@ogo79

So, would you go to the grocery store to be greeted by the cashier who is also dressed like a doctor? Also, such doctors usually wears a white scrub or jacket, not just gloves and masks. You are not going to find any doctor wearing a Pizza Hut uniform. Anyways...renting pizza? Would you try to return a Pizza after it comes out the other end?

I went to an ice cream place recently in my town just for a quick treat and the girl behind the counter was wearing one of those doctor masks. Then she informs me that they can no longer take personal orders. They've gone mobile only. So basically without an app on my phone i can't even grab a quick cone! So anyway i walk out in disgust and without my ice cream.

You know what's stupid though? No matter if i mobile order or walk right in off the streets I'm still standing directly behind the counter to get my ice cream where germs can spread so what exactly is the point in going mobile only? Damn these rules are so idiotic and mind numbingly dumb!

If you're going to freak the hell out over germs at least make sense about it!

Oh and one more thing. I went grocery shopping and not a single live cashier was working. They wanted everybody to use those do it yourself touch screen registers. HELLO! GERM CITY OVER HERE!

Now somebody tell me again what the hell is the point in protecting us from germs if you're gonna be that careless at a grocery store of all places?

@Zeldafan79 Use a plastic glove if you're that worried about ''germs'' on a touchscreen. Common sense and personal responsibility are just as much part of it. At least they're not forcing their employees to take the risk every single day. That's just what it is. Complaining about it doesn't really help. Everybody is trying to do their part, some of it is more effective than other measure, but alas, it is what it is. In the end it's important to minimise the spread, not to prevent it. And with enough measures in place, how silly some might be, people will be more aware of the situation, and take their own measures, even if it's unconsciously.

I decided to check Nintendolife after a long period of being absent now that most of us are having time to waste because of what's happening. It's good to see many familiar names and to see that most of you are taking things seriously. I really wish you the best to you and your families guys. To people that aren't taking this seriously: Please, be aware that no country wants their people to stop producing, if they are taking these measures that will hit their economy so hard it is because of a reason. Stay safe for your own sake and of others, even if you think that this isn't as serious as the media shows, you have nothing to gain and a lot to lose if you are wrong. Personally, I think that things are even worse that what the media is able to show, simply because statistics will never show the people that have the virus but haven't checked themselves.

I am pretty much the same. Only time i ever left my house anyway was to get food and when i went to a restaurant i never sat near anyone i didn't know. If someone moved to a nearby seat i would get up and move away. I never was very outgoing and i doubt i would ever be close enough that anyone could cough or sneeze on me. Oh I'll wash my hands a little more than usual but i ain't wearing no mask. As long as i do like i've been doing and stay away from people i think I'll be just fine.

Anyone makes me sick though and i take them down with me! 😜

All i know is if places don't start opening up soon there's gonna be alot of them going out of business. Then once the world gets back to a somewhat normal state there won't be anything out there left to enjoy. Movie theaters will be a thing of the past and restaurants or any other get together type place will be a distant memory. No more shindigs, hootnannys or Luau's. The concept of social activity will be ruined.

Oh please, you'll still get to enjoy your films in a theatre when this is all over.

Cinema, restaurants etc will be back in a month or two but a lot of the independent ones may not be, overheads like rent don’t just disappear because of this and they don’t have the reserves like big chains do. What I’m most worried about is a lot of the independent music clubs/pubs I like will be suffering, a lot of landlords like turning these places into flats even before this.

@Ryu_Niiyama I'll keep your family in my prayers. Some people believe their god keeps them invincible for going to a church, synagogue, or mosque. My personal belief is God wants me in my church under normal circumstances, and He also wants me to have faith in Him, while using the sense He gave me. On that note, I can understand your uncle's mindset, though obviously he should be staying home. Whatever your uncle's faith is, many worship services are being held online, or at least pre-recorded. Maybe you can convince him to try that, as a temporary alternative. He might like it.

@ReaperExTenebris I totally agree about "best to do it safely". Some churches are also doing creative measures for people who do not have access to online, such as having limited-hours drive-throughs on Sunday, where from a distance, the congregation members can pick up a copy of that week's printed sermon, along with a person's "prayers, & concerns" being addressed by the pastor. Still other pastors are making phone calls, where possible. These times, & circumstances are bringing out some creativity, though some ideas are not as good as others.

@ReaperExTenebris "there's definitely ways to follow your religious practices while still adhering to safety protocol." Yes. Absolutely. My church voluntarily closed down weeks ago, as the entire congregation felt it was justifiable. Most local businesses near me are also closed down, with the exception of the essential places. The nice thing is, local places have many necessities, so going on a trip into another town isn't often.

@Capt_N : As far as I know, all mosques have been closed down across the country since the outbreak (and a statement was made by the Australian National Imams Council regarding this), though via social media platforms, some imams have been giving sermons and the like, particularly on significant nights (and I expect it to be a lot more common with Ramadan coming up in about a week's time).

Very strange times indeed. I always considered my local mosque a safe haven when I was feeling down and/or needed an escape from my worldly troubles. I never even contemplated that something like this would happen in my lifetime.

"Pastoral services" (which I believe extend to all faiths despite the Christian connotation of "pastoral") are still conducted in Australia, presumably for events such as weddings, funerals, Christenings, and the like.

Porygon did nothing wrong.
