I honestly am curious as to why GBA VC games are going to be on the Wii U and not the 3DS... unless that has something to do with an announcement from Iwata...
I mean, which is preferable... playing a low res 16 bit handheld game in HD at home or playing a low res 16 bit handheld game on a handheld?
Probably Choice B (have it on a handheld). Just makes more sense. I was honestly dissapointed to hear Gamecube games won't be on Wii U, I was really looking forward to that. GBA games BELONG on 3DS. oh well, I am quite content with the VC systems we have now. GBC, GB, and NES were good gaming platforms. I was looking forward to playing games like Super Mario Advance 2 and 3, Advance Wars, and Zelda Minish Cap on my 3DS though.

Castlevania is indeed making its way to the 3DS Virtual Console next to Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirrors of Fate! It's gonna be... great! (See what I didi there? No? It's a rhymee. )
Also we will be getting other games, including Mega Man 2 this week! Also a 3DS Direct is bound to happen sometime soon so maybe we'll here more 3DS VC announcements then. (GBA PLEASE!!!!!!!)

“A thing may be too sad to be believed or too wicked to be believed or too good to be believed; but it cannot be too absurd to be believed in this planet of frogs and elephants, of crocodiles and cuttle-fish.”

Dig Dug is coming to the North American 3DS VC on Valentine's Day. Despite it being an import Famicom game, it's actually one dollar CHEAPER than regular NES games on the eShop. Even though I'm predicting that a Namco Museum 3DS will come later this year with Dig Dug on it, I'll download this one in case I'm wrong, an I can play it with another game in the cartridge slot.

Would Dig Dug be NA s first 3DS vc import game? I remember that (can't remember it's name) other game (that reminded me of Kirby for some reason) that would be an import but it never came to NA

Are you talking about Trip World? It's never came to NA as an import yet, but it's still possible in the future. The first import game outside of Japan is the Japanese Super Mario Brothers 2.

Yeah it will. That's not exactly a VC title but the original Castlevania will be sold in the eShop alongside Mirrors of Fate being available in the eShop. Basically both will be available in the 3DS eShop.

Am I correct in thinking that SNES and GBA games are being lined up for the WiiU only?
Does this seem abit odd? Giving the enormous back-catalogue of SNESware available for the WiiU.
Then the fact the 3DS is outselling the WiiU in all territories... give the GBAware to the 3DS, surely its deserved it and i doubt people will bother with hand-eld based software on their WiiU.
SNES is not odd but GBA is. I really thought I would be seeing Gamecube games on Wii U VC and GBA games on 3DS VC. It makes muchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuch more sense.

No, it's better for GBA VC games to be on Wii U because the gamepad is like a giant GBA handheld. It can be played in other parts of the house like a handheld plus you can play it with or without the TV. Plus if you want to play GBA games on the road, then just buy a used GBA with some games.
@Don I must disagree. The 3DS will give you the best GBA experience because the GBA was portable and so is the 3DS. It makes no sense for the Wii U not to support Gamecube so it can support GBA because the GBA was a handheld and I believe, naturally, it would make sense to re-release classic portable games on a current-gen portable system, don't you? It'd be like making the PS4 have PSP games re-released on their digital service instead of PS2 games. Gamecube VC games belong on Wii U and GBA VC games belong on 3DS. And the thing about buying a Game Boy Advance is, well, they're not common anymore. It's not easy to just find a Game Boy Advance. So the best way to get the GBA experience, to me, is through 3DS. @CapnPancakes I am waiting for Super Mario Bros. 2 USA & Super Mario Bros. 3.

@MultiMariosonic Agreed on the GBA front, otherwise where does the 3DS VC go from here? : /
Exactly. Does anyone know when the next Nintendo Direct is? I'm hoping they'll have a 3DS Direct then so that they can announce new games for 3DS & 3DS eSHop and 3DS VC games.
