Topic: New DS Pokémon RPG in 2010

Hmm...I am pretty sure it will include NEW pokemon in a new region....maybe(If it wasn't obvious enough).I don't really care how this game turns out. If it has new pokemon that's enough to get me excited! I wonder what they will think of next lol.

Hey, the Diamond/Pearl gen had Platinum so it does kinda make sense that the HG/SS gen will have a 3rd game too. Maybe it is Crystal....or something like that. :/

HG/SS is part of the 4th generation and so are D/P/Pt!
The 3rd generation had R/S/E and FR/LG which were remakes of Red and Blue/Green
they didn't remake yellow, so why would they remake the third version, that is, as previously stated, already remade in HG/SS?

well but Generations in Pokémon refer to the compatiblity/graphical standards
that means it should look more like this:
R-B-Y, G-S-C, R-S-E-FR-LG, D-P-Pt-HG-SS, X-Y-Z-?R-?S*
*refer to the 5th generation games, X and Y as the standard versions, Z the "directors cut" as they call it and ?R and ?S as the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire (which are very likely to come next)

They can't remake Crystal because they already put ALL the special features of Crystal into HG/SS
also it has already been announced that it's going to be a completely new entry to the series

And how do you even know Nintendo views the 'generations' like that? Isn't that a fan made concept? For me, I think generations = set of Pokemon for the most part. shrugs

Nintendo only looks at Pokémon as a profit, Gamefreak (not a part of Nintendo btw) is the founder and developer of Pokémon
please never ever associate Nintendo as the creators or developers of Pokémon, I'm sick of people giving Nintendo the failt for bringing out so many stupid spin-off games and ripping off the costumer, when it's all Gamefreak's fault

Correct my mistakes? How do you know they are mistakes? You don't. And neither do I.

I understand you have your stance, and I have mine. It is very likely that you are right, but you can not be 100% certain can you? Neither can I. No official press release has been made. Thus, no one is right yet. And no one is wrong yet. We are all just speculating at this point.

I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that so hot on the heels of HG/SS they want to start a whole new gen. :/

I hope there are new evolutions of pokemon like Pinser, 3rd evolutions for Mr Mime and Swodawooda, and more evolutions for existing pokemon that need them.

That's just a press release for a new Pokemon game, that doesn't say it'll start a whole new gen. This is what everyone is speculating about. No concrete information besides a Gamefreak made Pokemon game can be discerned from this.

I honestly believe the reason it's so close to the release of HG/SS is that Gamefreak is just chomping at the bit to make a DSi exclusive Pokemon game. Whether it's a new gen or not remains to be seen...

Here in America, Platinum was announced (2008) and released (March 2009) before HG/SS (Summer 2009) was announced in Japan. Curious, where are you from?

that description wouldn't fit for a remake since a remake doesn't feature new Pokémons (and I believe they wouldn't call it a new game)

Probably means a new gen or could also mean an entirely new type of Pokemon game. Honestly I'd be more excited for the later. I'm going to wait for more details to be released before assuming anything for certain.

Just keeping my mind open to a multitude of possibilities.
