Where does Nintendo usually announce Directs anyways? I see sites say "Nintendo Direct tomorrow" and all that, but can't find anything on Nintendo's site, lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Personally, I think it's possible that we see one either tomorrow just before the investor meeting and then the investor meeting is a recap of it in more financial terms, or the opposite happens: they have the investor meeting and then take the info from that and put it into a Direct for Friday that is in gamer terms. I'm not getting my hopes too high, but I'd love to see that happen.
Also, this is my first post here even though I've had this account for more than five years. I'll have my next one ready once I'm done with medical school.
EDIT: Scratch that, it's actually not. I seem to have posted a few times in 2010 and forgot all about it. Whoops!
First of all, Nintendo have at least one nintendo direct every month (this has been happening since september 2012). So it is guarenteed that there will be one this month.
Secondly, every nintendo direct has been broadcast on a tuesday, wednesday, thursday or friday (in the US). This means the 23rd, 24th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st are all likely dates.
Finally, as some of you have already mentioned, Nintendo tend to announce the date/time of the upcoming direct within 24 hours of it being broadcast. Keep an eye on your email if you are subscribed to their newsletter as this is usually the quickest way to find out.
Despite my earlier posts, I now think we won't get one in January.
We just got a new trailer for Yoshi's New Island a few days ago, and despite how short it was, it would have definitely been reserved for a Direct if we were going to get one (the YNI trailer shown during the December direct was just as short).
Plus we had the reveals of Moon Chronicles & Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate this month, and while they are 3rd party, I think at least MH4U would have been big enough to warrant it's reveal in a Direct, if we were going to get one.
I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
It's looking like it's not going to happen this month. My guess is Valentine's day now. I think it was a really poor move on nintendo's part for not releasing something right away to combat the negative press they were getting.

I'm not sure this will effect them in the long run...
If they're going to have one at all, I'd say it'll be on Friday. If they don't... we'll see something mid-February.
Maybe they just have very little to show this month after the big one they had in December or maybe their plotting a big one for February?

I think it will affect their long-run reputation. They should always have an emergency announcement in case of bad news or very good news from sony/microsoft. They could have used the direct to downplay their problems. Now we're all sitting around for a good month without any news but uncertainty of what the future of nintendo is. Will they release a new console? Will they go third party? Will they make a smartphone to compete with iphone/droid? With no certain information after horrible news and a major drop in stock price, it was a very bad move.

I disagree. They've had these situations in the past and still have a loyal following.

It seems pretty unlikely that we'll see a January Nintendo Direct. I will admit I've pretty much spent my past two weeks waiting for one, I need to get my priorities straight. XD
