Oh so many, too many in fact. But the first one that comes to mind is Armada for the Dreamcast. An isometric shooter / RPG with four-player co-op. It was anticipated to be one of the worst games available for the DC. But it turned out to actually be pretty great.
Paper Mario: Color Splash is probably my favorite game that everyone hates. Sure, it's a departure from the classic RPG formula - which is a shame - and the combat isn't fantastic, but I still love it as a whole. I think the world is super fun to traverse, with plenty of puzzles, environments, and fun character dialogue to keep you engaged. Along with that, the music and graphics are absolutely stellar. I can see why people aren't big fans of it, and I still wish that Paper Mario was an RPG series, but I really love this game for what it is.
The Fossil Fighters series (at least the first two) are vastly underappreciated to me. It was a charming series that took that monster collecting formula and put its own addicting spin on it. I poured hours on each game as a kid, and I still come back to play the games every once in a while.
Another game I think goes underappreciated is Dragon Quest 9, I know the whole series is underappreciated in the west but this entry I feel is underrated especially. It was another amazing RPG I sunk hundreds upon hundreds of hours into back in the day.
And it's the only Dragon Quest game to not get a remake (X doesn't count its an mmo).
This entry still remains to be my favorite game in the series with 11 and 5 nor far behind but it holds a special place in my heart and I really hope we get a remake of it soon with HD models online multiplayer and maybe additional Vocations and online events.
@iLikeUrAttitude Fossil Fighters is wonderful! One of my friends recommended me that game and I finished the first one a month or so ago! I'm looking forward to playing the second one sometime down the line!
Also, I have all the DS dragon quest games ready to play on my DSi! I'm really looking forward to playing them!
-Retro Game Challenge
-Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
-Astro Boy: Omega Factor
-Little King's Story
-Muramasa: The Demon Blade
-arguably Kirby's Dreamland 2 (perhaps the least talked about great Nintendo game that also sold well at the time, ever)
-Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails
-Tales of Phantasia on GBA (for a game that's both considered to be dated and not a great port, I sure loved my time with it)
Part of me also wants to say Star Fox Zero, but by that I mean "the core Arwing gameplay of Star Fox Zero" and not the unnecessary Star Fox 64 reboot that misunderstands 64's replayability and also badly needed a multiplayer mode.

This precisely highlights why I enjoyed the game. Sure, it's no masterpiece, but the fact it's crapped on because of its similarities to Sticker Star when it's a heck of an improvement over that game irks me. Granted, the only other Paper Mario I've played so far is Super Paper Mario, so I don't exactly have exposure to the first two titles (yet; working on it).
@iLikeUrAttitude No joke, I was actively hunting for DQ IX a couple of months ago since I really do want to play all mainline DQ titles eventually. However, it's pretty pricey even secondhand. I've decided to bide my time and hope a remake materializes.
@Tyranexx Yeah if you're not emulating the games being a Dragon Quest fan is really expensive....
Prices for physicals cartridges for the games skyrocketed over the past few years it's insane.
I really hope it gets remade but I wouldn't wait til it comes out, no remake was announced for it and it could be years before one releases or is even announced, your best bet is to just emulate the games.
Definitely sonic unleashed, that game did not deserve the hate it got just because of the corny concept, was it silly? Yes, was it bad? Actually I would say no, the combat if anything was very fun, it had combos and stuff to u lock, new moves it had it all.
Plus no one even mentioned the boost gameplay which is amazing, I really would like for sonic frontiers to work something like this.
The. We finally got eggman land and it was everything it was built up to be, it was hard, it felt like eggman, it was great!
And this is all without me mentioning the opening cutscene, alas, it was very poorly received, and only recently has it gained traction.
That and 06, I never played it, but from all the play thought i have watched, the game was solid, and the bugs were the only thing messing up the experience, if it wasn’t for the bugs it probably would have been received pretty well.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Am I allowed to say The Legend of Zelda? Most people will at least acknowledge the impact it has had on gaming, but almost everything I hear about it is how awful it is as a game and doesn't hold up anymore, and I couldn't disagree more. It is hard and easy to get lost, sure, but it is still a blast and all you have to do is follow the clues to figure out where to go next. It is my favorite game of all time and the one I have probably played more than any other game ever.
@Snatcher I looove Sonic Unleashed, the story is real nice in my opinion too, and I love the exploration of the world on the way to levels.
I'd say Super Mario Sports Mix on Wii for me, it's commonly considered not a great sports game, but with the hidden bosses and great variety in tournaments and characters (I was dragon quest cactus guy) I've always thought it was awesome, dodgeball had some really innovative maps too.
Games I'm playing right now:
OoT N64
DK64 N64
Lego LotR Wii
Spirit Tracks DS
TotK Switch
Sonic Battle on Game Boy Advance. I love this game, yet I don't see many talk about it. Really a great fighting game, and a great Sonic game IMHO. Also Tokyo Mirage Sessions, loved it on Wii U and got excited for it on Switch. Really hoped being on Switch would let more play it. Pokken Tournament is a lot of fun.
@Snatcher Another one here for Sonic Unleashed, albeit I played the Wii version. Its ending always brings me to tears.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Snatcher I don't know that people don't like it necessarily, but everyone kind of forgot it ever existed which sucks seeing as it really was quite a good game.

The one game that just came to mind is F-Zero: Maximum Velocity for the GBA. I've just been playing it the other night and it's a really solid game in the series. Sure, the vehicle and world selections are completely different from the other entries (there's no Captain Falcon and Mute City here, for example), but it's got solid track design and the soundtrack is amazing. Easily the most underrated F-Zero game - if you liked the SNES original, you'll like this one as well since it has the same kind of gameplay and visuals. Kind of hoping that it makes it to NSO alongside other GBA games, since unlike the first F-Zero, it has multiplayer.
@FroZtedFlakerZz I remember liking Mario Sports Mix as well, though I no longer have it, unfortunately. I wanna try to get it again soon!

Favorite games: Super Mario 3D World, Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Playing: Hollow Knight
Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
A few of my favorite 3ds games were Codename STEAM, Rusty Slugger's Real Deal Baseball, and Chibi Robo Zip Lash. They all have glaring flaws, but they're also weird and wonderful stuff.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.
@iLikeUrAttitude The only mainline DQ titles out of my reach for now are VI, IX, and X (for obvious reasons; I'd LOVE a Western port of the offline version). The others I either own in some form or can easily buy via Switch. Thankfully, my interest in the series was piqued several years ago (2017ish). Square Enix used to offer some DS titles on their online store, and at one point that included Dragon Quest IV and V. I grabbed the latter on sale and picked up the former for something like $28 new off of Amazon a few months later. VI was rare even then, and I admittedly overlooked IX at the time.
To date, I've played VIII on 3DS and IV/V on the DS. I'm not against emulating the missing holes in my collection if it comes down to it, but I'm also fine with biding my time when I have plenty of other games to play lol. Besides, I still have XI S on Switch and VII on 3DS backlogged.
