Oh, and I came across a series the other day that looked a bit interesting called "This Ugly Yet Beautiful World". Any opinions on it guys?

Everything I know about that show comes from the Wikipedia article and This video. I'm not sure why I never got around to watching it, but then again, romance isn't really my thing.

Eden of the East was one weird show. LOVED the main character, something about him is just awesome (his English voice actor was fantastic for one thing). I wish I was more like him, the way he can just go with the flow and work it to his advantage is amazing. I can't wait for the movie(s) to come out in America!

If you like EotE because of the voice actor, then check out Darker than Black - the main character of that is voiced by the same guy (and it's an awesome series)

I spotted Five Centimetres Per Second on Amazon. Any good? The box grabbed my interest and the film summary sounds right up my street too. Just wondering if anyone else here has seen it.

^ I've seen his other films and they're FANTASTIC. I assume it is too.

And thanks! I started that show a while ago but the first two episodes didn't really grab me...

I've got it over on my shelf. Not had time to watch yet. May do so over the weekend. I've got Voices and Early Days so I'm expecting something similar and equally awesome.

Watched it this evening. It's amazing. Definitely the best of the series so far. The first part is soooo good

That's definately on my list to buy then, after reading the 'Reception' bit on the Wikipedia article too. Although, 'best of the series'? Are there other ones I should watch first?

@Popyman: Yeah, it starts slow... and really confusing, lol. It gets better quickly though.

@Raylax: It isn't a series, he just meant the director's previous works (all VERY worth watching). There's no connection between them besides being amazing.

Cool! I'll give it another try.

None you should watch first. I was just referring to the director's previous filme, Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days. They have similar themes though.

Ah, fair enough. I'll keep an eye out for all of 'em :3

Well a friend told me Digimon Xros wars is getting better so I'm planning on catching up on that today or tomorrow. That's around 15 or 20 episodes to watch. I'll let you all know how it goes.

EDIT: So far so good. I saw 4 or 5 episodes yesterday. It's ok so far,but nothing that compelled me to keep watching. I'm on episode 25 right now and there's 30 out so far. I'll watch the rest tonight or tomorrow if I can put the 3DS down.

I just watched Summer Wars. Holy [Considerable Expletive], that was several distinct and flavorsome kinds of awesome. I love the kinda simplistic style of the animation in Hosoda's films (especially as opposed to the richly detailed backgrounds), it's got a huge amount of charm.
I loved Kenji's design being a shout-out to Makoto from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, too.

I'm going to stop writing now or I'm just going to descend into jibberish Hosoda worship and crying.

Oh yeah, I have to recommend this film to all you gamers here due to its themes, particularly if you've ever played an MMO (not that I have for more than a few tedious minutes). Well actually, I recommend the film to anyone with a functioning set of eyeballs and a pulse.

It's in the post to me as we speak.

In other news, I've just started watching Full Metal Panic FUMOFFU. I haven't laughed so hard at an anime for ages!!

Dunno if I posted here before but, although I don't like it much, I've seen a lot in the past. My current favs though are One Piece and Dragon Ball. I also seen some other shows like Naruto, Shamen King I think, Sailor Moon, and that really old one (don't remember the name) where a bunch of guys turned into bird superhero things.

Gatchaman, known as G-force and Battle of the Planets in the US. I watched it as a kid. It was pretty cool. I loved Shaman King as a kid, too, and Sailor Moon...well, I watched it, but not because I liked it. One Piece is great. I haven't watched it in a while, though. I should get back to it. What Dragon Ball are you watching, btw?

@turtlelink: Gatchaman (you probably saw the G-Force dub).

One Piece is good too. Been getting into Gurren Lagann as well. :3

I just saw all the episodes of Z (thanks to DBZ Kai) so I guess I'll finish up to where I left off in the original Dragon Ball. Its hilarious!

And it was called G-Force? I wonder if there was a manga of it. It was pretty cool.
