@Tyranexx haha oh nooo I couldn't. There are many people I like or don't like for various reasons but I'd feel disingenuous projecting a personality onto somebody because of how they look. Too many people have surprised me in that regard. Even people whose actions I've found distasteful redeem themselves in other ways. It's a complicated world we live in inhabited by people who are just as complex. It's hard to remember that in the current time where everything seems so binary. Orrrr maybe you've just caught me in an unusually optimistic mood 😅, albeit a cautious optimism.

Totally agree that it isn't fair to judge someone based on their appearance (particularly if it's a characteristic they have no control over), actions, or thoughts on a single subject or idea. Humans are indeed complex creatures, but those on social media and the tabloids seem to forget that....I was also low-key poking fun at how reactionary the internet can be until the next hot topic comes along.

@ralphdibny As could I lol. I'm thinking about taking a soft internet break either this weekend or next. The net has been driving me a little crazy lately.

@Tyranexx it's mainly the "bottom half of the internet" (as British comedian Dave Gorman puts it) I'd like to turn off I think. I just seem to have a morbid fascination with clicking that 100+ comment section and reading people's arguments. Even if it leaves me quite deflated by the end. In some ways, I just wish the temptation wasn't there!

On the flip side, I need to know the latest Nintendo news so I can spend money I can barely afford on... Well at the moment it's those damn Zelda Joy Cons they recently announced 😅

@ralphdibny Ah, doomscrolling. I fall victim to that as well sometimes. Trying to get a better handle on NOT doing that. Thankfully, I'm getting better at spotting some of the thornier articles here and avoiding them and/or their comment sections entirely.

I'm also keeping an eye out for those Joycons! I'd also like the Monster Hunter Pro Controller, but as usual pre-orders dropped while I was away from the 'net. Doubt I'll get one now unless I find one in person.

ahh that sucks, looks like the MH controller is still available over here at like the Nintendo Store and some other "toy" shops but I don't think they do international delivery

@ralphdibny Bummer. Unfortunately, all the usual retailers here are already out of preorders. Same for the Zelda Joy-cons. Unfortunately this stuff tends to drop when I'm at work or busy, and at least at the former I can't be sitting on my phone refreshing a page every two minutes....

Don't know if this counts as a necro but I appreciate this thread a lot. I've got plenty to collect for the 3DS still so it's nice to know what I shouldn't bother looking for in terms of physical releases.

@Maximumbeans if it's a necro, it's only just a necro! I think the limit is 6 months if I remember correctly but I'm glad you bumped it. Updating this thread has been in the back of my mind for ages but I really just haven't had the time. Hopefully I'll get around to it in the next 6 months before it becomes necro worthy again.

I'm glad it helps you out though. We had a bit of a scare earlier in the year with the PS3/Vita stores so I did quickly create and maintain a handwritten personal list for those too!

@ralphdibny It's all good mate, you seem to have got most of the heavy hitters in the list thus far.
I suspect when they start winding down the 3DS eshop it's going to be very sudden so good to have stuff like this. Like I wouldn't be surprised if, when it comes, it's basically 'yeah this is going to be gone at the end of next month sorry'.

@Maximumbeans well that's more or less what Sony did with PS3/Vita. Nintendo do have a precedent with the Wii Shop Channel which I think had like over a years notice. Not sure if that's because it used the Wii Points instead of real money though 🤷‍♂️

I think my next steps for this thread were to actually go through the "Download Exclusives" lists on both eShops and transcribe them. I'm not sure if or how I'd neccesarily separate out the main titles that people had recommended in this thread already but I'd work something out. Either a separate list or like highlighting people's recommendations. But yeah, I just never found the time. I'll get around to it at some point!!

At some point I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked on the eShop, even though it’s the only a Atlus game that never seems to go on sale in the EU. It’s not an eShop exclusive - but it might as well be. Have you seen what a used physical copy goes for?!!

Gal Galaxy Pain, Horseshoe Crab Rescue!, Moonbound. I think these are exclusive to 3DS. Some of what I've been playing recently.

Is still being updated? If so, I feel it's appropriate to mention that the later Yo-kai Watch games (2: Psychic Specters, Blasters, 3), while having physical copies, are quite rare to come by in some regions (I've only ever seen PAL copies of 3 going for about $300).

This randomly reminds me I want to jump back into Fluidity Spin Cycle. Started it years and years ago but never went back, gotta do it tho

I joined to reply to this thread as the 3DS/Wii U eshops will discontinue credit card payments this month. When this happened to the Wii the entire eshop was shutdown less than a year later. I think some notable releases would include Virtual Console titles only released in the West on the Wii U.

The 3DS also received Mysterious Murasame Castle from the Famicom. (Maybe it was Wii U? I can't remember atm)

There are also several Sega Genesis and NES releases with 3D added in the 3DS eshop.

Lastly, some titles like Fatal Frame Maiden of the Black Water had it's definitive edition on the Wii U as all ports lose the camera functionality of the gamepad. Fast Racing NEO I think is another one only on Wii U eshop.
