...Well, I don't need help anymore, I was able to figure it out myself! I created a string, and had the game check all four directions the robot can go in. Each one that's available adds its number to the string, so the string will only consist of the possible directions. I then used RND and LEN to select a random number, only up to the amount of characters in the string. Then I used MID to select one of the randomly chosen numbers in the string and apply it to a variable. I finally used VAL to obtain the numerical value and use it to determine the direction. Plus, I realized this one method was all I needed for my AI to work like I want it to, besides when they target the player, and it was much more complicated before, so that was really nice.
Nice @BlueRobin2 ! I heard about what happened with PTC Flappy Bird.
If Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy & paste this into your signature and hope it happens. Wait was that just a joke?
hey...guys............
just wanted to say bye cuz the wifi for the wii/ds/dsi is shutting down...
I may never be able to post again...
bye,everyone......I'll miss all of you maybe I will be able to stop bye every once in a while. but nothing will be the same ;_; ...

Why? PTC doesn't use anything related to online connections. It's the servers being shut down, not the actual WiFi in the hardware, so DS/DSi games using local WiFi can still have multiplayer.
wierd... it was said that the wifi for the dsi,wii and ds would shut down... well, good luck for me
anyway. ive got alot of project's.
my newest one is going to be a harvest moon port to ptc programming.
if anyone can help me that'll be awesome!!! so,first i need someone to develope the music, then collision, farming and so on...
also. if anyone you'll be in the credit's if you help.
I will also need alot more help on mine2d( I renamed it to dsicraft).
this project has gotten almost nothing done... so here's a full list of what needs to be added...
1,collision.
2,scrolling(movement).
3,a really big world.
4,block placing and breaking.
5,a big selection of blocks,
(im talking more then 1 b-g-u).
6,animals and mobs
7,health
8,creative
ill take (any) suggestion's.
thank y'all

This is a work in progress. So here it is.
My Work in progress Zelda engine.
(This is poop btw... there will be better in the future)
SO first a few notes this is NOT a release.
The collision issues OUTSIDE the first screen the one you start on, are intentional and can be fixed in a few lines of code.
Third, the npc moves eratically I know. That's normal.
The engine is coming along.
I finally have collision in a somewhat workable shape. @Discostew maybe you can help me with collision since I used your engine type thing for most of this. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but in some instances the player can walk through some solid tiles.
Thanks (And so can the NPC)
Again this is NOT a release, and not a complete project. So do not judge it harshly as that. Thanks.
This took tons of time and work and I didn't do it all overnight or in a few days it's taken me a few months.. So yeah.
And one other important note.
Petit Smash bros will be built on the collision found in this engine.
For instance..
IF FALLING==TRUE AND CDATA(MDOWN)<0 THEN MARIOY=MARIOY+4 'make mario fall in this new lay out.
Got a project? PM ME on here!
Youtube: lostkitty64x
Want help with coding? PM ME! PM ME PM ME!! XD
FC: WIll post later.
Systems I own: ds lite, 3DS, PC/gaming, steam platform. I play alot of games. Just ask ! Minecraft anyone? :D
Ok I got bored and found a mode 7 engine and now I am making a Mario kart like game. It will have 4 cups like normal Mario kart games and a battle mode and a free play mode if you just want to race.
I CAN'T LET THIS THREAD DYE NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh,um...k-k.
im can anyone give me any screenshot's of ptc 3d? I don't know much about it so can anyone give me fact's about this? :l
so,ive got "alot" of failures...
if I was to learn collision,it could bring a big sucsess! im still working on nokai, score, those pokemon port's,dsicraft and that's about it... so yeah... the other project's turned out to be a HUGE fail...
if I can make a real game with stuff like scrolling, collision and so on.im going to need all of the help I can get.
and well,I do have one project that's ready to release! but it's w-i-p...
ive kinda re-made prg:cod_boz
using some of the previous code ive made new grapic's for the gun, crappy harmless zombies,a or b button jumping and a new map! ill get a few screenies soon!

Many of us are still working on our projects to the point where we've got nothing to report yet, which is why this thread feels a bit empty now. Others may have other obligations, like school (it is the end of May, so prepping for finals and such?), work, etc. Summer is also upon us, so plans are being made, yadda yadda yadda.
Well everyone, I have some good news and I've got some bad news.
The good news is that the bad news is not about MM2PTC, so no need to worry about that project.
The bad news involves a separate project that I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. I wanted to contribute something to the PTC community before I went back to working on MM2PTC, as many people have made requests in the past about certain things. The project is an NES-2-MML converter, that would allow you to take songs/SFX from NSF (Nintendo Sound Format) files, play them, and then convert them to MML. The actual conversion is not the problem, as that seems to convert decently with missing effects like vibrato and sweeps. The problem is identifying the main loop points. I am using the source code for the NotSoFatso player for the base so I can get the audio states for the various channels of the music. Unfortunately, the method of retrieving these states operates at 50/60hz, whereas the music itself does not. It's pretty close, but every once in a while, it skips. Here's an example, but not the only case of this overall problem. 60hz, for example, is actually something like 59.97......., so with each second, a little is cut off, and at some point, instead of updating at 60 times a second, it'll update 59 times for that second, and that ends up screwing up the entire loop examination.
So yeah, I've been working on an NES-2-MML converter for the past bit, and it partially works.
Here are some test examples of the conversions. Do not feel intimidated by how big some the music is because I've only been working to find the main loop in each, ignoring any other pattern in the music that would reduce the overall size. Also be aware like I said before that my conversion method is not complete, so missing/odd effects will likely be present.
Super Mario Bros 2, World 1-1 (does loop)
Megaman 3, Title Theme (does loop)
Megaman 3, Boss Theme (song ends with only noise/snare channel looping, the rest do not)
Super Mario Bros 2, Wart Theme (does loop)
Last night I received inspiration about how I may go about resolving this loop finding problem. Technically speaking, the length of each note in the conversion is an approximation to the length in the original music (due to the 50/60hz restriction), which the subroutine cannot compensate for. However, the pattern of the notes that play will practically be the same (except for probably very few instances), so if I look for patterns of the notes themselves rather than including their length, that should highly increase the chance of finding these main loop points.
Bleh, my idea of improving loop detection for my converter has not improved detection at all, at least with the test I've made. This was just a fun project that I was hoping wouldn't have a lot of problems, but since it is now impeding my progress on my main project, I'm going to have to put it off for the time being. PTC3D is releasing in about 2 months in Japan. I'd like to be done with MM2 PTC before it releases in NA.
@Hansausage yes, just make a demo. @IAmAPerson i would rather have a better title screen with more QR codes. @twinArmaqeddonz that sounds like a cool feature for your RPG!
