I only have Radiant Dawn, and am starting out on Very Hard. I love the game but its..... well too hard right now (Im not going to an easier difficulty BTW)
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
Meh okay. But its story wasn't comparable to other installments.
Oh, and thats IMO.
That's not IMO, that's fact. It seems senseless to me to compare what's practically improve work to a story that was carefully crafted right from the get-go.
I love all of them, but honestly Sacred Stones is my least favorite. All fantastic games though. I say get them all and that includes the DS version.... unless you really need a good story in there.
@zez: is that your first one? Path of Radiance is fantastic. Better than the Wii sequel (in my opinion), but both are more than worth checking out, as they're my favorites in the series by far.

I'm definitely going to get PoR sometime, but as of right now my only GCN controller broke D:
And yeah SD was my first. And I know that it was a remake of the NES game and had a bad story blah blah but I still enjoyed it :3
If you enjoyed Shadow Dragon so much, you'll enjoy the others even more. Yeah, Shadow Dragon is a great game, but it's clearly the worst in the series. There's barely a story, the characters are like zombies and the maps are pretty dull looking.
I suggest playing the 2 GBA titles next, since they are almost flawless games (well, in my eyes they are). I'm also confident that the Fire Emblem 3 remake will come out here eventually. They would be stupid if they didn't bring it over.
Of all the Fire Emblem games out there, the worst one to start with is definitely Radiant Dawn. But for huge fans of Fire Emblem, I'd say that Radiant Dawn is the best of the bunch . None of the other FE games match Radiant Dawn when it comes to toughness, hardcore gameplay, impossible odds, and "This is it!" feelings. I can't wait to see how Intelligent Systems is going to top that!
Sacred Stones is boss, branching classes, the opportunity to use anyone without crippling the rest of the group, the game not ending after the final boss.
Also I don't think there's any character more awesome than Joshua! Although Lucia is pretty awesome too!
^ Amelia, Cormag, and Gerik were my absolute favorites from Sacred Stones. And yes that game is incredible. (Still need to finish my second playthrough, though!)
The only Fire Emblem game I have played is Radiant Dawn and it is really good. It's very challenging and will take some time to finish. Also, I know this thread is about Fire Emblem, but if you have never played the Shining Force games, definately check them out. Both 1 & 2 are on the VC.
So, is the GCN Fire Emblem or the Wii Fire Emblem better? I think I'll get one of them. I'm not new to the series or tactical RPGs.
The story is better in Path of Radiance, but the gameplay is better in Radiant Dawn IMO. Gameplay > Story. They are both great games though, so I suggest buying them both and play them in the correct order. Radiant Dawn is a direct sequel to Path of Radiance. You would appreciate Radiant Dawn a lot more if you play it after Path of Radiance anyway, because all the characters return and are playable (except for 1).
