My first N64 was a green translucent one that came with DK64, but it didn't work so it was replaced with a purple translucent one.
And my original purple gamecube stopped reading discs, but I got a platinum one a few years ago. That's it, every other console I've had has been fine.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I've had a Gamecube and PS2 break. Don't remember why either one did, though. Wrecked the shoulder buttons on my DSi. On my 2nd DS Lite, the L Button stopped working (probably from Pokémon's L=A feature, at least that's what me and my friend decided), and I somehow got the A button to stop returning all the way to where it usually rests, but it still worked perfectly. My brother, however, had two non-RRoD hardware failures on his 360 before he said "F*** it, I'm getting a PS3!" When he traded it in, there were these wierd brown spots on one (maybe both) of the wireless controllers, and when the Gamestop employee looked at it, he said, "Dude, did you try lighting this on fire?" Those are just my stories.
