Have menu themes that unlock when you scan an amiibo been mentioned yet? Seems pretty obvious, really.

Maybe amiibos would've worked well in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Donkey Kong Country: Each Amiibo affects SOME part of the game world but none is quite the same. Fox turns the barrel rocket into an Arwing DK flys on, Peach gives Dixie an outfit, Marth makes Cranky's cane a sword. Kirby lets DK inhale foes and spit them back out. Etc. Etc. It'd be fun to have a PLETHORA of different applications.
Pikmin. Mission mode stages built around each character. Mini hyrule or Brinstar, popstar or Mushroom Kingdom. That'd be legit. I think I'd even like to see the Pikmin dress up... lol.

The most likely would be the Pikmin one. That'd be cool. I mean, I like all the ideas, but at this point it would probably mean a lot of coding to restructure every other game, where as with Pikmin there it could just have bonus DLC stages. Now, that same approach COULD feasibly be applied to any one of those other games as well, as in bonus levels, but as far as unlocking in-game aspects, it would probably need to be integrated into the coding while a game is being built and not so much slapped on long afterward.
