Hi all,

I hope you are having a nice weekend!

I would like to know if anyone has experienced a lag/fps drop in the below or similar situations?

New 3DS XL
-Coin collection in the ‘mash’ mode in WarioWare Gold (after a BOSS microgame as Wario or Dribble and Spitz)
-VC games like Super Mario Bros 2 when a lot of enemies are on screen.

Do you think my New 3DS XL has an issue?

Thank you all in advance!

Virtual console games retain their original fps for the most part. It's always been like this.

For Wario ware, I'm not sure I haven't noticed any drops myself.

@Yosheel Thank you for your reply! Next time you happen to play WarioWare Gold, could you please play ‘Dribble and Spitz’ in story mode and let me know if you notice any FPS drops on the falling coins in the coin collection game after the 1st boss battle? It would be much appreciated.

Best,

I was playing Dribble and Spitz's stage yesterday and didn't notice any problems, but I'm not very sensitive to framerate drops so I guess I'm not the best person to ask.

Hi @ReaderRagfish ! Thanks for your answer - it makes sense. I did notice the lower volume levels on a few titles and wondered if it was just me... cheers

Well, depending on the theme, most menu themes lower the volume of the music intentionally, while others don't.

I've noticed some frame rate drops during the coin collecting sections as well. I think it's normal.

I like makin' games!

Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

There are some significant frame drops/skips in WarioWare Gold, even on the New Nintendo 3DS (which suggests that the developers hadn't bothered to optimise the game for the superior hardware apart from including amiibo support).

Frame drops are particularly noticeable in microgames that contain 3D assets, especially the driving boss stage, which is virtually unplayable at the higher speeds.

I have never noticed performance issues in any prior WarioWare game, so it is quite striking to me that Gold is the first in the series to have less than silky smooth performance at even the highest speeds.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
