Topic: New DS Pokémon RPG in 2010

It has been revealed that a new DS Pokémon RPG wil hit Japan before the end of 2010. It is unknown if this will be traditional RPG in the same series as Diamond, Pearl etc. or an entirely new spin-off series.

I hope this is the 5th generation, I can' wait to see what the new region has to offer!

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a fifth generation. I don't think we're gonna see a game like that until 2011.

Gamefreak is making it, so it will most likely be a Pokemon rpg

I doubt it will be generation 5. My money's on a brand new off-shoot of the main franchise.

It's a mainline version according to IGN.

Yar its been confiremd its a new main series game featuring all new pokemon, all new world, and new gameplay mechanincs.

If it's an RPG, this could mean a few different things.
1: A DS remake of Ruby and Sapphire or Firered and Leafgreen. (I honestly doubt that, just throwing out an idea.)
2: A whole new series
3: A new Mystery Dungeon game
4: The first 5th Generation game.

@Toon_Link: 3 can be ruled out because Game Freak doesn't make the Mystery Dungeon games

I hope it's a spin-off. The Main series game have been going downhill for ages, and I don't see that changing any time. The last Pokemon game I ever intend on geting is HeartGold, even though I'm sure that'll suck, too.

I hope it's a spinoff too. I still like the traditional Pokemon games, but the series has really gotten stale with the past 2 trilogies.

Waht i really wish is that those dudes over at gamefreak could do something better with pokemon on the wii than minigame collections. Maybe make a new style 3d pokemon sorta what happened to galaxy.
Not that the thought of 100+ more pokemon doesnt get me excited

That is kinda weird how there never has been a Dark type gym leader considering that there have been two more Generations of Pokemon games since Dark-types were introduced.

And a 1st gym leader that doesn't use Rock Pokemon...

Types that only got used once: Bug, Ground and Poison. They should be used more

I second all these dark gym votes, except usually they dont have one because the enemy team usually uses dark and poison a lot, and they dont want to overload the types i guess. Maybe a cool new dark type to go with it?
