Topic: E3 2021 Predictions!!!

Probably because said three games feature almost 0 overlap in audience. Plus, Disgaea isn't Nintendo published, so they don't control the release date, nor do they consider it a monthly title most likely since they aren't profiting on it.

@link3710 I was talking about Mario Golf, Game Builder Garage and DC Girl Power Teens (or whatever it's called) which are all Ninty published. If we are talking about games in general then there are games released every week even if people like to pretend they don't exist because they aren't Zelda or Mario Kart. ;p

@Bolt_Strike perhaps. I still think given the 35th anniversary that Nintendo is planning a Zelda-centric direct in the second half of the year (like they did with Mario last year). I guess we will find out!!

Needless to say, if they don't mention Zelda then you KNOW there is a Zelda-direct coming

There was that weird forced Skyward Sword HD section of the February Direct trying to convince BotW players that they'd like Skyward Sword so if the new Switch revision isn't announced before E3 I could easily see the only Zelda content at E3 being Skyward Sword HD and Age of Calamity DLC with a Zelda Direct happening sometime after mid-July (maybe September like Mario last year).

I don't think that forced section would've happened if BotW 2 news was happening before Skyward Sword HD launched.

@I-U it'll only be one or two trailers. there was only ever one direct that had more than2-4 minutes dedicated to Smash.

I don't have much thought of predictions beyond Nintendo and maybe certain other specific games (Megaman 12 has to be coming, there's no way they need more than 3 years for a Megaman). But I will say, I have a great idea Microsoft should do: Like they show off any major game they can and the first game of their own they have they show "69.99" US dollars, except its then crossed off, replaced with 59.99. And then they do this for every exclusive they possibly have, every time.

Cmon Microsoft, you have a W right there, take it.

@Grumblevolcano I feel like Skyward Sword HD probably won't even be at e3. They announced what they had to announce for it in March, and started to post updates on it on twitter.+

@kkslider5552000 Tbh I wouldn’t rule them out just completely stop selling games and if you want their exclusives it has to be through games pass.

@VoidofLight At a minimum I'd guess a presence in the "coming soon" highlight reel that comes towards the end of E3 Directs and a Treehouse Live segment. That's what happened with the Captain Toad port in 2018.

I think it would get more presence in the Direct if there's stuff we don't know about.

This is still a stupid theory where Microsoft tells the many people who might buy Xbox in the future that they can't actually buy and own a physical version of their exclusives, when some of those people would probably buy into Game Pass at some point because they weren't turned off by the lack of being able to buy the games they want to buy.

The only reasonable idea that this would happen is if you assume Microsoft are crazy idiots. Which is not impossible, but I do have my doubts here.

@kkslider5552000 is it stupid though, their KPI reporting is based on subscriptions and not sales and they released a console that doesn’t even take physical games so their mindset isn’t on selling games in shops.

Your completely right about their gamers would not be accept it but it doesn’t mean they don’t want to get to the point they can do it.

I mean that's true enough. But we aren't remotely close to that happen, in an era where major game releases still sell absurdly well at 60 bucks, and companies are still breaking their own records for sales, and they can't have reason to believe otherwise. It's like when people talk about Cloud Gaming ("but what is cloud gaming?"), and then a Stadia happens and everyone's brought back to reality. Ask me again in 10...no...20 years.

E3 will be interesting this year. I don’t expect anything crazy, but I do think there will be a good surprise or two. Here are my random predictions:

1. A Smash reveal seems almost guaranteed, so I'll go out on a limb and say it will be a Sonic rep.
2. N64 or Gameboy games to the online service.
3. New DK or Kirby game that breaks the mold.
4. Surprise return of an older franchise. (Punch Out!!, Kid Icarus, Wario Ware, F-Zero, Star Fox…)
5. The direct ends with a trailer for BOTW 2 and its revealed it has co-op play. Dun dun dun! (Or the game is a no show at E3, I wouldn't be surprised)

I think there will be more Zelda news soon, but it’s hard to say if it will be at E3 or not. Part of me thinks they won’t announce anything until after Skyward Sword is out. I can easily see Zelda having its own direct like Mario did, but last year there was no E3 presentation, so who knows? Here are my pie in the sky hopes that won’t happen.

Dream Wish List:
1. Luigi’s Mansion, Pikmin, and Paper Mario get 20th anniversary HD rereleases
2. Nintendo soundtracks become available on all major music platforms
3. Pikmin 4 gets shadow dropped and a public apology is issued for the delay 😜

I predict no Nintendo news for the next week. None. Nintendo really gets off on silence, and they're, like, so turned on right now..... outside your window, in the bushes...

@WoomyNNYes I feel like we might hear something from Gamefreak. Maybe a pokemon presents to get some stuff out of the way before Nintendo does their e3. However, other than that.. I agree that Nintendo probably won't do anything of note.

Will we have a Pokéball or will it be a Pokébore?

@TheJGG I'm hoping it'll be good. I'm not really worried as much about Arceus, given most of my complaints are things gamefreak has time to fix, like the stuttering of animations. The only thing that I'm worried about is the world being empty.. but at the same time, BotW itself looked pretty barren when we first saw glimpses of gameplay.

BDSP don't look the best, but I'm interested in seeing if they have the platinum content in them or not. I might get them, since I've yet to play a gen 4 title.

Now, with Pokemon Unite, I don't expect much of anything.

I can see these three titles being covered before e3, with the two main games being covered in the e3 direct as well. Pokemon Unite will probably get a mention in the presents, and nothing else in the actual direct itself.

@VoidofLight I just hope they come up with some interesting ways of discovering Pokemon. If they are rare, then you have to go out of your way to find them, not just keep reloading hoping for a spawn lol. There is definately motivation for exploring building a pokedex. It could be really well done.
