DVD/Blu-ray Steelbook from Walmart but I wanted to get Abigail...so...yeah.
My next picks are from Criterion & Shout Factory. Namely, The Blob (1958) & X The Unknown (1956). I already have The H-man on DVD from Toho through Sony's Icons Of Sci-Fi Toho Collection DVD.
The set isn't what I call "definitive" in terms of the transfers of the films. But considering that they are some of Toho's earliest films from the late 50's & early 60's, I'll give them a thumbs up. The translations are top notch as far as I can tell. Plus, Sony did a decent job with the presentation, considering they're released from 2008.
So I'm aiming to complete the "Blob Monster" genre set. Also apologies for the long text...
