A memorable game for me or in this case games are pokemon diamond/pokemon emerald and legend of zelda twilight princess. Pokemon diamond is a memorable game for me because i got it on my 8th birthday and it was my very first pokemon game with 600+ hours on it. Pokemon emerald was also memorable because it was my first gameboy game and i got it because of my friend who let me borrow his sapphire version and because i enjoyed the game alot. and lastly Twilight princess because it was my very first zelda game and got it because my friend let me borrow it and its the game the had memorable moments for me.

I remember the constant pain of having to play SSB Melee with my brother, even though I hated everything about that game, with each and every play session solidifying that hatred until I could theoretically build a tower of pure contempt. Does that count?
The Zelda collection, made me the Zelda fan I am today.
Also, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly on GCN. DEM GLITCHES, the ridiculously high Dragonfly requirements, how boring the game felt. all made me quit the game. Then my copy disappeared entirely, don't know how or why, but don't care.
Valkyrie Profile (later known as Valkyrie Profile Lenneth) made the biggest impact on me as a kid. It was my first game that I bought on my own, and I loved it so much I wrote down every single line of dialog in the game in notebook. It actually got me into norse myths, which lead me to playing an MMO called Ragnarok Online (back when it was still pay to play) which is where I met the man who I would later marry. Also Pokemon was a big one for me. I met most of my friends from playing PKMN blue and the TCG.

:/
Not being boring or unoriginal on uninteresting would be my criteria. Ideally by having a combination of quality and unique game mechanics and a well written story (with lots of bonus points for a distinct art style and catchy soundtrack).

Wow, that is really meaningful .
And LOL @CanisWolfred. It counts if it's "memorable"
I was just about to type an essay, but it's just easier to say that I've been gaming on all the Nintendo platforms since I was 4 or so, with a bit of Sega on the side, and Xbox in more recent times.
Yoshi's Island is pretty darn memorable for me because I (like probably everyone at the time) expected, and couldn't wait for, a direct sequel to Super Mario World. It would have been easy for Nintendo to produce a simple sequel, we all would have loved it and it would have made millions. But no! Nintendo subverts our expectations by giving us a sequel that is completely different and absolutely wonderful! It was the moment that I realised the possibilities video games present are limitless and, I think, a really important moment for Nintendo. As much as I like the New Super Mario Bros games, they do disappoint me because Nintendo didn't always make such cynical business decisions (they do still impress me often btw).
The most memorable game for me on the Nintendo platforms will always be Pokemon Gold, had it since Day1 and man I fell in love with the Pokemon Series after that. I love them all.
On the Pokemon series, when I was younger I lived in another country (very poor country) and my only playthingy was a GBA SP and Pokemon Emerald and Gold, I played so much of those games that my SPs display can'd render some colors anymore (!!!)
Growing up I had other memorable ones: Monster Hunter, playing with friends is pure and dumb fun. Most of the Nintendo franchise games and "recently" the most memorable one was the Souls Series, with Dark Souls being my favorite game of all times.
Most memorable for me was Pokemon Red. My little brother and I would trade together all the time. It was the first and only Pokemon game where I caught all the Pokemon in the pokedex and Ioved that missingno glitch where I could get 99 of an item. Another memorable game for me was Pokemon Platinum. I loved the distortion world and being able to trade over Pokemon from other games. The last most memorable game was Donkey Kong Country. My dad bought me the SNES bundle that came with the game. It was the first time I owned a home console and my little brother and I would play the game together. It was the closest that he and I have ever been (he's 7 years younger than me).
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
Megaman X, it was a game I sucked at when I was young and I usually saw my cousin play it. Nowadays, I can beat it all in one setting, it's child's play to me!
The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.
