It seems the eShop is getting a port of iOS racing game VectorRacing(at least in Japan!). The game appears to be a simple arcade/futuristic style racing game with simplistic wireframe graphics, due to that the game is only 11.5MB(which means it could fit even in DSiware's measly limit). We have very little info on the eShop version so far but expect it to be a tad more expensive than the iOS version. Anyway here's an official screenshot: and the only video of the game I could find: [youtube:W1gR-tLrRLs]
So what's so interesting about the game? There's been iOS ports on every console download service and the game doesn't seem to be especially significant. Well what's interesting to me is the developer behind the game, Sweet-soft, which appears to be a one man band(Hisaya Kannaka). VectorRacing eShop also seems to be Sweet-soft's first non-iOS project. Many people assumed this type of game wouldn't come to the eShop due to Nintendo's notorious "garage dev" comment but this could indicate that it was misconstrued, or they've since adapted their policy, hopefully someone who knows more about Nintendo's policy could elaborate on this*hint hint*.

That looks pretty neat, I hope there's an option to use buttons or they gyroscope; I hate touching the screen with my fingers
Well as I said there's no details yet but I imagine it will be controlled primarily with the Circle Pad/d-pad. There would be no reason to have it be touch only(not sure about gyro).

If this came in at a nice low price I could see buying it as it's like a vector f-zero from the looks of it including the energy meter bit. I don't like racing games much due to burn out but I could see it as a fun time waster in the menu.

As you can see the game is 500 Yen so if/when it releases in the west it should be $5/€5/£4.50 which seems reasonable. It has two player local wireless and online rankings(does that indicate that online leaderboards are fairly easy to implement?).
As you might have noticed as well this version of the game is published by Arc System Works.

The look of it reminds me a bit of light trax, except with an actual vehicle. The steering looks a little awkward in that video. I'd definitely consider buying it if it's only $5 though.

Aye but keep in mind the video is of the iphone version whereas the eShop version will use the Circle Pad which will probably make it a bit easier.
