Topic: Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Thread

So far the overworld seems the same, but I still can't believe that's all there is! It would be extremely dissapointing if this game just turns out to be "Alttp Master quest", especially since we just got a remake (Oot 3D)! I really want a good, NEW, 3DS Zelda game!!

Why does this game seem to be getting so much backlash from some people? I'd be willing to bet that if it was a straight up remake of ALTTP with the same story etc, nobody would complain. Instead, we're getting much more than that, and yet it's still not enough for you whiners.

I dunno, it sounds to me like this is going to be a very different game overall. I;ve played A Link to the Past more times than any other Zelda game, and I've studied the overworld more than any actual real-world map. There were a few spots in the trailer that I didn't quite recognize.

I CAN'T believe there won't be at least 30-50% new on the overworld! Even so most games are all about the dungeons anyways!

It's pretty cool that link has the ability to go on walls.

I tried bringing up Pokemon Black 2/White 2 as comparisons...no one ever listens. :c
This game is a direct sequel to ALttP (just like the Black/White series), meaning they're going to have a lot of the same old areas, but you'll be also seeing new areas, new story, new dungeons (obviously), new bosses, blah blah blah. (hoping there's a new villain this time too)
And maybe they'll be making some big changes for the Dark World (or whatever it'll be called this time)

yeah, this is pretty much me. i dont even like real world maps, but these overworld maps i've been looking at since the 90's out of pure interest. VERY few areas i didnt recognize.

anyone else notice this is the latest game in the "Fallen Hero" timeline since the Oracle games? this is actually my favorite timeline.

I am intrigued by the wall painting mechanic.

I wonder how much the wall painting mechanic will play into boss fights.

I'm thinking of a maze-type boss fight where the boss is looking for you, and you have to hide from it for a certain amount of time... perhaps you are collecting things in this maze, and to avoid being spotted you can turn into the painting so you can't be spotted down a long corridor.

I can see it having a lot of cool ideas for stealth-type areas, which have honestly never been the series' strong suit.

So I was thinking that this game will pull a Donkey Kong '94 on us, where it starts classic and nearly identical, but then it escalates into something much more. I have some ideas about that Shadow Triforce in the logo...

Lol, I was thinking that too! But what if the boss enters the wall as a painting itself? Or enemies? You can't attack as a wallpainting, but maybe that changes later?

Could be, but they probably won't start with the whole Alttp game! But they could start with the same overworld and at some point it goes crazy, that's what you mean?

Kinda sucks that everyone is seeing this as a remake. :c
Nintendo is going to have to show something that's actually new in the game, and soon.

I just am not excited for this title.I'll probably still get it and enjoy it but i'm just not really anticipating it

I watched the E3 gameplay demo Gamexplain posted on their channel.

Lots of exciting nostalgia for me, as it was neat seeing familiar locales reimagined in a new game. However, there were a few differences, like:

• The ruins around the first dungeon seem to have a different layout (it's been awhile though, so I could be wrong)
• There were a whopping three Heart Pieces in that very ruin section, all in close proximity (meaning they're either very easy to obtain this time around, the first few are displayed this way to teach newer players what to expect later on, or it's just a demo thing)
• Once inside the ruin dungeon, they were inside the tower dungeon from the initial reveal (this is probably just a demo thing, though)
• There were giant boulders blocking many paths (although this was likely a demo only feature to restrict exploration)

so guys i looked amazon and the date it comes out is the 30th is this true cuz my b day is on the 9th it might be a placeholder but can anybody conform this

@nintendorocks Odds are it's a placeholder. The chances of a release date being announced by Amazon is slim to none. On the brightside we know it's gonna be out in November so it'll be around that time.
