Thank you @Tyranexx , is flipnote available for purchase without my Nintendo out of interest? I'm just wondering whether to put a "(my Nintendo exclusive)" note next to it!

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny I believe Flipnote Studio 3D is a My Nintendo exclusive. One would have to go through the pains of accumulating 200 platinum coins, but this isn't difficult.

Hi all, apologies for taking a while to update this list - I needed to find some time where I could sit down on the computer and put them in alphabetical order. Ive also added a title or 2 and put in some extra sections that will open suggestions up a bit. A recent NL article made me aware that there were eShop exclusive ports that had features only available to the eshop versions of the game. Ive made a section for this and if anyone has any suggestions for games that fit this description then please let me know and I will add them to the list. I probably wont add games that fit this description but still have a physical release of the exact same version unless that release is super rare in which case I will add it with a note.

Keep posting your suggestions if you have any more! Thanks!

@Tyranexx thank you, apologies for the late reply but I have added Flipnote Studio 3D!

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny No problem! You're permitted to have an existence off the internet! Excellent work on the updated list! I'll be referencing it on occasion from now until the eshops close.

@anynamereally @ralphdibny This must be a regional thing, but Kokuga is ONLY available on the Nintendo eshop in North America.

Nice thread, btw. Appreciate these sorts of lists.

Would it be appropriate to mention an eshop exclusive that was delisted? Bloody Vampire, afaik, was only ever available on the eshop, and it got pulled. Damn shame right there.

@Tyranexx @Ralizah thanks, I'm really glad you both appreciate the list! Makes it all worth the effort!

I've said it before but I really didn't think there would be that many non-shovelware eshop exclusives. I kinda just thought there would be random Nintendo exclusives (like pullblox), which are the ones I'd be most interesting in securing before the service goes down.

Might be a good idea to add the publisher to each game at some point too, make it easier to see at a glance if for example somebody only wants to buy the Nintendo games rather than third party games.

@Ralizah I'll remember to add a note to Kokuga. It might be worth adding a section for delisted games, just for reference. I'll have a think about it!

See ya!

@ralphdibny Some other games I can't find anywhere other than the eshop:

Chain Blaster
Escape from Zombie City
Ketzal's Corridors
(debatable if it's a game) Nintendo Badge Arcade
Rusty's Real Deal Baseball

Also worth mentioning that Senran Kagura Burst is only available on the eshop in North America.

Also, I believe the two included Ace Attorney games are available on iOS.

Ah, I'd forgotten about Rusty's Real Deal Baseball. I downloaded and tried the free games available but never did dig into my pockets for the rest of the package. That game was an interesting concept indeed.

Both the mentioned AA games are available on mobile. Unless those receive Switch ports, that might be the route I'll have to get them unfortunately. Not sure if I want to bother further upgrading my N3DS XL's micro SD at this point.

@ralphdibny Adding the publisher might be useful info as well, but only at your discretion.

I did notice KORG DSN-12 was listed, which reminded me of a similar app called KORG M01D. I'll have to check if it's a 3DS eShop exclusive.

@Ralizah i've added that list of games now, thanks for the additions! I got a bit confused about Kokuga because I hadn't actually added it to the list because it was a physical game. With regards to that and to Senran Kagura Burst, I'm not really sure how to write a subheader for them without it being too wordy or not specific enough haha. It needs to convey something along the lines of:

Physical Release in Certain Regions, eShop Exclusive in Noted Region:
Kokuga (EU/NA)
Senran Kagura Burst (NA)

As you can see it doesnt look too slick lol. I'm open to suggestions for it! Having looked into Kokuga, thats definitely worth a mention as the physical release appears to be Japan only. Im not sure about Senran Kagura Burst though, i see there is a PS4 version. Is that a proper remake or just a port? If it is a proper remake therefore making the 3DS version unique then I will add it (if i can work out a suitable subheader naming convention). If its just a port then i guess it is no longer an exclusive.

Nintendo Badge Arcade is a really good shout by the way! I have never even looked at it so I dont know if its a game or not, but it is a piece of software that is unique to 3DS and along with titles like Wii U Panorama View, it is not something you will find anywhere else. Titles like that should definitely be highlighted in in this list!

Im allowing games to be in this list if they have been ported to mobile (iOS/Android etc). The reason being is that in comparison to digital stores on consoles, mobile games occasionally (perhaps even typically) have a shorter shelf life on the Play/Apple stores. I think they are more likely to be removed or to become unavailable sooner on a mobile platform than on 3DS/Wii U.

@Tyranexx Cheers for that, I've added Korg M01D now. I hadnt really looked into the Korg titles before and I guess I just thought they emulated Korg devices/software. Now I've looked into them, they actually seem like unique pieces of software for 3DS so its good to have them on this list!

I'll probably add the publishers on a rainy day, perhaps when it looks like this thread could do with a bump. I may take some time to reply to this specific thread in general. I dont even want to attempt copying and pasting from page 2 to page 1 while on a mobile device so I need to save my replies for when I'm actually sitting on a computer which currently seems to be only on a Friday night. So please don't be offended if you see me posting/replying elsewhere before i get back to this thread - It's only because I'll be posting from my phone instead

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny No worries. Unless I can jot out a short response on my phone (Which is how I visit the site 90% of the time), I typically wait until I can access my laptop in the evenings before getting to wordier responses lol. I tend to be more responsive throughout the day on the main site, not so much the forums. It definitely depends on my work day though.

On the Korg titles: I don't personally own either one, but they do seem to have a niche following. Going off of impressions from users here over time, though I can't cite any recent examples. They seemed worth mentioning at any rate!

@Tyranexx same here! I barely use the computer for anything except for filing my taxes and very occasionally making a quiz for the Push Square lot

Actually have been playing digital board games on the computer with some friends online lately (on Friday nights as it happens) because we have more or less been in perpetual lock down for the last year!

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny I'm actually on the computer a lot, mainly for work. But I make a point to not do personal things on my work laptop besides ordering out for food on occasion. Some online order forms are much more manageable on an actual PC in my humble opinion.

A friend and I have played Among Us together a couple times, and our work holiday party this year consisted of that, a virtual bomb diffusing game called Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (We weren't very good at that....), and Jackbox Party Pack games! My manager has a Steam account and set everything up. It was a heck of a good time even though some of us were working remotely!

@Tyranexx ahh the days of ordering food! I know they say its supposed to be pretty safe but I am still paranoid I will get some pizza with Corona toppings so I haven't eaten anything that hasn't been home prepared for the last year 😅. Well, except packaged junk food like crisps, chocolate and biscuits. I have really wanted to get a Domino's Meateor at times but I've managed to resist!

I wish I could work from home, unfortunately I do a physical job and our work won't furlough us because they still have to pay (minimal) contributions on top of what the government provide. (I'm in the UK btw) So I'm basically living off my savings at the moment and I suspect I will be until whenever my age group gets the vaccine. I'm in my early 30s so I'm near the back of the line 🤦‍♂️

I need to look into how Jackbox works remotely, I've got the first two party packs but not sure how it would work over the internet. We've been playing Wingspan which is a boardgame about ornithology. Not a topic I'd expect to play a boardgame on but it's quite good and easy to learn, I mainly do it for the social though so I'm not to fussed about what we play.

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny Nothing wrong with home prepared meals! It's a money saver at least. I've made some interesting cuisines on my own dime lol. I only order out once a week on average, and I do consider it relatively safe. Safer than dining in surrounded by people, anyway.

I was working from home at the time and still have the option, but I am back in the office most days now. There are now plenty of precautions in place; we're separated, and masks, temp checks, and sanitizing are a given. I'm a software dev, and my setup at work is way more ideal lol. Plus it's easier for me to concentrate on work and get tasks done...at work. With more of a routine. I can be productive at home, but I am also surrounded by things I want and need to do. My attention span jumps all over the place then.

Wingspan sounds like a fun game! I do like birds, though I much prefer birds of prey. As for the Jackbox Party Pack games, my manager gave us a link to something called jackbox.tv. You enter a code for your group that the host generates from their game, and then the link does the rest!

@Tyranexx ah sweet! I'll have to look into Jackbox then! Wingspan does have some birds of prey but unfortunately the Vulture cards are glitched for some reason and they break the game so we have a "house rule" not to play any vultures. They can be used for other things though.

I move computers for office moves as a contractor so I go to lots of different companies to do it. Some sites are really good with their restrictions and others less so. The main problem is the public transport. It's prohibitively expensive to drive and park in London so I have to get the train, which apart from being busy is always full of heavy breathers that have run for the train and other people that seem to think they need to remove their masks so they can talk on their mobile phones 🤦‍♂️. It's not a comfortable experience at the best of times, let alone during a pandemic lol

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny The Jackbox games were fun, but definitely more so if you have a group of people, I'd recommend at least four or more. I think each of the games, at least the ones we played, maxes out at eight participants. More than that can join as spectators though and get in on the action next time.

Glitched Vulture cards in Wingspan? That's unfortunate. House rules exist for a reason!

Ah, so you have mask removers who talk on their phone in the UK too? Is it really that hard to talk louder? XD Granted, some phones like mine don't pick up voices as well, but I still manage. Most people follow the rules here if they have to mask up in a business, but admittedly I'm in an area where many won't if a business doesn't require or enforce masking.

@Tyranexx I've played them in person and they are quite funny once everyone has got over the desire to draw rude pics (in Drawful). I mean the rude pics are funny but everyone loses with a rude pic because the game doesn't require you to draw them 😅

I think it's required to wear masks over here in shops and stuff but I'm not sure if some of the smaller shops follow the rules. There seems to be a lot of misinformation where people think if they had it already then they can't spread it too.

Masks are definitely compulsory on public transport unless you have a medical reason to be exempt (physical or mental) but you are not required to prove it and I've never seen anyone coming around to check anyway.

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny Lol We did play Drawful! Though as it was work-related the worst drawings were only steaming piles of crap. Mine was just squiggles since I didn't realize you couldn't erase....

Mask mandates sort of depend on state, municipality, and city here, though IIRC you now have to wear them on federal property. My state is one of the stricter ones, so we've been on lockdowns on and off with masks required where they can legally enforce it. Not all local shops or law enforcement get on peoples' cases though. There are few Karens and Kevins actually screaming about it, but there are plenty of people who won't wear them unless they're told to and/or given a disposable mask.

@Tyranexx lol, I've heard the term Karen but not Kevin....and I'm not properly sure as to what they mean 😅 Do they love masks or hate masks? Well I guess nobody loves masks but most of us will tolerate them if they help us continue to live.

Yeah I suppose poo is safer for work than body parts! I guess your squiggly lines made for some convincing "steam"!

See ya!

Tyranexx

@ralphdibny "Karen" (and I feel sorry for actual ladies with the name who don't fit the stereotype lol) is a term that stereotypically refers to a middle-aged woman who's overwhelmingly entitled and demanding beyond normal/reasonable means. The closest (though less accurate) term of "Kevin" refers more to the teenage jock type, at least in my experience lol. I've heard it used as the male alternative to Karen a time or two, but it isn't common. Basically I was pointing at the viral vids of people who make a huge deal out of not wearing a mask. That reaction isn't the norm lol.

Technically the Drawful images were still on work time, so we had to behave a little. XD
