Hoffy1138's YTPs just keep getting better... this one's one of the best all-around, I think.
Perhaps this isn't the most positive contribution, but I don't exactly get the appeal of the show. I mean, I could understand why children may like this; pretty colors, occasional joke or two, random songs. And there's morals in the end of each episode, so it's actually very beneficial to a child... But why are (err, did) we see this sudden increase in FiM fans where the ages ranged from 16 to early 30's? I suppose the much older audience might be able to find some nostalgia while watching, which is understandable... to an extent. But most 'Pony fanatics' don't seem to have even grown up with the show, so what's so special about it? Are really perky yet irritating songs with morals blatantly spatten all over them really what teenagers dig now? Not to seem offensive, but realistically, the only pro about this show is that a lot of people don't really get it or understand its praise, so I guess that could make you seem more hipster or something...? Seriously, I don't get it.
@JoeBroku: I like the show but I'm not crazy about it either. I just like to watch any episodes that is not first, last, and sometime second or second last episodes because it is something different and it is more of relax show. Even those episodes have drama or troubles but its all work out in an end. So basically I would watch this show if I feeling down or brighten up my day first thing in the morning. It is like watching Digimon, Pokemon, or other kids shows in the morning. That is why I don't watch other episodes because they are too serious.
Problem with soap opera, mature anime, and reality shows is that it is always about negative things. News doesn't help either. Watching an positive than negative shows is very rare now a days at least in my own opinion. I supposed you could say I like Family Guy, American Dad, and other similar shows.

I`m not the best at explaining it but I`ll try. Hmmm, hipster`s I think are part of the fan base. From what I know, the art style is appealing. The stories can be full of references and jokes made for the older viewers. Though I find it comes down to how well written and diverse the characters are, there is pretty much a character for everyone and all have about the same screen time. Also the writing is good, never goes into an extremely gender particular territory. Personally I just love the character`s interactions and how unique they are when they interact. I think everyone likely has a couple favourites from it.

I wish I could watch the stream but our internet speed has dipped drastically this week (I suspect my father downgraded us for cheap reasons) rendering stream watching impossible. Ugh...

@Lunapplebloom Nice comic review, just a piece of advice: you should really summarize the plot of the comics a bit more, don't explain the story so thoroughly, that is what Wikipedia is for.
Trade Ya uh? Interesting episode. Definitely good, but I would put Scott Sonneburn's Somepony to Watch Over Me, above it, even though most bronies seem to disagree. I guess in the technical part this one is a bit better.
If I have something to commend this episode for is using common tropes well. However, it was far too predictable and that took some points from it. I may have mentioned before that my head is like a private TVTropes, I could predict far too many plot points of this episodes's THREE story arcs for it to surprise more than twice (Thank Celestia for Pinkie Pie and mythical creatures), but that is just me.
Still, I can't believe that some say the trading sequence was not predictable. Of course I couldn't guess exactly how it went, but the fact that they were going to need to get lots of stuff to get that Daring Do book and that they would have to work hard for that stuff were more than obvious. So it was that at the very end the whole trade would end with Fluttershy getting her bird whistle. I thought that RD was going to trade some Fluttershy's goods, and was amused when she traded Fluttershy herself, that was a good idea. No, it was not surprising, I have seen it before, but it was well played, and teaches the same good lesson, friends are more important than material things.
I knew Rarity and AJ, would both find stuff they want, would banter about it and then finally get each other something, far too simple. Good banters though. Didn't expected Pinkie doing that whole show for "selling" Twilight's books, but I knew our Princess was going to change her mind about trading them.
Overall the episode was well written and it was lots of fun. Wonderful details added to the stories in very funny or interesting ways. Visuals and the design of some characters were stronger than usual, and we had massive continuity nods. Also, love Twilight doing some Princessy stuff. Even if predictable you won't hear me complain about this one.

[On Fimfiction Dark Incomplete Teen]
After a terrible accident, a filly called Twilight Sparkle disappeared. After 15 years she is returning home. But knowing about her past, and after hearing some disturbing information about the mare, Luna and Celestia are unsure of the stability of the damaged pony. They will have to take precautions against her.
First of all, yes this is an alternate universe story, and a very dark one. To my friends that don't like gore: Stay away. It is not terrible, but it is there.
In this Equestria, Luna was never banished to the moon, and darker enemies plot against the ponies. A Twilight Sparkle possessed by an murderous entity is forced to work for this evil. With the help of her girlfriend Octavia, Twilight tries to keep herself sane just enough to fullfil a mission and nothing will stop her; not even Luna's student and awesome soldier Rainbow Dash.
With great management of characters and subplots, nice descriptions and a foreboding atmosphere, this story is a crushing tale of loss in which more and more bad stuff keeps happening. Will there be light at the end? I don't know, but the author has done a great job making me want to figure that out.

Volke s posts never make any sense to me really. I have notices some Season 3 bashing but that is all. I think that is kinda justified, too. Worst season by far. Nearly everybody seems to be postive toward Season 4 expect some complaints about Pinkie Pie now, and i would agree with those complaints too.
