Topic: Are we still getting a january nintendo direct?

You guys realize that an ND on the 30th would be AFTER their Financial Meeting, right? Assuming it's happening in Japan, they'll likely have the financial meeting morning/mid-day. It's not unlikely that they're looking forward to a powerful Direct immediately after the meeting to maybe brighten the mood and get a bit of the shareholders' confidence back. I mean, why use the antidote, when you're still standing in poisonous water, right? Wait until you're on dry land before you heal yourself. (Sorry, I've been playing quite a bit of Bravely Default, lately.)

This wait is really bugging me!

I may have some problems...

If we don't get a direct announcement for, well, the Direct, by tomorrow, then we'll know our answer.

I called Nintendo and asked them, here was their response:

I think they're too busy appeasing shareholders to record one!

Either way, it's coming. At this point, I think a Direct would just be a tease reel to tide us over (read: shut us up) until the REAL Direct, probably on Valentine's Day.

Literally the only chance left is if they announce one for Friday tomorrow. But beyond that, nope.

Once every month or two, Nintendo streams a video through their website (Hosted by Iwata) that's usually 20-30 minutes long, where they reveal new trailers for upcoming games, hype up recently released games (sometimes announcing the release of new DLC, etc.), and occasionally surprise viewers with a brand new reveal (Kirby: Triple Deluxe, NSMB2, & Hyrule Warriors were all revealed during Nintendo Directs, for example).

Afterwards they post the video on the 3DS eShop, YouTube, and probably some other places as well.

According to my analysis, If there is no direct before the end of this month, then we may not get one for the entire month of January 2014.*

*this information may or may not be true depending on if this analysis is correct or incorrect.

I hope we still get one this month. If we do than it has to be in two days.

No January Direct it seems, unless they spontaneously announce one tomorrow for tomorrow, which wouldn't make sense.

They had one one in early February last year, so the might have one then now. The only reason for the January one was to promise that the Wii U would get games, If I remember correctly....

I'm sure we'll get one in the first week of February, since a Direct tends to be early in the month following a previous one that had no Direct at all.

I dunno. They've sprung Directs on us before. It's still early in the day. They could announce one for 9am or 12pm EST tomorrow.

I said this ages ago in this thread February is a much better month as DKCTF will be near release, but honestly I don't think Nintendo have much to show at the moment.
