Claymore is an interesting one. Definitely action-focused, but the characters are interesting.

A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

Yeah, I watched a bit of that. Never did get around to finishing it, but I've heard some very good things about it.

Saw episode 4 of Gurren Lagann. Not as bad as most people claim it is, but that scene near the end with Boota made me want to laugh and cry at the same time, which doesn't happen very often.

My Haruhi Suzumiya DVD arrived, just watched the first two episodes, which the DVD kindly informed me are in a different order to the order aired in Japan. Apparantly it's in chronological order on the DVDs rather than airing order... except the first episode (00) which is technically episode 11. Jesus, this series is a bit out there before it's even started playing.
But it's really funny. In a watching-in-disbelieving-semi-facepalm kind of way, wondering what the hell's going to happen next. I'm used to my anime being a little more... sedate xD But I like it~

I'm watching Baccano, it's coolie-o.

Right now I'm watching FMA:B. I'm on episode 48 and it's getting pretty darn epic at the moment.

I'm not sure what I'll do once I finish it. I'll probably watch the original Dragon Ball, since I only watched a bit of it when I was a kid.

you're doing it wrong

WATCH IT IN BROADCAST ORDER YOU MUST DO IT QUICK BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

TELL ME WHY FIRST.

Besides which, if I was watching it in broadcast order, wouldn't I have to buy the second series first? I read on 'Pedia that the second series was broadcast inter-twined with episodes of the first series (first 'new' ep being shown as the 8th episode, iirc). cba waiting for another series to arrive, lol.

@Raylax The story is executed far better in broadcast order, trust me. There's a lot of mystery and character development which is only revealed and explained at the "right time" for you to learn about it if you watch it in that sequence, but it's shown way too early chronologically and would possibly ruin the show for first time watchers. I strongly suggest watching the episodes in broadcast order.

Also the second season came out well after the first (like a couple of years later) so I'm not sure what that's about. It probably means they re-broadcast episodes from the first season at the same time the second season was first shown, probably due to how controversial (and somewhat stupid) the second season is, lol. FYI a number of consecutive episodes in the second season are repeats of one another with only slight differences (different "camera angles" or slightly different behaviour differences). I haven't bothered watching the second season because the first completes the story.

Fair enough, lol. I'll watch it in broadcast order. I only saw the first three eps so far anyway.

Good, because a few more episodes and you would have seen the final episode (broadcast order) and had the biggest story twist in the show revealed to you prematurely. Part of the enjoyment is the dramatic build-up to the finale, right?

I rooted around in the first DVD's extras, and came across 'The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade' episodes. I... don't know what to say. I got about 30 seconds in before my brain bluescreen'd and abandoned all expectations to find anything in this series that's not completely batshipping insane. WHAT HAVE YOU GOTTEN ME WATCHING, MR. MACKEREL.

I gather it's some fans that decided to cosplay some episodes. The non-bluescreen'd part of my brain wonders why fandom stuff as random as this made the DVDs. The bluescreen'd part just wants me to accept that "it's Haruhi" and therefore pretty much to be expected of this series.

Someone should record a documentary of someone watching these DVDs for the first time. As they experience confusion, bewilderment, various attempts to understand, before finally succumbing, exhausted and tired of attempting to rationalize, to simply accept that "it's Haruhi Suzumiya" is the only logical reason for anything in the world that doesn't make sense.

Seriously there's a 'making of' extra on this DVD too that I haven't checked out, but by this point I wouldn't be surprised if it was 30 minute version of the theme song played in reverse and voice dubbed by Brian Blessed.

...In fact, I'll be f'ing disappointed if it isn't

No, no, Haruhi (the character's) insane logic and episode 0 aside, it isn't the series that's crazy (...probably) as much as anything and anyone that gets near it.

Finished watching Suzumiya. That was brilliant. Beyond insane, but brilliant. And lol, I get why you're supposed to watch it in broadcast order now (thanks for the heads-up ), the last episode chronologically wouldn't exactly have been that exciting. I might watch those Youtube minis again now I understand who the characters are.

Hm. Next anime to watch... something a little more sedate, I think :3
