Square Enix just trolled people on Kingdom Hearts. They're showing the new mobile game xD. Square Enix's conference has been pretty bad too. Not as bad as Nintendo's, but still pretty bad.
Out of 10 how disappointed are you guys of this Nintendo E3? Myself a 11. This E3 Diredct was outright embarassing and compare this to that of Sony's and Xbox, you don't wanna do that cuz this would be butchered. I was hesitating to buy myself a PS4 couple of days ago but ordered with full of guilt. And now after this E3, I couldn't be more happier by the decision I made. "DISAPPOINTING" E3 direct by Nintendo. And this could be just be the beginning of Wii U decline and I doubt the Retro Studio and Next Level project have all been moved to Nintendo's NX. Oh God this was Dissappointing...
Nintendo's presentation gave me the feeling that their development focus has now shifted to ensuring the NX has a strong launch line up. That was to be expected at some point of course, but it isn't much use to me right now as I own a Wii U (which at least still has a catalogue of quality over quantity).
The only big hitter in there (IMO) was Starfox, which looks a little... meandering. It also looks like having to render 3D images on both screens is taking its toll. That leaves Super Mario Maker which I might really like due to its massive scope for creative expression, but I think it's a try-before-I-buy product.
Well, I figured Nintendo were either going to knock it out of the park or completely drop the ball... rather unfortunately, it turned out to be the latter.
I had a rant written up but after reading the replies, it needs no repeating what went wrong. Everything that could have possibly went wrong with that conference did. I'm still in disbelief in how underwhelmed and plain bored I was through most of it.
At least I was a lot more entertained now by the comical and cartoon-y deadness of Squeenix's conference in the time between the interesting stuff. New Star Ocean had me like yes, oh yes. Little bro was impressed with the KH3 footage. The Platinum and Tokyo RPG Factory games have my attention and FF7 remake still giving me goosebumps despite not having any nostalgia for that title whatsoever.
Current Playlist: Age of Calamity, Stardew Valley, ACNH
I don't think I agree that the development is shifting to the NX because there's still quite a few games in development. Zelda is delayed. We still know nothing of Retro's new game. There's another Mario game in development. We have at least one more Metroid game in development (hopefully 2 and Federation Force doesn't count). I doubt these are NX projects (or if they are, they're cross gen titles that will also be available on Wii U). It's more likely that we're simply in between big games and 2016 will show off a lot of great Wii U games.
