There have been a few games that made me emotional, but as for a few recent ones:

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (as other have mentioned). I played the game solo first, and it really got me. I also still really love how the act of controlling the game (at least in single-player) actually plays into the story and the feeling you get from the game. After I beat it, knowing full well what would happen, I made my wife play it with me in two-player mode, leaving her totally blind as to the story. Naturally I had her play as "Little Brother." I will never forget her sobbing as the game forced her to slowly bury my character. Even though I knew it was coming, it still got me again as well. Honestly, I even feel a little emotional just typing this up. A powerful game for sure, and one that had a huge impact on my wife realizing that video games are not just a childish hobby.

The other one was Rakuen (played this on PC). It's from someone who worked on To The Moon (music I think), so I see a lot of comparisons. I still haven't gotten around to playing To The Moon yet, so I can't compare myself, but this game really made me feel a lot of different things. Mostly sad, haha, but I also got a lot of that Ghibli-esque feeling of childlike imagination and wonder. I would definitely recommend it if you're in that kind of mood.

Maboo

Grandia 1.
I played this game about 5-6 times, last one being a few months ago on the Switch, first time when I was around 9-10 years old. I'm 28. This game always makes me emotional, and it intensifies the older I get. There's something so pure about how Justin see's the world and I think this game defined me as a kid.

I will answer it slightly differently but Fire Emblem with its permdeath has made me care about its characters without cheap pull stringing cut scenes. To avoid losing my favourite characters and the sadness that follows I will go way back in the game to ensure those fighters are levelled up enough or re-work my strategy on the map.

Alright, I gotta stop getting into arguments with jump. Someone remind me next time.

Still can't listen to "Eyes on Me" from FFVIII when it comes on shuffle without getting a little teary eyed.

The game that got me in the feels most recently was Sayonara Wild Hearts. I'm familiar with the concept of a "break up album" to help with turbulent moods, but this is the first "break up game" I've heard of.

Fantastic regardless of your relationship status, though.

A few parts of Planescape: Torment got to me. Especially a moment involving Morte and the Pillar of Skulls.

Also the ending of Journey.

The credit roll for BioShock Infinite is pretty special.
