So I am watching the Bethesda E3 conference because I missed it before, so far... Doom is so disappointing
Just finished, the post-show is now starting. The whole conference was just ok. I never played a Fallout before which probably has a lot to do with it, but I find it hard to say Bethesda did a good job when they focused about a hour on that 1 game. Not impressed with any E3 Conferences yet, we will see what happens the rest of the week.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Is a Final Fantasy Vii Remake even worth it though. It would be incredibly expensive, you'd have to change so much of the game and the type of RPG doesn't really do well.
No, it's not. It would take 3+ years to develop, cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and require a team of hundreds. Pretty much the same as a brand new game. After all of that, it would be lucky to sell half as well as the original, because that's generally how remakes work.
The original is currently available on 6 platforms, soon to be 7. Not sure how much more of an audience they could hope to gain with a remake.

If you need hundreds of millions of dollars to remake a PS1 game, you have failed as a company.

Assuming that it's a full ground up remake with modern tech. Not just backgrounds re-rendered in 1080p and replaced character models. There are mods on the Steam version that already have this.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Considering said PS1 game was nothing but pre-rendered backgrounds and low poly cutscenes, you'd have to spend a lot of money to turn all those backgrounds into 3D.
I disagree, I think if it is released on PS4 and PC it could sell gangbusters. It could also allow a whole new generation to experience it, and allow Square to make more spinoffs.
No FF game has sold as well as FFVII since FFVII. It was the high point and ceiling of the series. Sales have gradually dropped over time. FFXIII was the worst selling FF game since the SNES days. FFXV will reverse that trend. FFVII-R would not.
The new generation can experience it right now. It's like 10 bucks on Steam.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
