Topic: New DS Pokémon RPG in 2010

This is really looking to be the new sequel of the classic Pokémon series.

It's really going fast as we are still waiting for HeartGold and SoulSilver her in the west so I was sceptical if it was going to be a REAL Pokémon game this year, but apperently it really IS. I'm really excited about that. I wonder how they will take the game into new directions as it is really getting stale by now. Please make it 3D Game Freak, there has been very little graphical improvement over the years.

And make the starter pokemon more appealing. Lets go back to the days where the starters did'nt have two types (I know about Charizard).
Would also be nice if we revisited all regions. And lets not make it more than 600 pokemon.

Johto was the region with pure starters. Bulbasaur= Grass/Poison.

Yeah, all of Bulbasaur's family were grass/poison. Chikarita was the first Grass-only starter

Grass/poison hardly counts. Poison is like an added ability to grass, same with water/ice. Fire/Rock, Fire/Fighting, Electric/Grass, etc. Those are the true mixes, and I don't know who is complaining about that or why. It helps with strategy, otherwise you're stuck in a rock/paper/scissors formula which gets old. If this new game was in 3D I would poop my panties.

I liked it back when the series was about catching them all.

Now it's mostly about adding a bunch of stupid overpowered pokemon, and then limiting access to a whole bunch of them.

Back when there were only 251 pokemon, and most of which were memorable enough, when the majority of the pokemon were available with access to only one game.

I borrowed Silver from my friend a few months ago, and I'm pretty sure that the first gym leader used flying type pokemon.

Anyway, I find it REALLY hard to believe that they're gonna release the 5th Generation on the same hardware they used for the 4th Generation. The Pokemon series always evolved as Nintendo's handhelds evolved. (i.e. Blue/Red/Yellow- GB, Silver/Gold/Crystal- GBC, Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald- GBA, etc.) You guys sure they're not just gonna ANNOUNCE it at say, E3 2010? Anyway, I hope they use 3D graphics this time, because those 16-bit sprites are getting old.

Hopefully, they will release it on the Wii, and bring back all regions, and keep the same movement grid (not the freelance stuff like in the GC games). Heaps good graphics, and a battle system that takes from the handhelds, but alot faster than the console versions. Would also like really good graphics and customization. So everyone doesn't look the same.

You honestly thought I didn't know that? GSC was the only time the series used a non-Rock type, and all I was saying was that I hope for this trend to continue. Pidgey and Pidgeotto were a nice break from Geodude.

It seem's that the next Pokemon RPG game is called Pokemon Ranger Tracks Of Light I saw a video on Joystiq.com it looked fun but maybe it's Pokepark Wii Pickachu's great Adventure.

Pokémon Ranger is an entirely different sub-series, it has nothing to do with this new Pokémon RPG.

1. I hope it's in full 3D (a la Phantom Hourglass)
2. I hope the tutorial is optional
3. I hope it's not a remake of Crystal.

It is not a remake of Cristal because HG/SS are already remakes of it
Also it was announced that it's gonna be a NEW game
