The save data will be copied to the SD card with the game. Then when you copy the data back, the save data will be with it.

I tested this with Shantae and I managed to keep my progress

Mines filling up slowly... I think I only have 493 blocks left. D: Hopefully the NES and GBA games aren't TOO big, but I'm thinking they'll go on to the SD card though right? o_O Well, at least I hope so...

But I suppose I'll just have to shuffle games I'm not playing over to the SD Card and then shuffle them back over to the sytem memory when I do want to play them. Stupid sytem if you ask me, why can't we play them off the SD Card like we do with literally, everything else?

I'm guessing it's because we couldn't do it with the DSi, or to stop piracy... grr...

Yeah, pretty sure they'll go on the SD card.

I've pretty much stopped downloading DSiWare games now because my system is nearly full.

Oh good. I thought I was going crazy, seeing my save games come back when I copy back games from the SD card.

Like with the Wii, it depends on the size of the emulators being included with each game. All 10 NES games combined (without the emulators) are no bigger than 1.5MB or the equivalent of a small song. The actual weight of the game will largely depend on the emulators when you're dealing with such small numbers. The largest GBA game should be around the size of a high DSiWare game (20MB), but some will be less.

I'm assuming these ones will launch from the SD Card though. Ambassador games should not be a problem. If they are, they'll still be easier to deal with.

This is the main reason why I stopped buying DSi games/apps. I am dumbfounded as to why Nintendo has not fixed this yet.

I'm not sure if Nintendo comes to these boards but every time I do a survey for my DSi games for Club Nintendo, I always mention how the limited internal memory and not being able to fully use the SD card are huge problems.

If more people mention this in the surveys, maybe it will be addressed. They fixed it for the Wii which is another reason why I don't understand why this problem has gone on so long. Do they not what to sell games?

I know right. I thought I read there was a spike in sales of some larger WiiWare games (Strong Bad in particular) when the SD Menu was rolled. out. That was years ago that they did that. Everyone praised them and was eternally grateful to never have to deal with cleaning out the fridge again. Then the DSi came. No playing off SD Card people were mad and it was a step backward but we made it to the 3DS. Surely, with the 3DS being a next gen handheld and being about on par technologically with Wii, Nintendo would finally allow DSiWare playing off SD card, something that SHOULD have been implemented into the DSi. Surprise surprise! No playing off SD Card. Its even more baffling because 3DS VC and 3DSWare IS playable off SD Card. What!? Some downloads from the eShop are SD playable and some from the very same source are not? I repeat, What!? This confuses and frustrates me...Why Nintendo? Can't you just....like....make DSiWare playable off SD Card....Please? In my mind this is the singel biggest issue on 3DS. This needs to be addressed NOW!!!

@Scypher Thanks. I was hoping somebody quite knowledgeable on the subject could give me an explanation like that.

NES only takes up like 20 blocks a piece. GBA will probably be 40 blocks.

I have them taking up between 30-33 blocks.
They are made for the 3DS and are accessed from the SD card.
