@Heavyarms55@Zuljaras We've currently got quite a few of those tin foil idiots going about their business over here, setting fire to 5G towers. They've already set fire to 19 towers over the last month, and only since a couple of days ago, they've FINALLY managed to arrest two suspects, but these nut cases operate all over the country, and the ones setting fire to them, are most likely the lowest members in these extremist organizations, so whenever they arrest a couple, others will probably take over...
@MsJubilee Look, most if not all of us will agree that this obligatory stay at home business is anything but fun, but it's done for good reasons, so annoying as it may be, better stick to the rules, for everyone's sake, including your own. And you may not think or feel that it's selfish, but I'm sorry to tell you that it actually IS.
Who cares about luxury items or services when there's people dying by the thousands, or hanging on by a thread in an ICU? In light of all that, the importance of a hair cut or any other similar secondary or tertiary need is highly debatable, if not negligible, seeing as we can't even call it an actual need, since it isn't exactly of critical importance even in a regular situation, but especially not now.
And what's even more important: people risking breaking the rules just to make use of these rather unimportant services, are also risking the lives and health of not just themselves, but potentially hundreds of others, and all that just to get a friggin' hair cut? If that's not selfish, then I don't know what is...
You can always just braid your hair, put it in a bun or whatever, for the time being. If more and more people are just going to ignore these rules, because they think they are allowed or entitled to, for whatever reason, then the longer this whole situation is actually going to last, so that'll ultimately do none of us any good.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@MsJubilee We all want things to go back to the way things were. Or at least, the bit that involved not being caught in the middle of a deadly pandemic. But blithely carrying on as if there is no pandemic will only exacerbate said pandemic, taking us even further from that point.
If you’re in an at risk group and you willingly expose yourself to the virus, your behaviour is self-destructive. If not, and you expose yourself anyway, then you risk infecting everyone around you - including much more vulnerable members of friends, family and even complete strangers. This is undeniably selfish behaviour.
You’re entitled to be frustrated and sick of the whole bloody thing. You’re even entitled to be selfish to an extent; everyone is to some degree due to the fact we’re all firmly stuck inside... ourselves. But please try to be selfish - or at least self-indulgent - in ways that don’t endanger other people.
We all need to learn to live with ourselves in ways that perhaps we didn’t before the outbreak, so maybe a little self-absorption is actually beneficial. But it would be better directed towards self-care, self-preservation, and maybe even self-hairdressing, than self-pity and self-denial.
@ThanosReXXX@Maxz I agree that some good practices and reflection can definitely be drawn from this.
When I had to take Mom to the hospital for an MRI last week, I could only walk her to the front desk before I had to exit the building. I'm okay with that. There's no need for someone not receiving services to be in all parts of the hospitals. I'm okay with folks needing space between them at the supermarket. I'm okay putting off unnecessary things that aren't really important in the scheme of things. Ok, so I can't use my refillable 100 oz cup at the filling station.. maybe I didn't need that much soda anyway.

my neighbors just dont get it...
all around us they leave like 3 or more times a day.
multiple grocery store trips and crap.
it pisses me off. they dont care and dont take it seriously.
my dad waited over a month to go somewhere and these idiots leave all day long. i seen one neighbor already go through like 4 gallons of milk in a week. how do i know this? because i see him leave and come home with groceries all the time and fast food the same trip. no one drinks 4 gallons of milk in six days. buy a cow and stay inside. his wife is a cow but ya know, that dont count. this comment was released by nintendo life legend, scholar, role model and the internets most handsome bald gamer-ogo79

@Zuljaras I'm honestly still in the camp of the flat Earth morons being a bunch of trolls who just take their nonsense a little too seriously. It's so easy to disprove their nonsense that they have to be just trolls...
And honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the mind control 5G, nano chip people would totally work that crap into the other conspiracy thread too.
@ThanosReXXX Which crazy nonsense are they spouting? Are they the "we hate China and China sells 5G" crowd, or are they the ones saying 5G is like government mind control?
@MsJubilee Yeah that is pretty selfish pal. Now maybe it is a selfishness I can understand and sympathize with, I'm a pretty selfish person myself. I understand just wanting to do what you want and being annoyed that you can't. Been there, done that. But that doesn't change what it is. A haircut isn't a need, it's a want and wanting to endanger yourself and others for it is pretty lame.

@ogo79 Okay I understand and agree with what you're saying, aside from the milk thing, I totally used to drink that much milk in a week. I used to have 2-3 tall dinner glasses of milk with every single meal. And so did my father. We used to burn through more than a gallon a day in our house. As I got older, I just can't drink it like that anymore. I've developed a very mild lactose intolerance. But my father drank milk like that until he passed away.

I honestly came to a realization like yesterday at how much this killed my plans for the year. In that, for once I had plans, as in multiple, for a single year. :V
Ironically, this was gonna be the year I wasn't gonna be stuck at home all the time. And god damn if everything hasn't given me the middle finger for that thought.

I used to eat smurf berry crunch cereal. Anybody remember Kaboom? The one with the clown on the box.
I heard they took it off the market cause it was giving kids green doo doo. Kaboom indeed!😜
@HobbitGamer Over here, hair dressers that are doing clandestine hair cut jobs can get a fine of €4000 if they're caught, and the person getting a hair cut will get a fine of €400. They should do that all around the world. That'll teach them...
@ogo79 I'll see your "multiple trips to the grocery store" people, and I'll raise you with the nut cases that we have over here: there's young idiots organizing "f**k Corona" parties, and because the weather is starting to get more sunny each day, there's also people going to the parks, all sitting together, nice and cozy, having a friggin' BBQ party. Each and every one of them gets fined 295 euros a head per transgression, so I hope they'll finally start learning...
@Heavyarms55 The nonsense they are spouting is that 5G towers are actually the cause of the Corona virus and that governments are placing them around the world to keep the people sick/subdued and/or to cull society by weeding out the weak and the old, a theory that has already fallen flat because there's plenty of strong and healthy people and young people getting sick and dying as well.

@Octane Depends on your definition of entertaining, then. For me personally, it was pure and utter crap, and after having seen all of that cringe-inducing idiocy, I'm seriously considering denouncing my Californian heritage. What a bunch of f-ing idiots. If I actually was Thanos, I'd probably mercy-kill all of them, because having less idiots would definitely make this world a much better place.
These kinds of examples and the prejudices that come from it are EXACTLY the kinds of hurdles that I had to overcome, each and every damn time people found out where I originally came from, and the fact that such idiots still pop up from time to time, ESPECIALLY in these kinds of disastrous times, only gives new rise to those prejudices.
